My partner+I spent one week in the Hotel Dania Park in Puerto de la cruz in Nov last year.It was my birthday and how weird and wonderful to be sunning myself on a hot sunny beach in Nov!!! Our room was excellent and had a fridge in which was a bonus,but our balcony was at the back of the hotel where there wasn't any sun at all and we were completely overlooked by loads of other balconies in the hotel so we couldn't have our curtains opened wide.

We had read reviews about the hotel food and were apprehensive,but we found it to be very good most of the time.Meals were buffet style and our first breakfast was a disaster as we didn't know how things worked and we didn't like to keep asking other guests!! but we soon settled down.

The beaches were very clean,the sand is black(I was fascinated by it!)People are often put off by the thought of black sand(I was)but I was very impressed with them.Swimming was difficult as the sea was rough while we were there,this may be normal, but I was disapointed as I love to swim but it is the Atlantic after all.

We had a lot of problems with the actual flights to and from Tenerife and had to strongly complain to First Choice but they were very unproffessional and we have vowed never to travel with them again.However we will definately be returning to Tenerife again in the very near future.
