After reading numerous reviews we went with an open mind, and found it to be excellent. As the description says it is very hilly, but you got what it said on the tin! Those that complained about there room not being as pictured, then must have looked on the wrong web site, we knew that there were fancy rooms with your own pool but also that there were standard rooms, which is what we were expecting, however to our shock we did get a fancy room, in that it was a standard room with a ladder from balcony to pool. The pools are all salt water but very clean although freezing. The food was fab, a great choice and would cater for even those that are fussy eaters. The pizza & pasta was gorgeous, I lived on this. The entertainment was ok and they did try there best. You were sat in rows, but the drink was free as this was part of the all inclusive. There was also a bar and disco up the road, which we went to most nights to watch the footy/rugby etc. They also have pool tables, games machines etc. All the staff were friendly and would do as much as they could for you. I would highly recommend going, we had a fun time and would go back.

Overall we feel we got value for money but didnt get what we expected, the rooms that are shown on the pictures you dont get and they dont show the rooms that are at the top of a massive hill. and thats where we got ours. the room was spacious and clean but was in a terrible location as we had to walk up a steep hill and then stairs which was not practical in the heat. god forbid we forgot anything. i dont know how this is supposed to work if you have children. the food was lovely but very repetative which i understand all inclusives are but no difference some days. there is no entertainment on site at night, this is another walk down and up hills. and when you get there it wasnt up to a 4 star standard, it is set out completly wrong with very cheap furniture, like a cinema setting so you cannot sit around and chat. the staff tried but it was boring. the hotel staff ie waiters and barmen were very friendly and worked hard. the view from the hotel is wonderful and overlooks the sea as youre sunbathing but again thats because the location is in the middle of nowhere. there is no telephones that you can put change in so we were forced to use the very expensive telephone in our room so i suggest you get mobiles sorted as it would be cheaper! we had 1 trip down to the beach which was a huge task even for us who are very healthy and young, stairs and hills again, a lot of them! i would never return to this resort again but had a good holiday nevertheless.

After a 6hr delay, couldn't wait to get to hotel. Although I paid for transfers £110, they didn't have my details so ended up having to get taxis - €25 each way. Transfers seem to be a bit of a rip off when you can get a taxi for €50 from and to airport. We had booked a Family Superior Room and we were not disappointed. Just off the patio we had a pool. My only quibble is that you only get a table and 2 chairs on outside patio. As a family room, 4 chairs should be allocated. Toilet was large and clean. We had a double room with glass dividers and two sofa beds on other side leading out to patio. Air conditioning is in double room but nothing in other room. A ceiling fan would have been useful. Maids in every day and towels changed every day. Food was good, something for everyone. I think my son lived on freshly made pizza's for 2 weeks. Staff in restaurant are brilliant. Really good set up, no dirty dishes lying about. Tables cleared and changed quickly for next family to sit at. Bar staff friendly, especially Harris. My only complaint about the bar area is that some people come up from the pool soaking wet and walk into bar area soaking the tiles which makes it extremely dangerous. The pool area is also quite slippy. Saw a few people falling hurting themselves.
Not alot to do for my 12 and 15 year old children. There was one table tennis table and one air hockey table and 2 internet stations. Not a lot for a complex of it's size. A couple of pool tables would be good. Entertainment was poor. You have to walk down hill to a theatre and chairs are set up in rows. Being indoors is not my idea of fun when it's about 35 degrees and above. There is room up on poolside for some entertainment to be held which is something they should think about. We were under the impression that we could use the other hotels within the Mitsis Village - Norida and Summer Palace but this was not the case, only people with black bands can use these. Black bands were never offered or explained as to how you get them but a few rooms on route to our room had them and they got delivery of water, beer and juice every day - mostly German's. It would have been good to have a bit a variety to where you ate/drank each night as the nearest town is Kardemena. Only 9 € in a taxi or free if you can get on free shuttle bus. We went one evening to Kardemena but was glad when we were coming home at 10p.m. That's when all the hen and stag parties start going out. The morning bus shuttle seems to hold more staff than tourists and you can only book it the day you want to use it. So if you're not up early you haven't got a hope in hell. Went to Kos for the day - lovely town. Shops, bars and restaurants galore. The harbour area is lovely as well. Well worth a visit.
All in all had a great relaxing holiday but resort definitely too out of the way.

As the hotel name suggests, this really is a great hotel for the family, we went during term time, and there was still many children there, i would'nt recommend this hotel for a couple, the kids were not loud though, too busy eating icecreams, which they could help themselves to all day as well as sausage rolls and slices of sponge cake.
We stayed in a family room, a door and window separated us from the kids, we had a balcony that overlooked a pool, this pool was accessible for the room below us by a ladder and the room below them had direct access, i wish we had gone for that room!
The hotel boasts so many pools, the main two being a large salt water pool, very deep, the shallow part is small and covers the entrance to the pool, we were glad we brought armbands for our youngest. there is a baby pool near this pool, not salty, and very shallow, its small though and gets dirty quickly we noticed a yellowish colour to the water!
The other pool is chlorine with two fantastic slides and a basic bar, no sunbeds around this pool just plastic chairs, which was a shame.
The entertainment is clearly aimed at just children, the reps are amazing the main person speaks 8 languages. most nationalities there were german, british, italian.
the beach is beautiful, its shingle which i love, no irritating sand sticking to you. the sea water is glorious and amazingly clear, we had little fish swimming by our feet.
i would recommend using the lift back up to the hotel, unless you are very fit and enjoy a challenge, however this lift only takes you a third of the way up, it stops at the summer palace, then there are more hills to climb. we stayed in room 806 which is one of the furthest away, my partner and i lost a few pounds on this holiday! so i cant complain.
honestly though if you dont like walking dont stay here.
Getting on to the food, fabulous, we all loved going for our meals. the choice is great, we had something different every night, the pizza is made infront of you as well as crepes, with every topping you can think of. of course there is the wonderful greek salad with feta cheese. the beans and sausages are not what we are use to, but ther is so much choice its not an issue.
the waiters are wonderful always smiling and service is speedy. the evening receptionist is a bit stroppy, but you cant have everything. A few small points, the tv in our room did'nt work and there is a fridge but this is empty, the room next to us had a full fridge of drinks, when we mentioned this, they said it was a summer palace room (5*) which seemed odd to us.
There is a free bus to take you to kardamena which you book first thing in the morning, it drops you back off at the hotel too, last one is 10pm, and the bus is packed!
All in all this was a great holiday we had a fabulous time, the beer was'nt watered down it was lovely the snacks are poor though, the ham rolls were old and should be avoided. we took fruit at breakfast time and took that to the pool ar beach. If you want a sunbed at the beach, i recommend getting up at 6am and putting a towel on it, they are gone by 7.30ish. no problem with sunbeds at the pool we could find spares before 10am.
If you are willing to spend a bit more, i would go to the norida instead, no hills, and although its only one star more than the family, its a world of difference, very luxurious.

I am so glad that i never read the other review before i left England as it would have put me off and i would not have gone! I had a particularly bad time last year in clubmac majorca where my whole family and lots of other guests were ill so was having panic attacks thinking that we would get ill again on this holiday. And this time i was nearly 5months pregnant so particularly weary. Myself, partner and 2 children, aged 8 and 2 really enjoyed this holiday as it was so relaxing.
The food was cooked freshly in front of us and there was always a good selection, if trying new dishes such as rabbit, veal, moussaka etc is not your thing or you have fussy kids there was always burgers, pizzas and chips and lots of ice cream and cakes! Yes the snacks were rather laim, but we all ate so well at breakfast lunch and dinner we didn't need to snack in between. On our last day there looked like food safety guys in the restaurant doing checks which did make me have confidence that they were doing things properly, but in hindsight it could have been to previously low standards or illness etc.
I wasn't aware of diluted beer as i couldn't drink anyway but hubby didn't really complain and there was juice on top for me and kids so we didn't have to queue up either.
I believed that we could use other facilities but this wasn't the case, only the bar in Norida near the waterslides, not the restaurants etc. THe only downside to this holiday was that you could n't really walk to kardamena you have to cab it there and there was no payphone on the whole complex. The superior family room was absolutely fantastic as was the view from our balcony and the location to family village restaurant and pool. It was great having our own pool off the balcony and also individually controlled Aircon in the room.
I must say that everyone there was enjoying their holiday and i didn't hear any complaints about the hotel. But before i booked this last minute holiday i was looking at other reviews for other hotels, in kiotari, larnaca, kos town, and it amazed me at how the reviews for the same hotels and complexes differ from family to family, and leads me to believe that you can really only go from our own experiences and not other peoples and our tastes, believes and expectations all differ so much!
Therefore i dont think i will bother to read other reviews on future holidays.

We were so looking forward to an all inclusive 4star plus rating hotel, reviews we read on the sight made it sound great but when we got there whole different story.
The hotel was more like a 2 star. It also said we could use the facilities of the sister hotels Norida & Summer Palace, this was not the case. The food was very basic and tended to be the same every night. With regards to the snacks all this turned out to be was hot dogs and stale ham & cheese rolls and a couple of sponge cakes, same every day. The beer was watered down and the pepsi. As soon as we arrived we found out there had been a virus there for approximately 6-7wks before we arrived, people were dropping like flies. We found out that over a 8 wk period approx 150 people went down with this virus. No-one had been informed which I found incredible because we should of been given the option of whether we wanted to go there or not as I am pregnant and also have a 5yr old son. My son dehydrated so much within 24 hours he lost over a stone in weight and ended up in hospital on drips for a few days. Everyone was blaming the hotel and the hygiene standards in the restaurant. It was a holiday nightmare we went for a rest and came back more stressed than when we went. We've been back nearly a week and my son is still not at school because he has not recovered and my husband is still suffering from the virus. Anyone planning on going there should think again, according to the locals in the town it happens every year at this hotel.
Needless to say we shall be seeking compensation.

If you have a family this is an ideal holiday however as I was with my girlfriend we did not really appreciate this as we were there to relax. The resort is about 1-2 miles away from the town of Kardemaina that has plenty of resteraunts and shops full of the usual.
I love Greece and think it has a lot to offer for tourist destination but the Euro has killed it I would recommned an all inclusive or Half board as it;s getting as dear as the UK.
The food was very good and had a good variety however the drinks were diabolic, one lager on tap that was to gasy, the wine tastes like vinegar, good variety of cocktails. There was no quiete areas around the hotel mainly beacuse it's full of brash Germans. Enterainment well forget it it makes Butlins look like royal variety show, it could really do with a cinema at least. We stayed in room 502 that was strategically located right next to the entrance near the kids crech so when you relax on your balcony you will occasionly see a coach of people look straight in and sounds of kids crying. The air conditioning in our room was a pain in the **** and after 4 hours dripped water on my head and woke me up every morning I could not move the bed as it was fixed. So avoid rooms 501 to 504. The pool was salt water but had a fresh water shower there a few water slides which were fun and the beach was not far with lots of freebee water sports make sure you take a windsurfing certificate if you want to have a go. Last of all the staff were great like always the Greeks are always hospitable and lovely family people that is why I chose Greece but will give it a miss next time as it's getting to expensive.
