My wife and I decided to get away at the last minute for an escape to Eastern Europe. Our friends had been to Krakow last summer and said that it was a hidden gem that we should consider. We went online, to Google of course :-). And typed in Krakow Aparments. Luckily we... more

The best points of the Rocamar Hotel is that it is over looking the sea and is just a few minutes walk to the main centre. The hotel is very clean and the staff helpful. The TV has a lot of English programes for you to watch. The down side is that there is no tea making... more

Rocomar excellent location, breakfast basic but plenty to go at. Rooms clean and tidy but ensure that you dont choose a room on the pool level as that will become your balcony!!! apart from that good clean safe and modern. The Rocomar is a short walk away down the hill to the old town but also a short hill climb on the return.

Just returned from a long weekend at the Rocamar and thought I’d add a few words for what they’re worth. We always read the reviews here carefully prior to booking as we’re independent travellers , but we took a bit of a gamble this time as the hotel had been... more

LOVED the Rocamar!
Well i was very shocked to here the last review of this hotel as they were there at the same time as me, I have a completly different opinion. The hotel was excellent, the food was good, the rooms were gorgeous and clean (and smell free), and i also found the hotel reception very helpful. I think those people were wrong to write a bad review on here, they should have actually spoken to the hotel itself when they were staying there because i am sure they would have provided some help. Our room had two single beds and we found one of the beds... more
walked away feeling swindled.
My husband and I stayed at the Rocamar in May of 2007.Our stay with them started off quite well. Rooms are clean although there is a repugnant smell in the room that requires guests to keep their windows open all the time. The hotel does ask you keep the balcony closed over night. I can't imagine why as if you are anything like me I quite enjoy falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing to shore. Here is our biggest problem with this property. While on our stay there my husband used our room phone to make 5 calls, each call but one... more
Loved it, loved it, loved it!!!
We were there the last week in April for my 25th birthday. We had an absolutely fantastic experience! Rocamar is a beautiful hotel, far better than any of the others we saw on the way and while we were there! We had room 430 (on the 4th floor) its a sea view room, although our balcony was very sheltered so didn't really get any sun, the room was large and airy and right on the corner, so no worry of noisy neighbours either side, and you could hear the waves gently lapping the shore at night - absolute bliss! The pool is less... more
Nice position nice hotel
We stayed at the Rocamar for a week in March 07. We had an enjoyable stay and contrary to other reviewers found the staff diligent and friendly. I would recommend paying the extra to get a sea (& sun) view as the back of the hotel has a road running alongside it and the refuse wagon wakes you up at 3.00 every morning. However on the sea side I wouldn't particularly want a 3rd floor room as you have no balcony and you look out onto the sun-deck and mini swimming pool. We spent a lot of time soaking up the sun on the sun-deck and the... more
great location,great hotel !
just returned home after staying a week at the rocamar, lovely clean hotel spectacular views and its in a great location right on the beach. We upgraded to sea view room when we got there ( room 410) at a cost of 50 euros for the week, so glad we did,to wake up in the morning to the sound of the waves is just perfect. The rooms are very modern and cleaned every day. we stayed B&B i'm glad we chose that option because our half board fellow guests didnt rate the evening meals much. Breakfast is enuogh to keep you going until lunchtime and there... more
nice place, shame about the breakfast...
found this place after trawling through many many websites and i am glad i was patient and we stayed here... the price is excellent, hunt around as you may stumble across a deal which we did, i think it worked out around about £20 a night per person. whatever you do after you have booked this place DO NOT rely on a taxi from faro airport, get the hotel book it for you (unles you get a package deal). the ride from the airport was scarey to say the least, we were travelling at 160km/h (100mph) for quite a bit of the journey in the... more

Fab Hotel - Tasteful!
I suspect that this hotel has had enough praise from visitors on Trip Advisor that is why we booked it. In summary, a super hotel, so many others can learn from the Rocamar Beach Hotel. I have enclosed some pictures for added enjoyment! Right beside the old town, you can walk to the town via a lovely coast path in a couple of minutes. more

My partner and I stayed at the Rocamar in October 2006. It was our first visit to Portugal and Albufeira and I must say we were not dissapointed. The Rocamar is and ideal location for the visiting the old town of Albufeira with stunning views of the coast. The walk down to the square may not suit everyone but we thought it was worth it for the location. The hotel rooms were very clean with maid service every day. The buffet breakfast was very good with a selection of continental and english style breakfast to suit everyones... more

My husband and I spent 10 glorious days in the Algarve, beginning of the December 2006. The weather was pleasant. Neither of us are sun worshippers, a sweatshirt during the day...peel it off in the sun. And a light coat in the evenings. We had a room with sea view- room 106- ABSOLUTE HEAVEN. The service was excellent. We couldnt have wished for more. We had booked 2 excursions when we had to leave before breakfast time. On request, a basket of goodies was left in our room the night before. The only thing I missed was a kettle and... more
