This was my 3rd trip to Florida but my first stay in the Double Tree, I was so impressed by the place and the service that we have already booked our next holiday to Florida and will again be staying in The Double tree at the entrance to Universal. The room was perfect for... more

Myself, my husband and our 14 yr old son spent 10 nights in the doubletree, food was great staff was great, room was great. At first I thought that we may have a problem as we booked this holiday independently, and had to arrange our own transfers etc, as we were traveling... more

dirty, dirty, dirty
Upon check in, we were first assigned a room which we quickly requested another due to the musty odor present. So we checked into our next room, it had an odor also. There was mold present in the shower. We had no towels or wash cloths in the room and when we called the concierge we were told that the hotel was at full capacity and because of that none were available and that we were to use hand towels in place of towels and wash cloths. When we got ready for bed we pulled back the sheets and there were blood stains along with pubic... more
Loved this hotel
My husband and I stayed at the Doubletree Hotel just last weekend. We enjoyed our selfs so much. We drove to Orlando without a hotel reservation and we were worried we wouldn't be able to get one. I called the hotel and the Reservation department was super nice. When we checked in, we received 2 free Chocolate chip cookies. HOW COOL!! I didn't want to leave to come home. The room was very nice and clean. The pool was huge and heated. All the hotel staff was nice and always said Hi and Bye when we passed by them. It was in walking distance of... more
Great Hotel and Value
Stayed at the Doubletree May 1 for 4 nights. It is right across the street from Universal and is a 10 minute walk. The hotel (recently purchased by Doubletree/Hilton) was clean and the staff was friendly. Rooms are good size and were cleaned every day. Got a great deal through AAA, $64/night for a double. Great pool; breakfast buffett was fine for the price. This is an ideal place if you are spending all your time at Universal although you can just hop on I-4 to get to Disney in about 15 minutes. Will definately stay there again.
Perfect Mother's Day Getaway!
We recently spent Mother's Day weekend at the Doubletree-Universal Entrance. Because this was the last Mother's Day before my eldest turns 18 and heads off to shcool and the great beyond, I wanted to make sure it would be a fun weekend for everyone. Well, this place hit the mark! (Doubletree only recently took ownership of the property, and are already diligently striving to make it truly part of the Hilton family.) My husband flew in to surprise the kids, and the hotel staff helped to keep our little secret under wraps and make it a BIG... more
Loved It!!!
This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The facilities are fantastic with a great bar, food court and pool. Every member of staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful, especially the staff in Scuba Joe's which also does great food. The room was spotless with everything you need supplied. It is also within walking distance to Universal Studies and Islands of Adventure which are not to be missed! Nobody should leave Orlando without going on the Back To The Future Ride and Spiderman!!! Would def. stay there again... more
very disappointing stay
My husband and I stayed at this hotel in February 2004. I guess we got one of the unrenovated rooms! Furnishings were very dated and worn, the cupboard door was broken, the internet tv did not work and it smelt! In fact I felt the whole hotel was very "tired" looking and run down. The house-keeping staff were the worst I have ever encountered. One day the room was not cleaned at all - not something to look forward to when returning to the room at night after a full day out. When it was cleaned, glasses and mugs were not cleaned or replaced... more
Great Hotel
We absoulutely loved this place. My husband, infant son, and myself stayed here July 4th weekend 2004 for three night. We booked this hotel through hotwire and was pleasantly surprised at arrival. Check in went well. Our room was clean with nice furniture. It had two double beds with a small sitting area. No problems with any noise during our stay. The pool was a nice size and there is also a kiddie pool also. There is nice deli and ice cream store down stairs that my husband loved. We had originally only booked two nights and were... more
Struck lucky here, 17th floor heaven
We really had a great stay for a week at the new year 03/04. We were booked into one room me my wife and our 24year old son by our useless travel agents, even though we had paid for two rooms. The hotel put us into a two room suite at their own expense, at a time when the hotel was full. We can not thank the staff enough for there kindness and of course great business sense. We will stay again and I will be writing to UK travel companies to explain how a great hotel operates. The hotel was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated well located... more
If you're going to Universal...
the Raddison is right down the street. Good location, not expensive, good shower, game room for kids, and pool. We had a broken light in our room, but overall its okay.
STINKY, STINKY, STINKY!!! Unless you have no sense of smell stay away!!
I recently stayed at Radisson Universal for 5 days and I must say it was the worst! The entire floor smelled so badly due to no ventilation. No windows open at all. It smelled like 50 years worth of cigarette smoke, I even had to buy room fresheners to help cover the smell to no avail. I am a smoker and this was enough to make me quit! The bathroom was not cleaned the entire time nor was the trash taken out. If you are planning a visit DO NOT STAY HERE, try Westgate Lakes Resort, that place is beautiful and right down the street!
