Canto Del Sol Plaza Vallarta Hotel

What a great week. The staff was quite attentive in the restaurant and around the pool. You are never without a drink if you so choose. The shows at night were quite unexpected, costumes and stage were wonderfully done. The food was good. Try some of the Mexican specialties at each meal. It got busy by Thursday, but still was fun. The beach was the disappointing part. Last year's hurricane made most of it disappear. The pool is loud and busy with activities, so be prepared. Overall I would recommend, just beware of the rude Canadians.

Continental Plaza is a place for teens/students and Budget families!! It's that simple! It's a 3 1/2 star hotel, the people that went there and thought it was horrific were probably just some unrealistic budget folks wanting a fansy hotel in Mexico but then went with the cheap choice. The two just don't mix. If you are going to stay at a 3.5 star hotel do yourself a favour and lower those expectations!! Upon arrival, the lobby is lovely, being very open and with a view of the pool and bay. We were first given a room on the 1st floor with no balcony and only a view of the pool. After asking the bellman for another room we were given a room on the 3rd floor with a partial view of the ocean. The furniture is very old and the dresser drawer was broken. There was a TV, but no remote. There are no extras except for a tiny bottle of a shampoo/conditioner and a tiny bar of soap. They do not provide wash clothes. The beds are hard! No give... more

I went to P.V. on my senior spring break and it was way better than I expected. We travled through FUNJET vacation and they were great. Every morning they had a represenitive in the lobby of the hotel to tell us what's going on and tips on where to go. When you first get to the hotel there is this shopping plaza that you have to go through to get to the hotel. The plaza is nice, it includes a few resturants, a bank, lots of shopping and tons more. From the minute we walked into the cool open air lobby at the Canto del Sol, we were more than pleasantly surprised. We generally do backpacking vacations, but decided to go all-inclusive with our two children, ages 5 years and 10 months. The kids club was wonderful for our 5 year old, and the pool was ideal for both children, especially the 2 and 4 inch deep sections for our baby. 5 star give me a break i would rate it between 3 and 4. nice place but not 5 nice. food was average at best hope you don't like mexican food because they didn't have any. beer was out of quart bottles so was okay mixed drinks were extremely watered down. as i was drinking mai tais and i don't usually drink and they had no effect after many. the prices in the restaurants were rather high as high as the states in my estimation and the food at most places we went we found to be mostly average. getting back to the canto which it is now called... more

My husband and I took our first trip to PV March 23-30. We opted for the all-inclusive package at Canto Del Sol and got a great room on the third floor with a view of the interior courtyard and pool, as well as the Pacific. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful, even rescuing a friend's stolen purse with all the money intact! I gained 5 pounds thanks to the terrific food, the menus were awesome. Just don't forget your blow dryer AND don't forget to schedule a dinner in the Santa Maria Restaurant! We missed the Wed. night show... more

Continental Plaza was amazing! I went with my friend and her parents and our stay was awesome. The food was the best, the view was spectacular and the Activities people who worked there were really fun and they made our stay awesome.

RESORT: the resort was AMAZING and extremely BEAUTIFUL! it was located at a great spot which was only 5 minutes away by taxi and 15 minutes away walking. There were so many fun activities available (tequila volleyball was my favorite). The food was very YUMMY!
