What a great place to be, we cant wait to go back to sakizlihan.
We have best time for windsurfing , it is windy and safe also we found full of high tech gear at the shore for rent.
The village is full of authentic restaurants.
Ownes are very kind and ex-surfing people.
The village is around 4-5 Km far from the shore , therefore you need a car or a bike.
But they can handle those problems and help. Also you can find top of the line windsurf equipment at the shore for rent ( probably one of the biggest windsurf equipment rental and teaching places. )
Hotel has a web site www.sakizlihan.com and you need advance reservation to book a room.
We got a good price in May because they considered slow season !!

Trusting the quality standards of American Express Select list that includes this hotel, we made our reservation over the phone and transferred half of the total price in advance as a down-payment as required. Below notes taken from our dialogue with the owner (Omer Erdem) of the Hotel speaks for itself...
On Friday, August 12th 2011 at around 16:30, we have arrived from Istanbul after 6 hours drive, hoping for a quick check-in and a good rest. Called in the hotel to get the directions...
Q: Please give us directions on how to get to the hotel, where to park, etc.
A: Please park your car at the open car park (approximately 100 meters from the hotel) and walk the way...
Q: How about the luggage?
A: We don’t have anybody at the hotel to help the luggage. You will have to carry them yourself.
Q: How do you mean? I am not going to carry 4 pieces of luggage myself 100 meters under 30+ Celsius degrees. I demand that you find someone to help.
A: We don’t have to carry your luggage. This is not a 5 star hotel. It is a boutique hotel.
Q: You got it wrong. Boutique hotel does not mean less service, it means special/personalised service.
A: We don’t have to and we will not. It’s up to you.
Q: Under the circumstance and with such an attitude especially from the owner; we won’t stay at your hotel. Please refund our down-payment.
A: As you wish, but we won’t return your down payment. If you read our web site, you will see our cancellation terms. Do you think you own the hotel with your down-payment? You better go to the courts if you want your money back.
Q: This is exactly what we will do.
I just wanted to share this unfortunate experience for you not to fall into the same trap – you are warned!
