Sezgins guesthouse was my choice becouse my friends stayed at 2009 there.
And they had very good recommendations about it.Deniz pick me up from the izmir airport.Location is great, walking distance to every interesting point.
silent rooms (double glass panels), excellent beds, original and warm decoration, nice welcoming with good restaurant tips...
simple complimentary breakfast served in the lovely garden.
what else shall i say?
go!

We have just spent a wonderful 2 days in the city of Kusadasi, only made more wonderful by the lovely hosts. Deniz and Sezgin made us feel welcome the moment we walked through the door. A wealth of information, and the most hospitable B+B / hotel we have ever stayed in. Thank you both so much, we hope to see you again!! We have already recommended The Sezgins Guesthouse to friends. There is simply nowhere else you should stay.

We stayed at Sezgin for 3 nights.we had booked the room on net for five people. We were promised a family room with one balcony. However the room did not have a balcony. The bathroom had an offensive smell, shower was not working , on complaint it was fixed by Mr Sezgin. The liquid soap wash was broken.Breakfast served in the so called garden was limited ,cats troubling guests at breakfast time. There was no waste basket in the room, not a single glass for drinking, sheets were old and torn.Altogether the hotel seemed unhygenic and dirty. The staff was ok , not as friendly as propagated on the net, by some tourists.Mr Sezgin was only interested in the guests if they wanted to join his pre-arranged tours which seemed quite expensive.Only good point was that it was located in a the city centre with markets and eating places nearby, the steep climb up the hotel was also another bad point. I would never recommend this hotel or go there again. Its better to spend a few bucks more.

I was looking to book a cheap stay for 2 nights while passing through town. As it wasn't tourist season yet, I wanted to wait to book the room until I was able to see it for myself. The pictures some people have posted do it justice. The place was clean and orderly. There was a sitting area with plenty of things to look at and do while waiting for others in my group to finish getting ready.
Sezgin's is 2 minutes from the center of all the activity, yet, peaceful when in the room. I felt sorry for so many foreigners I saw walking to their hotels that had a view of the water but had to walk 20 minutes back and forth up steep and winding roads! I enjoyed hanging out in town and then being able to walk back to my room within a short time. It's so close.
It was an easy walk with luggage to get to the port for an overnight visit to the Greek island of Samos. Yes, the hill is steep, but they are willing to help get luggage up that hill, when you first get there, if they know you are coming.
Mr. Flash and the rest of the staff are very helpful. I was expecting to stay at a guest-house and not a hotel. Sezgin's has a wonderful mix of the two. 24 hour help, knowledgeable staff, a place with character, a clean pool.
Make sure you see the available room before you pay...if you want air conditioning. One or two rooms do not have A/C. They moved us to an A/C room for the 2nd night because one became available.
I would recommend this to anyone not wanting to spend a fortune for a comfortable, cute, and clean place to sleep while exploring the fun city of Kusadasi and the surrounding area.
In fact, I'm going back this next month and bringing my parents! We'll stay at Sezgin's.

This place is a delight for the indpendent traveller in the middle of Kusadasi town.Nice big swimming Pool and the turkish style decorated back yard garden with hunderts of flowers and Threes.Super helpful staff and the rooms are pristine and very clean. The 3am airport pick-up was a huge weight off of my shoulders, and the hostel was indeed very central. The hostel has a warm and inviting atmoshpere and is a great place to put the feet up after a long day of sightseeing. Highly recommend

We have just returned home after a...

Aug 2008, Mrs Andrea Santos

We have just returned home after a wonderful holiday in Turkey. Our time at Sezgins helped make our holiday memorable. The hotel itself is a wonderful oasis of calm and quiet, where you can spend time relaxing away from the manic pursuits of the outside world.
The room we stayed in had recently been refurbished to a good standard and was very clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The afternoon tea gathering was not to be missed, the pastries served were delightful - an ideal forum to get to know the staff and other guests and to pass on and receive advice on where to eat, visit, and how to get there etc..
A short walk down the hill takes you to the resort itself, which can be very busy, particularly when the boats are in. There are many very good restaurants in the old town, however it is probably best to avoid the ones that serve roast beef dinners and full English or Irish breakfasts, unless of course that is what you have come to Turkey for and have no interest in the local cuisine or local culture. Do give "AVLU" a try and visit Mehmet at the "Family Steak House", it is rare to me such friendly host. The walk up the hill always did seem steeper as the day wore on, however there is a decent bar at the bottom where you can "gird your loins" ready for the accent - it isn't half as steep or half as far as some people suggest.
I have to admit that now that I am back home I miss the sound of the regular call to prayer that echos across the town. I certainly did not find it intrusive - and as another reviewer mentioned it is part of the culture of Turkey, what do you expect?
Make a point to visit the local markets, particularly the vegetable market, the variety and quality of the produce is stunning.
Many thanks for a great stay.

My wife and I stayed at Sezgins for a week in April. The staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly. The room was good with a very comfortable bed. Sezgin( Mr Flash ) was excellent at organising trips to historival places as so early in the season not all the tourist outfits were up and running. Altogether a very good time and I would recommend sezgins to anyone.
