A relaxing hotel which is off the beaten track compared to the rest of Koh Chang.
Room quality is excellent - lovely natural decor bathrooms with airy bedrooms, with views onto the disappointing beach......
Nirvana looks out onto Bang Bao harbour - a working village which sadly is a bit grimy, with the water an uninviting grey colour. The 'beach' in front of Nirvana is made man - a few feet of sand that falls rapidly into the grey waters that merge into Bang Bao harbour.
BUT take a walk out the back and you have great views over rocky embankments to the Gulf of Thailand.
There are 2 pools - a traditional sun-bathers paradise (with bar, loungers, towels) and the other, being fresh water, up a steep hill set into the 'jungle' - made from natural rock and a very pleasant place to chill out.... if you can be bothered to climb the 50 or so steps. Hopefully not many can leaving you to some peace and quiet!
The hotel has it's own restaurant which serves good but heavily westernized food.
A 5 minute walk onto Bang Bao pier gives you choice of numerous fish restuarants.
