We came to Zaragoza casually. In fact, we were heading to Madrid but there was snow in the road, so we decided to stay in Zaragoza. We found those apartments and finally we decided to extend our stay up to one week.
Apartments are just great, totally furnished, kitchen with oven, micro-wave, dish-washer, fridge, washing machine, incredible views of the cathedral El Pilar. On the other hand, they are not expensive at all. My husband and me paid 70 euro for a 2 pax. apartment, and each extra person was 20 euro more, taxes included. Breakfast costs 7 euro but it's a worthy prize. Can you imagine natural orange juice (could you imagine 3 oranges to just make one glass of natural juice!), natural pastry, fruit, spanish ham, manchego cheese, spanish omelette with potatoes, sliced bread with tomato and olive oil... That's Mediterranean cuisine! After that, continental breakfast makes me starve...
Madrid and Barcelona are 1 hour and 15 minutes away in TGV train, and there are so many things to see around. Zaragoza is full of Renaissance buildings and it's the hometown of Goya, the famous painter. Lovely countryside not far away ( 100 kms away you can find the "Monasterio de Piedra", a natural park full of waterfalls) from the city. Great for shopping and partying. Much cheaper than Madrid or Barcelona. Great value. Direct connections with London, Bruxelles, Milano and Rome with Ryanair airlines..
