We stayed at the Peninsula in feb 2008 and were utterly dissapointed from day one.
From the start the the two main people working on reception are not very freindly and everything seemed to be a chore for them.
In the 14 nights we stayed there we were able to have 3 hot showers all the rest had to be cold and that was if the shower actually worked at all.
I know the rooms in hotels in Goa are basic but this really was in my opinion the lowest of the low with threadbare matresses and two beds that we had to wedge to the wall in fear of them collapsing they were that unsturdy.
the pool is at most 3 ft deep so not much fun.
the door to our room had a 1 inch gap at the top and anybody standing on tiptoe could easily look in.
Our room was right at the front of the hotel where the road was and due to the traffic noise and the fact the only M.O.T criteria on indian cars seems to be that the horn works and the louder the better a decent nights sleep was just impossible.
Our travel company made a mistake and left us with a one day shortfall on our accomodation and the hotel was not interested in letting us pay and stay for the extra night claiming they were booked up but we found out that not all the rooms were full we think its because we complained about the shower so were forced to find a alternative.
In my personal opinion i would not reccomend any person to book this hotel as i am sure they would be as dissapointed as us.
We have now found a private set of apartments at a much cheaper rate than the hotel with with more luxuries including a piping hot shower and the accomodation would hold a lot more people. any body wanting details and a phone number for this please email.
