We stayed here in August 2009. Pool was excellent for the children. Location couldn't have been better, close to shops, bus route etc... The hotel is a nice size, not too big and rowdy. The staff were courteous and friendly.
However, the accommodation was below standard. The decor was shabby, the bathroom, tiles and all were given a coat of gloss paint. Fittings were old and the wear and tear was showing. TV was a small portable sitting high on wall bracket with dodgy controls. Sofa bed was broken and kept up with a rough piece of timber just nailed to bed! Not the best range of cutlery or kitchen ware.
Having said that, the location was good and the children really enjoyed the pool and grass area.Ask at reception and hire a bicycle for a few days. While we would go back to Albufeira we wouldn't stay again at Valmangude.

We stayed here from 17 oct until 24 oct,weather was in the 30s, staff very polite , the small bar was kept open until late evening even though we seemed to be the only ones using it, plenty snacks through the day , location , ideal , we are pensioners and it allowed us to walk to most areas around Albufeira, the local circular bus service was also near at hand for journeys more farther afield, pool area at this time of year was half full so no need for the obligatory towels on beds carry on, one incident when a group of everton supporters let themselves down , by causing a disturbanse in the early hours , but it was dealt with very quickly and the place quietened down again

Ive just come back from this hotel after 4 days on a Hen Party. The rooms are fantastic and for 4 girls all getting ready for a night out its plenty. The pool is very spacious and with lovely clean water and the pool side bar is great value for money. Based on what I went there for it was 10 out of 10 however, if I was travelling with my husband and daughter then I would not stay here due to them taking hen and stag do's on. There was a stag do there when we were and it was nt something your children would want to see however fine for couples or single sex groups. If you ve got a hen or stag do go here!!!!!!

I’m just back from the Valmangude apartments. There nice apartments & are very spacious, all apartments have pool view, there quite enough, not much entertainment at night.
It’s very relaxing by the pool and all staff are all very friendly. The pool bar is ok, the toilets are not very clean so I would suggest you use the toilets in your apartment or in the actually apartment block.
Its great for kids, they can stay in the pool until about 8pm.
The apartments are a great location about a 7 minute walk from the beach & strip and there are other bars & restaurants close by.

There were 6 of us travelled altogether, with my 2 children 3 and 8 years old, for a week’s holiday at the end of June.
The hotel and apartment was very spacious and clean. The hotel staff were very friendly and polite. The pool bar offered a variety of reasonably priced food. Both pools were great for the kids.
I'd definitely use these apartments again. The only downside is the noise from the traffic on the road directly outside, but that didn't spoil the holiday.
Its location is great for getting on to The Strip and into Albufeira old town. Would definitely recommend these apartments. Really enjoyed holiday.

Valmangude was very good value for money, the rooms were much bigger than we expected! The staff were friendly and helpful.
the pool area was very nice and calm, and the bar in the evening was quite entertaining, but other bars and clubs are a very short walk away on the strip, where there's something for everyone.
The walk to the beach was also much shorter than expected from the descriptions, and the local bus to the old town was very cheap.
It was suitable for young people (like me and my friends), couples and families.

I’ve just come back from one of the best and most relaxing holidays I’ve had.
The staff at the hotel were friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and very nice.
The pool area was excellent, cleaned everyday and the snacks were nice and reasonably priced.
Entertainment was ok but there are plenty of bars and restaurants locally and a great Chinese restaurant across the road.
Albulfeira is beautiful plenty to do for families lovely beaches.
I will definitely go back there again with my family whom also enjoyed it!

Valmangude Is the best holiday I’ve been on! Its ace and the pool is huge! Boiling weather and lots of entertainment. Staff are friendly and the apartments are really clean, the kitchens are ace and so is the shower
Really upset to have left, want to go back! You should really go, its really nice , inside is REALLY posh ;]
I would really want to go back but probably wont go back til march you should not miss the chance to go! Its really, really fun and the pool is best. p.s cocktails are ace too.

I thought the resort itself was good but just the accommodation was rubbish.
The pools was a good size and lovely views from the windows but the apartment when we went in it was not clean and the showers and bath was disgusting it was like rust on the walls and the toilet seat was always creaking so when someone needed to go toilet in the night everyone had to wake up for it.
The staff was very polite and very helpful. In this stay you have everythink there including English internet, 2 pools, pool bar, television, lifts, games room -1 etc. I really enjoyed getting out of the apartment because the maids was not cleaning it properly and i was disgusted.
In the night the entertainment went on until 4am in the morning so you would not be able to sleep even on the top floor and the children would be up all night.
The pools shut at 7pm so the children could not be able to stay in the pool at night if they have nothing else to do the drinks were expensive and couldn’t afforded it every night.

Just got back, had excellent time! Apartments were massive and very, very clean, all staff were really friendly. Pool area was spacious and again very clean, garden areas tended to more or less every day.
Albufeira is for all age groups young and old alike! Locals are friendly and always happy to help. I preferred the strip on a night out as the old town is more for couples and children.
