We spent a 3 night stay at the howbeck in Windermere, all in all a very comfortable and excellent stay, food very good and staff 1st class, we will return.

Great little hotel, the room was perfect although a little smaller than we imagined, the breakfast was one of the nicest we have had in a hotel, staff very nice & could not do enough for us, they even went & shopped for a birthday cake for my Wife! very nice & will return a+++

Nice place shame about the 'welcome' from TeabagMidlands
We had decided to splash out and spend a bit more than usual on a B&B in the lakes. Basically it was a nice place- clean, tastefully decorated, tasty breakfast. The en-suite was lovely and location fine. Our mistake was to arrive 7 minutes early. We went in thinking that by the time we had registered etc we'd be allowed access to our room, but were swiftly and somewhat brusquely turned back, out into a hail shower! The owner caught up with us a few minutes later in the car park and conceeded that the room was ready and we could go in, but it wasn't exactly a warm welcome. It certainly didn't make us think that the hike in price compared to a more standard B&B was worth it.

I am pleased these guests enjoyed their stay, I must however point out that I did offer for these guests to wait for 5 minutes in our lounge while we put the finishing touches to their room, if a guest arrives early we will always try and get the room ready ASAP, we always offer them to sit in the lounge and if they would like a tea or coffee while they wait!
