Kerala Bamboo House

Stayed at Kerala Bamboo House for two nights in December 2005. This is basic accommodation for travellers but it is very clean, excellently located, and extremely comfortable. There are around eight bamboo huts around a central courtyard. Each hut contains traditional Keralan dark wood furniture, a ceiling fan, mosquito net, and a clean ensuite bathroom with western-style toilet and a perfectly functional shower (although cold water only). It is only seconds away from the cliff with its many restaurants and shops, and of course the beach. There are no other facilities but they really aren't needed with all Varkala's amenities on the doorstep. We paid US$10 per night, which really is a steal for this type of accommodation. --------
