Absolutely fantastic hotel. Recently renovated, the rooms are at a very high standard. Each room has its own individual design and character giving it charm. The services in the rooms is great - plasma screen tv with in-built facilities enabling you to surf the internet... more

More like a club 18-30 hotel
Not a place to relax at the weekends. After a very cold welcome from one of the reception staff we arrived at our room where we soon discovered that the bed had not been made properly, these were promptly addressed when we contacted the reception. Additionally, there was paint crumbling off the fittings in the bathroom and no wireless Internet or bottled water despite being an “executive” room. On the Friday we found dirty bed linen left on the floor in our room after housekeeping had cleaned the room. A very uncomfortable and noisy bed. Aside from these little annoyances, the frustrating part of our stay was our last night. We had decided to have an early night ready for our early departure the next day. However, we soon discovered that this was not going to be possible as our room was immediately above the disco which was very loud and went on until late. This was then followed by revellers making a lot of noise in the corridor, including blowing party whistles and a mistaken attempt to get into our room, each occurring at various intervals until around 5am. I alerted the reception but of course there was nothing they could do. After only a few hours sleep we left very disappointed after a disappointing breakfast with no fresh fruit available. Of course the behaviour of the other guests is out of their control however, locating rooms immediately adjacent to a late night disco is short sighted and not fitting to a “luxury spa hotel”. I found staying at the hotel more like stumbling into a club 18-30 apartment rather than the 4 star luxury it claims to be. At £160 per night I would expect the hotel to notify us that the room is adjacent to a night-club. Aside from these misgivings we enjoyed the health club, the wedding arrangements were great and aside from the girl who checked us in we found the staff friendly and helpful although obviously some management teething problems. So if you plan to visit at the weekend either gate crash the party or insist on a room on the top floor.
Loved the room, idealic location
As a professional meeting planner I stayed in this hotel, on business, for one night in September. The hotel is very clean, modern and funky. I had a good size room with an area to work and sofa. Room service was very quick and the location and views are great. The only negative comment would be that the receptionist supervisor on the front desk could do with losing a little of the attitude and be more customer focused/friendly - she forgot to book my alarm call so thank goodness I was not relying on that solely, otherwise I would have missed a crucial client meeting; she was also reluctant to assist with removing a staple out of a photocopy so as not to damage her nails and the hotel were not very flexible with a late check-out of only an hour later. Other than that I would definately stay again, it is a fabulous venue. In-room: fast speed internet, tea and coffee facilities, ironing and ironing board, toiletries.
Boutique chic!
Booked a room late August via lastminute, got room only for £68 for the night - a bargain. Manchester City football team were checking out as we checked in (4.30pm), and our room wasn't ready, so we were upgraded to an available exec room with a view. Excellent room, 'boutique chic' dark -ish - bar for the snowy white linen. Modern slate tiled shower, square sink, nifty door arrangement in the bathroom. Very comfortable and nice .White Company toiletries. I liked the modern art (look out for the pics of cows!) Enjoyed a drink on the terrace pre dinner. Dinner menu around £24 (? ) per head for table d'hote 2 courses. Ordered the roasted veg soup, cream of wild mushroom arrived, not what we had ordered. The roasted veg soup had run out, but the waiting staff should have been advised this. Meal was otherwise excellent. Tried to get us to sign twice (bar and then in restaurant) for our bottle of wine. Keep your wits about you and watch your bill as the left hand is not sure of the right hand is doing service wise here. Didn't get to use the pool, it is in a separate building. Notwithstanding a few shortcomings, I would absolutely go here again, especially as it is not far from Bristol airport and there is a shortage of hotels near that location. (No aircraft noise at Cadbury House) The rooms are very luxurious, however, the staff need some further training and supervision as the place is beautifully appointed but lack organisation and maybe a bit of supervision on the service side.
Beautiful views, lots of potential, but not quite there yet
Booked at last minute, secured the last room of the hotel, which was on the 4th floor. The room was very well decorated, huge mirrors, great photos, flat-screen TV but slightly dark; not quite sue what it would be like in the winter. The bed was fantastic - king size and very comfortable - and the bathroom was very smart; was a little surprised and disappointed not to have a bath, but I guess that's environmentally friendly design for you! The bar was well-stocked and reasonably priced; the wine list was equally comprehensive and we had a delightful Fleurie for £23. The food was quite disappointing: the menu teased our tastebuds with dishes that have been thoughtfully put together with local produce, and the presentation was top-notch; however, the flavours just didn't seem to come together as promised. I had the prawns to start; followed by the lamb, and then a rhubarb and cinnamon crumble; the apricot which accompanied the lamb was lost, as was the cinnamon in the crumble (which thus did nothing to enhance the under-cooked rhubarb). The breakfast was equally disappointing; not freshly cooked, thus the buffet was kept warm via burners which totally ruined the scrambled egg, which ended up rubbery, and the remainder of the food was mostly luke-warm. That said, the cold breakfast offerings were fine. Check-out was something of a drama, with three attempts needed to get my bill right, and then they seem to have charged my credit card with futher expenses which landed on my doormat this morning - and after phone calls and promises of we'll call you back, I'm still waiting 9 hours later for resolution of. It probably has something to do with other people charging drinks at the bar to my room (beware and pay cash for your drinks at the time) - the bar staff were somewhat lax at checking your reservation card. We were told that the hotel has only been open for a few months; and as such it can be forgiven its teething troubles; however I would probably hesitate to stay there again for the next few months just to make sure that everything's sorted out.
restored fath
after comming to expect the worst from british hotels we were over the moon to find a hotel that we would be happy to come back to we booked at the last moment and it was a toss up between cadbury house and the bath priory hotel boy are we glad we picked this one we are fans of modern hotels and this one has it right the food is simple and good and they dont rip you of on the price breakfast was also well done and the staff helpful and polite frendly but not in your face our room was an executive room all that was left when we booked it was great with a decent shower a deep bath and all clean and looked after we had a great veiw from our room and everything we could want in it but we spent the afternoon on the sunny terrace enjoying afternoon tea (great ) and cocktails and chillin all in all one of the best hotels stays i have had in this country hotel barcelona in exeter needs to visit to see how to do it
Will be nice when it's finished!
Myself and my wife went to a wedding here on May 27th and stayed the night. On first impression it was a very nice, stylish looking place, albeit with an unfinished, muddy car park resembling a building site. We arrived at 3:30pm to be told our room wasn't ready, despite them having a check-out time of 11am and a check-in time of 2pm. A receptionist did show us to our room and never once offered to help carry our bags, but was very pleasant all the same. We just left our bags in the room as we had a reception to go to. We'd booked a Deluxe room as there were no Standard rooms left but, frankly, there wasn't anything about it that would convince me it was anything but standard, particularly in terms of size. It was very stylishly decorated though and had a nice Hi-Def TV. It still smelt of paint though. Also the lifts were not yet functional which is pretty difficult with luggage and a pregnant wife. At 4:30pm my wife went back to the room and it was STILL being cleaned! In the bar we were told that we couldn't charge drinks to our room as the machine wasn't working and "hopefully" it would be working by the evening. The wedding breakfast was very nice, well cooked, good quality food. Breakfast was also very nice, but not all the items advertised on the menu were available. Several other friends of ours also stayed here and experienced much worse than us - problems ranged from being told there was no breakfast left(!) to a room full of smoke from the kitchens. All in all we had a great day, but that's mainly despite the hotel not because of it. I don't doubt it'll be fabulous in a few months time but they really shouldn't have opened before it was finished. There's plenty of work still to do.
Nice hotel but.....
We booked the hotel knowing that it had only been open a week or so; hence maybe there might be teething problems but didn't expect as many as we got! I booked it for a family get together for a b-day. On booking I asked 1) Were there any functions on (I was told no) and 2) Could I book a table for the evening meal (I was advised it wasn't neccessary - I could book it on the day. This was booked a week before our arrival. We 'phoned the night before only to be told they had two weddings on Sunday and would not be able to book a table as the resturant would be in use. After a few calls by my sister, we arranged an upgrade of one of the rooms and we would have room service in this suite. We arrived to lots of chaos! We were told we could check in at 2pm - we eventually got our rooms at 6pm. We had 2 infants with us and were put in a room where to wait - ordered some drinks but they never arrived. The lift was not yet functioning (3 floors with buggys, cots etc was fun!) We heard lots of complaints while we were there. 2 of the rooms were on the 2nd floor - you could hear the music from the disco clearly word for word which went on till gone 2am. Saying this, The Cadbury will be a lovely hotel, the staff were very nice but organisation was choatic. The club (pool, gym etc) was great. I do not feel it was ready to open, and esp. dealing with 6 weddings over a weekend. We were told the manager was away all w.e. We did get compensation but it did spoil the w.e. Will I go back???? Not for quite a while. I
