Stayed for 6 nights in the Hotel Continental in the Industia District of Palma, the hotel was centrally located, a short walk to all of the city. The spa facilities can be booked by giving 2 hours notice and at all times of the stay we were the only ones to use this. The... more

Very Good Location, Very Good Hotel
Just stayed at Hotel Continental for 4 nights with my girlfriend and we could not fault it. The hotel is in the "new and trendy" part of Palma so there were loads of cool bars and tapas bars nearby with not many tourists around. The brilliant rock city pizza is only about 2 mins walk too!! A walk to Palma centre takes approx 5-10 mins depending on the heat, so the hotel is just far away enough to be nice and quiet and at the same time close enough to walk to the where all the action is. The hotel itself is spotless, very clean, with really friendly staff who are more than willing to help - i.e. booking taxis etc. Our room big and clean, bathroom was huge with excellent shower. Breakfast was great, good selection of hot food, pastries and cereals. Overall, this hotel is great for a city break to Palma.
Excellent Hotel
Stayed at the Hotel Continental for three nights. Will make this review brief as I'd simply be repeating all the positive comments made on previous reviews. Lots of nice eating places in surrounding streets - many are popular with the locals which is a good sign. The locals tend to eat late in the evening so relatively easy to get a table early on. The weather let us down a bit - the hotel didn't. We would be happy to recommend it to anyone planning a break to Palma.
Super Continental
Three night stay in an extremely impressive and excellent value city centre hotel. Close to all amenities. Large, high-quality rooms, super bathrooms. Good breakfast availability. Helpful staff.
great location
stayed here for 2 nights in april location is excellent just on the edge of the old walled city and shopping area and not very far to the marina.hotel was very clean staff exceptionally helpfull and friendly and gave some great advise on traditional spanish restaurants, buffy breakfast was more than adequate without being exceptional, the rooms were quite large with good quality furniture and decor, nice touch was the free minibar of soft drinks alcohol drinks had to be paid for.bathroom was a good size and exceptionally clean, my only gripe was the noise from the street outside but being here only 2 nights i didnt let it bother me. palma was a great plce and i was pleasantly supprised the area inside the old part of town had some great bars and restaurants and the narrow streets made it very atmospheric, you must go into the bar abaco never been to a place like it but take plenty of money if you want to stay there very long.the walk along the seafront prom is very pleasant it was great to be on a spanish coastel town without having to put up with the old british fish and chips shops full english breakfast cafes and kiss me quick rubbish and sample some good spanish traditional places, would definateley come again and would definateley stay at the hotel continental
Excellent rooms and service - great hotel
We stayed in this hotel for 3 days between christmas and New Year 2007. The hotel is very good located, great for shopping and near to nightlife. People were very nice and our rooms very spacious and good equiped. Great confort and unexpected details as free minibar, free parking in hotel garage, fitness-room, ... Breakfast was very well, really can recommend this hotel!
Nice hotel
I spent five days in this hotel. The room was very big and elegant. Bathroom with both tub and shower and all the amenities that you expect from a 4star hotel. Very good breakfast and friendly staff. The hotel is situated 15 minutes walk from the old center of Palma at the end of Av. Jaume III, the main shoping street. It also has a free underground parking for guests. As we rent a car to explore the island this was very convinient. We could park the car at the hotel after our daytrips and walk to the city for dinner and night walks. The only problem is that it can be noisy early in the morning as most of the rooms face the road which is very busy. It was not such a problem for us as we wake up at around 8:30-9:00 anyway but if you want to sleep late ask for a room facing the inner yard.
great location, great hotel, handicapped accessible
Great hotel, great location: near shops, restaurants and bars in all shapes and sizes. Rooms like ballrooms, free soft drinks and water from minibar. Bathroom is big it could easily accomodate a party. (Balcony only 15 cm wide, what a shame...) All art and most of the furniture are originals!!! Personell is very friendly and adding a personal touch to your stay is no problem at all. Even the general manager takes a personal interest in making your stay memorable. Restaurant not suitable for dinners as you probably are the only guest or it might be in use for a business reception and therefore not accesible. (But many of the best Maljorcan restaurants are nearby serving every kind of food you can think of). Parking never full, therefore no problem with the small parking space. (You simple use a little more than one space as everybody does.) Garage entrance not easy to find on your own due to narrow streets, but ask for a short desciption a reception and your probleem is easily solved. (Hotel is really easy to find, although antoher reviewer thinks is not, we disagree with that.) Garagedoor makes a lot of noise and if your room is located near it you might be woken up several times. (Eq. Both handicapped rooms are over the entrance of the garage.) For the handicapped: 2 rooms completely equiped as we have never seen before! Just beware of slippery floors and bring your slippers; and make sure they leave the carpet in your bedroom to avoid falling. (On Mallorca personal assistance/nursing is available.) Astma patients should leave the room while cleaning as the cleaner used for the bathroom could lead to breathing problems. But the result is a very clean room. TIp: the hotel can be cheaper if booked through a travel agent rather than the internet. The rates vary
Superb service
Ideally situated close to the Ave Jaume shops and the cathedral, this hotel was a gem. Obviously a business hotel during the week, they offered a special weekend rate and my fears that they wouldn't be able to cope with a baby were unfounded. They were so friendly and helpful and the baby cot in our large room was beautifully laid out with soft teddy blankets! so much so our little one had the best sleep she's had for months! Obviously a small-ish family run hotel, you can tell by the "intimate" service, the rooms were traditionally but tastefully furnished (I'm bored with the minimalist look and it wouldn't have suited my mother who stayed here also!) and immaculately clean (very important to me-I'm very fussy and always inspect the bathrooms for cleanliness). The only downsides (and I'm being choosy now) were; no roof terrace/pool but this isn't what you'd book into the hotel for; it was very quiet at the weekend-who's complaining! and it's almost impossible to find the hotel and underground car park (via car) even with the hotel directions. If you are travelling by car, the hotel is directly off the "Passeig Mallorca", on the right before the "Telepizza" windmill! I can't wait to stay there again-a smal oasis of relaxing luxury with lovely, friendly and attentive staff.
Nice touches...great bathroom!
The Continental hotel was in an excellent location in Palma - if only ou could actually find it We spent four days there and never did get it first time due to the poor street signage and the roundabout one way streets. However, it's only a short walk from the main shops and about 10 minute stroll to the harbour. The hotel itself was very clean but our room was tiny - two of us squeezed in and around the beds then you could have got a whole morris dancing team into the bathroom (which was fantastic). It was so tiny that the wardrobe was actually IN the bathroom. Very unusual. Perhaps we were just unlucky though. Breakfast was really good and the place had underground parking which was a bonus for us. The staff were pleasant and helpful and we loved the internal glass lifts. Nicely designed and understated hotel.
Great for Handicapped
In fact, I must to say, that I did not stay in this hotel, just I visited the hotel. Palma, has wonderful hotels, but all the hotels, were not very pepared for handicapped people with wheelchair, they were just adapted. Now the Hotel Continental, new built, has made some rooms for handicapped, the fact, is that this rooms are not adapted for handicapped, but built already for them. I think this is the best recomendation, the hotel is new and very nice. Ferran
