Argassi Athena Studios

I have just arrived back from a weeks self catering holiday at the Argassi Athena. On first impression after arriving from a delayed flight, I thought the hotel looked promising, until my guest room door was opened!
As with most self catering options you would firstly expect a well equiped kitchen. What can you cook for a week with two hobs and a kettle? The fridge was sufficiant although did make a horrendous noise throughout the whole of my stay! So, mealtime over time to clear away! No dish cloths, and no tea towel!
in the bathroom I had a continuosly running tap, and a bathroom mat that had seen better days!
All in all I think the hotel has seen better days, and sadly also let down by Old Mama Athena, who seems to run the place with an iron fist!

We spent two weeks at the Athina Studios last August and we had a lovely time. As it was our first time in Zante we had no idea what to expect, and when we got there we were pleasantly surprised. We had a great time at the studios. Yes they were basic but what do you expect for £450!! They were comfortable and clean and set in a great location... what more could we ask for! I still miss the peaceful morning swims I took in the pool with Mount Skopos as the backdrop... Just breathtaking!
The family who run The Athina really made our stay. They were all so welcoming and full of helpful advice about places to visit during our short time there. One morning we were also given fresh dates to eat collected from the trees just outside our balcony! I wish we were back there now!!
All in all we had a fantastic stay, and would definitely recommend the apartments for anybody wanting to visit the beautiful island of Zakynthos on a shoestring.

just come back from aweeks holiday at the athina studios not what i was expected the very basic rooms were not cleaned while we were there the sheets were not changed and we had one change of towels. we had to pay 40 euros aweek for air con. the pool area was clean. Argassi is ok not much entertainment in the bars. we used legends (great meals) and the beer academy great bars!!!. zorbas was areally nice greek restaurant very busy and good food!!. the village waterpark is agood day out but looks like abuilding site and the food is expensive. We had atrip into zante (what adump)
