What a way to welcome the new year
10 / 10
Jan 2012, robbies dave

Just returned from our new year break at the Langham Court in Shanklin.
From the minute you arrive you are made welcome. The owner Mrs C is a lovely person and goes out of her way to make sure guests have a comfortable stay, Most of the rooms have now been refurbished to a high standard and the food is excellent. ( keep hold of the chef ) . We have stayed here a few times and never have any reason to moan. (apart from the amount of food we had to eat at new year, ) WOW. Get tourselves to this hotel for a very warm and friendly atmosphere, and a great stay. WE WILL BE BACK.

Langham Court Hotel

Jul 2011, ros

just returned from a pleasant 5 day stay at this hotel. The rooms were adequate, clean, towels were changed daily and there was copious amounts of hot water. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was light and airy the food was plentiful no-one went hungry. The owners are trying very hard to update the decor they still have a way to go but it is in the right direction. I would be happy to stay there again

Truely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. In our room, wall plugs hanging from walls with the wires on show! Room also very dirty, old and dated.
Breakfast horrid, with cheap meat. Also cheap white bread and no choice of brown bread. Evening meal disgusing- all frozen rubbish.
Not even the cheapest hotel either. Stay well clear from. This hotel should be closed down.

This Hotel was very tired, We had a very poor standard room, the bath was dirty with mold around the tap area the toilet was very dirty and had not been cleaned to any standard. The wallpaper was soiled and peeling off in places, the ceiling had water damage, you could not see out of the windows because they were dirty also some parts of the window the glass had blown our cups the tea and coffee making facilities were poor and the crocery was not cleaned, the carpets were stained. we had one meal on the first night of arrival and the standard of food and cooking was very very disapointing in fact you could not eat it, example gravy was so thick you could cut it with a knife and had no taste at all the custard come up bright yellow salad were brown and unfresh also no choice of brown or white bread. The fire exit outside our room was obstructed with poles and a bag .... I was just very upset with the experience.. I ate out every day.

Our party of eight enjoyed their stay from 16th November to the 20th. The staff were very pleasant and could not have been more helpful, they gave 100% to make our stay enjoyable.
The food, and choice was good and well presented, albeit that the portions could have been smaller, I personaly do not like sending good food to waste.
The hotel,in certain areas does show signs of age, but if you look around it is obvious that the present owners are getting to grips with this. Like any project time and MONEY being the main contributor. I shall definitely visit again. To all at Langham Court keep up the good work, and may you prosper.

Disappointing stay

Found the hotel very basic and limited.
Was not impressed with our room which was not what I had expected.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Reading th other reviews I can only assume that some rooms have been updated and refurbished while others have not and I was put in one of the rooms yet to be updated. I travel alot around the UK and must say I would not choose to stay here again. I have stayed in far better hotels at the same price.
It is near to the beach and town centre but there are better hotels nearby.
My room had marks on the carpet and the bedding smelt musty, the layout of the hotel is very confusing as there appear to be random rooms with no specific number order. On the whole I would not recommended this hotel unless you are looking for very basic room without shower and other generally normal mod-cons.
There was also no parking which seemed odd for a hotel this size.

Excellent Weekend Break

I recently spent a weekend break at Langham Court Hotel in the Isle of wight as I was attending a wedding there. I found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful with all of my enquiries regarding the local area quickly answered. The food was excellent and the bar prices reasonable. The room in which I stayed with my wife was nice with a TV and en suite shower/bathroom and the small adjoining room for my young daughter was brilliant (much better than at other places we have stayed at). The beds were very comfortable and I had no trouble sleeping at all. The indoor swimming pool with it's climate controlled enviorment was brilliant as was the pool table (where my daughter became an avid fan of the game!). If I were to have any criticism at all it would be that the hotel needed a few cosmetic upgrades but they are minor. All in all my family had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend and are considering returning to the hotel next summer.

Having stayed at this hotel a few times away on business, i decided to take the family on a week break, the hotel staff and management bent over backwards to help us with things to do, the rooms were very clean, having read the negative review recently posted, myself and all my family would strongly recomend this hotel to anyone, one of the best british holidays we have had and would definately return, FANTASTIC STAY.

Great Time Had By All

My Partner and I have recently returned from a four day stay at this Hotel with a group of friends. We were suitably impressed for a reasonably priced budget hotel. The rooms were large and comfortable and ALL the staff were very very helpful. A minor hitch with the hot water for one of our group was sorted out immediately and with apologies ( what more can you ask!)
The food was plentiful and of good quality, I think most people went home a little heavier than when they arrived!
All in all a wonderful weekend so thanks to all the staff and we will be coming back soon.
