I first went to stay at Kalypso 7 years ago with my then partner. I returned again to stay on my own a few years later. I like this property so much - I think there were some renovations done as my room on the second visit had a proper bath.
I think the owner and his family probably found it a shock that one of their studios was rented by someone who didn't actually go to Kavos for the nightlife! They were all very friendly to me, I think because I didn't take the mick in any way.
I went to book the Kalypso in summer '09 and Olympic Holidays did not feature it in their brochure, which they do not appear to be again this year :(
I think the weather in Kavos is outstanding and as I was a lone traveller the second time around, I was reluctant to try somewhere new and stuck to familiarity.
I would highly recommend the 'Golden Fleece' taverna which is on the main strip. They serve delicious food and the staff are very friendly. The same man on both visits was there to greet customers every morning.

We turned up at this place about 3am.....walked up a dirt track to the hotel...The rooms were basic but surprisingly clean.
The Mosquitos are IMPOSSIBLE to get rid of, many a night trying to murder them.
40 euros for a safe (reccomended). The pool area is clean, there is also a bar where you can get snacks and drinks.
the location of this place is perfect. about a 5 minute walk to the Strip.
However on the last day you have the option to keep the room for an extra 30 euro....we kept the room but then did a runner and had the owner chasing us up and down the strip on a moped..
Overall Kavos is amazing for younger people....anybody over 30 or with a girlfriend..dont bother, Oh and PR's will do your head in

Only home from a week long stay at the kalypso, wat can i say the apartments r basic n clean. it is about a 3 minute walk from the main strip in kavos, which can say is completly mental. this place is for people between 18-28 because al u get the whole way up is bars n clubs which r packd ot al nite long. Its a gud spot for the party goers cause it just never stops but wuld be hard til last al nite because of the drink offers which in sum bars r watered dwn but in others completly blow ur head of.
Only thing is 90% of the ppl there r english
