" no rest for the quiet holiday maker "

If you want a relaxing holiday then you shouldn't go to the Sunset Apartments in Kokkini Hani. Not while Mike runs the place at night anyway.Nothing against anyone who like to burn the candle after midnight but not until the hour of 5o'clock like he does,2o'clock yeah no problemo;but that man was a menace to anyone who likes to rest up for the next days activities. We could not fault the accomodation,we were returners, returning to promote the place to the mother in law in respect of relaxation.Eva and Manolis will lose a lot of trade through him.

Advice: Lovely little town. Just don't stay where its loud.

Activities: Arcadi restaurant,The Secret Garden Restaurant, and Panasia.

" this is me and my families 12th... "

this is me and my families 12th return to sunset apts & i can say it was the most relaxing that ive had in such a long time, having had the same room again as we do ask eva for it never ceases to amaze me of the views that you can aquire here, sunset apts is set in a good location, close to beach facilities with a pool bar in which new owners john teresa and amanda excellantly ran, very light music in the background was music to our ears as with previous owner micheal, who constantly played music till the early hours 5 o'clock one nite tipping down ouzo to whoever wanted to stay up with him, nikki was a delight and made the holiday for me,please dont be phased by a 60 yr old guy running the bar as on our arrival i was sceptical too!because we were 'repeaters' of the complex john quickly asked us if we had been here before in which our reply from him was 'im not micheal i dont do karaoke and i shut at 2 in the morning'thankgoodness a good nites sleep with no music blasting out till 5 no more!the food was fantastic at nite and english worker amanda pulled off some amazing meals for us WELL DONE GUYS a place with peace now just the holiday you want!the rooms are very basic but as a sun worshipper i spent most of my days on a sunbed!!!close to bus stops that run through to heraklion is a must to visit very cosmo!a trip to a hot chocolate bar was great this yr in which eva told us to visit(very english)!A FAB holiday this year!Eva and manolis are always a pleasure to see every year and always make our stay pleasurable. Thanks to john teresa and amanda for a fab time i hope your back there next year!!

" We stayed there this year, and were... "

We stayed there this year, and were disappointed to find Mike and Nikki were not there..

John the new bar man is okay ...but there was no Greek music or dancing around the pool after his Greek nights...In fact he closed at 2am whether guests were still there or not and turned the lights off on them. It was like drinking in an English pub ....when we asked about the dancing and music all he would say was the english don't like things like that...in fact he said " I know what the english want " ...to be honest if I had wanted to go to an english pub that played 60's music all day and night I would have gone to Blackpool. We talked with our feet and hardly spent anytime there.

Although we did find Mike and Nikki, they are doing well where they are and Nikki looks fantastic. Mike is still cooking and his food is still fantastic...if they did have a small hotel we would be staying there next year alas they don't :(

" I have just come back from sunset... "

I have just come back from sunset apartments in Crete, we booked as a honeymoon as we have just got married. The apartments are lovely, although basic they are very clean, the maid emptys bin's daily and cleans on a regular basis etc...
Eva makes you feel very welcome and at home and John and Amanda the bar staff are brilliant, always happy to help and up for a laugh. They also cook brilliant meals and they also do a greek night and bbq night which I highley recomend as the food is out of this world.
In all we had a brilliant honeymoon and what more could you ask for with the beach right on your door step.
We had such a lovely time, the area kokini hani, is quiet but lovely and relaxing, if your after a low key quiet relaxing holiday this is definately the one for you. Although there is a long strip of restaurants and bars, so plenty of choice.
Just want to thank all at sunset apartments for a brilliant stay and for making us feel so welcome.

" For adults wanting to relax ok not... "

For adults wanting to relax ok not what we thought it would be as we was promised by the travel agent a 1 bedroom apartment with a veranda or terrace but this was not the hotels fault plus the travel agent did not have a clue about flights in flight meals tour operators or where to collect our tickets HAYS TRAVEL by the way but after all that mess all the staff at the Sunset apartments made us feel really relaxed the room was clean the pool was clean and the sea was bout 10 yards away the bar staff were very helpful and funny Amanda and John will help you in anyway they can they are both very good cooks and will cook you anything you want ,
DO NOT eat over the road though unless you want to be in bed for the whole of your holiday that place needs an health warning
The food and drink at the apartments is better and the same prices as anywhere else so my advise is to eat there at the bar but could someone please take John some heinz tomato ketchup and some hendersons relish lol .....

" Kokkini Hani is about 20 mins from... "

Kokkini Hani is about 20 mins from the airport and is therefore on the flight path but after while you tend no longer to notice the planes flying overhead or alternatively you become an "anorak" and begin to spot them!! Along from the apartments approx 100yards to the left is an excellent taverna set in a garden, the front doesn't look busy but walk through the back and a beatiful surprise awaits you. Maria, the owner is a delightful woman and a very nice hostess.
directly opposite the apartments is a cafe where you can get excellent snacks.

there are buses regularly to the capital and also to other resorts further down the coast, all are air-conditioned and extremely comfortable

Mike and Nikki run the bar as a franchise from the owner Eva. Nikki is there during the day and Mike takes over at night, shutting whenever the last customer leaves. His food is exceptional and his mousakka is out of this world, the stay at Sunset is worth it for this alone!! He has a Greek night, when the moussaka is served as a starter and also a BBQ night, both of which are magnificent fun, if there is a good number attending- as we were at the end of the season the numbers were diminishing but certainly enough still to have a good time. The beach is right beside the apartments and nice and sandy. I discovered at the end of the holiday that a dip in the pool first meant that the sea felt like a hot bath if you went into it straight away! As the pool saw very little sun at this time of the year then the best I can say for it is bracing!! I have not mentioned Eva, the owner. she too is an exceptionally nice person who could not be more helpful The rooms are clean and tidy, the views whether beach side or mountain side are lovely. Last to be mentioned is Tracy, the holiday rep. She again is one person her company should be proud of, very professional without being pushy, very knowlegable on the local information and will point you in the right direction for what is best for you.would I go back again and without hesitation the answer is yes

One word of warning- beware the raki!!!
