The villas are part of the Port Veor Manor Hotel located beside Porth Beach Newquay. The villas are simply superb, very large and open plan with granite top kitchens, large lcd tv's in every room. The swimming pool is directly outside of your villa. Newquay is great but... more

Wonderful accomodation
We wanted a long weekend away Oct 4th - 7th and couldn't decide where to go. After scouring the internet we decided on Newquay and found this accomodation on the laterooms website. Having endured a 300 mile drive we arrived very early for our check-in but were greeted at reception very warmly and handed the keys to our villa which was ready for us. As we walked through the door we couldn't believe our luck! The whole villa was so modern and clean, the hotel even supplied the bedding, towels and tea & coffee making facilities which we though for a self-catering villa was a fantastic touch. Villa/ Apartments: Facilities in the villa included TV & DVD players in the lounge and bedrooms. Ironing board and iron, full dinner service, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer ,oven & hob, pots, pans - even dishcloths, teatowels and dishwasher tablets! Location: The location was perfect for us. A 5-minute walk to the beach or a 15-minute walk to Newquay, a footpath at the side of the hotel takes you to the walkway on the clifftops with fabulous views. Out & About: We drove from here to Padstow along the road past Watergate Bay which was about 13 miles away and to St Ives which was about 40 miles away. We would deifnitely recommend the Rick Stein fish & chip shop on the harbour at Padstow. It was pretty expensive but excellent quality. All in all the holiday was great, the weather was brilliant and the villa was out of this world. The hotel bar does a fabulous cappuccino with a shortcake biscuit as well! We will definitely be back next year, this time for a longer stay.
Mixed Goals....
My husband and I stayed in the hotel with our 2 children for 4 nights in a famly room. The room itself was very nice, well decorated and maintained and spacious. The hotel is in a good location, being next to the beach and having the outdoor pool was great for the children and it is out of the busy town. However, we had planned to eat at the hotel during our stay but the restaurant is not family friendly. The daily menu was not suitable for your average child, and every day when we asked what they could provide for our children all we were offered was chicken and pasta. We ended up eating out every night at the local pub, which wasn't our plan, but was the only option without needing to take the car out every evening. Although we did like the hotel it has very mixed messages. It has family rooms and holiday cottages that allow children, but they are made to feel unwelcome and catering for them seems to be too much trouble. We would not recommend this hotel and complex for families unless you were prepared to go out and eat every night.
Great find
Excellent fairly small hotel which also has self catering (although you can eat in the hotel if you want) villas in the grounds. Close to the beach and in a great position. We had a 4 day 'deal' which included a dinner for 2, lunch for 2, B&B and dinner at Jamie Olivers Fifteen. A real out of season bargain basement price in a 3/4* hotel. The staff are very helpful and make the place (very few East Europeans, mainly locals). We'd go back.
SPOTLESS ACCOMMODATION
Have recently returned from six night stay at the Porth Veor Manor hotel. The rooms were spotlessly clean, as was the rest of the hotel. The conservatory was a wonderful place just to sit and watch the world go by. The views look out onto Porth Bay and the surrounding countryside. Be warned though - there are no lifts in the hotel and some of the stairwells are quite steep to climb. There is a car park near the hotel itself, but this gets full quite quickly, but there is also one near the villas, so it wasn't a problem for us. I'm not sure how much of a problem this would be in the height of the summer months though. The restaurant meals in the evening were very good, and Porth is well situated to visit the major attractions. All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable time and we would go back there again.
Great apartments and hotel restaurant
Have just stayed at the Porth Veor apartments for three nights. I was very impressed with the apartments themselves - they are newly built and very comfortable indeed. They have flat screen TVs in all the rooms, underfloor heating, dishwasher and other mod cons. Only small downside is that there is no air conditioning and no way of opening the bedroom patio doors safely overnight (the bedrooms are at street level) - not too much of a problem at this time of year but it will be in Summer! We ate at the Porth Veor hotel restaurant (Beaucliffes) one evening and I was surprised the food was so excellent! Really high standard of both food and accommodation and the staff are very willing and helpful. I'd stay here again.
fantastic hideaway home from home
just returned from 4 night gourmet break at the Porthveor Villas. WOW, what a wonderful hideaway a couple of miles out of newquay. We stopped in one of the deluxe villas which was like a showhome and home from home, there was everything you could think of. The staff were excellent and friendly and the food 10/10. The views were superb and the beach was only a 5 mins stroll. There was also an outdoor pool with jacuzzi. I will definately return to this little gem. The only downside is theres not much parking. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay enjoyable
What a stroke of luck.
My wife and two young children booked a family room for three nights as an end of Summer holidays treat through Laterooms.com.. This Hotel is immaculate, from the reception area, bar, restaurant and in particular the Family room we had booked. Every member of staff that we encountered were friendly and very helpful. The quality and presentation of the restaurant food was top notch. The location couldn't be better overlooking the beach. My only fears are that as the popularity of this hotel inevitably increases so may the prices, which are reasonable at the moment. Overall if you get the chance pay this Hotel a visit, you wont be dissapointed.
Value for Money????
We stayed at the villas at Porth Veor and we were very dissapointed. The place was still a building site when we arrived and we had a portable toilet and digger in residence next door to us. With smal children this was a hazard which the staff di not recognise. The general welcome and hospitality was terrible, we were never welcomed on our arrival to the Villa, we were simply given a parking permit and key. There was also a general tone of "you will have to pay for that" or "thats not included as you are not staying in the hotel" whenever we asked for anything. I can only say the hotel had not fully prepeared for the expectations of the villa clients and were more focussed on the hotel. All in all the actual villas are well put together and have the luxuries of home, if you want anything that resembles service, hospitality and gravitas that you expect when going on holiday, you will not get it here. The Porth Veor Villas are a business for the hotel, and you are never allowed to forget that when you are there......
A fantastic beautiful Hotel
Me and My partner have just come back from 7 nights self catering at Porth Veor Manor, the Villas are really lovely and comfortable and decorated lovely. We ate in the reataurant in the hotel 2 nights and the food is amazing as is the service, all the staff are really friendly and helpful and they took there time out to make us feel exceptionally welcome. We will be going back to Porth Veor Manor.
Porth Veor Manor Hotel - a pleasure
Beautifully situated just a couple of minutes walk from the beach, this hotel is a joy to stay in. Interiors are immaculately clean, beds large and comfy, fabulous shower and our large room even had a sea view. Both breakfast and dinner are top notch and staff are helpful and friendly. Thumbs up all round to a wonderful hotel.
