We returned 2 days ago from a fantastic holiday in orlando, we stayed at the Vista Cay apartments. Initially we booked a 2 bedroom apartment, however when we got there they had upgraded us to 3 bedrooms. The apartments really are a home from home with everything you could... more

Superb Resort To Stay In
Just back from 5 night stay at Vista Cay booked through Millennium who manage the rentals at the resort. Did a lot of research before choosing this place as we had particular requirements - didn't want to go to any of the parks, just wanted an up market condo resort with a good pool to relax at between shopping trips and with easy access to all of the malls and restaurants. Having read some of previous reviews I was a little bit sceptical and, given the particularly low price we paid, prepared to compromise when we arrived. We were very pleasantly surprised by all of Vista Cay. Having arrived much later than expected (7.30pm after a 2 hour wait at immigration as the computer systems were down) we were well looked after by Isaac and co in the Millennium reception house and were soon happily in our 3 bed condo. For the avoidance of doubt - in my opinion as a seasoned traveller from the UK compared to previous reviews by a US traveller - this IS a pretty up market resort. The condos are very well furnished and the standard is high – flat screen tv’s, Playstations, nice furniture and a superbly fitted kitchen all add up to a pretty impressive base for your holiday. Apparently the condos are individually owned so furnishings may vary but everyone we spoke to was more than delighted with their accommodation. The clubhouse was great with a pool which was virtually deserted during the day, free internet use, great gym, private movie theatre and a very helpful receptionist called Bobbi who couldn’t do enough for you. In fact that sums up ALL of the staff we met - happy to try that little bit harder to help you. Vista Cay is particularly well positioned for access to everything being about 2 minutes drive from the Bee Line Expressway and Interstate 4. There are a couple of good supermarkets within 5 mins drive and a new Publix is being built next door (and yes there may be a wee bit of noise from the builders but if you are here from the UK you will be up and awake long before they start work!). The Premium Outlet Mall, Florida Mall, Sea World and Lake Buena Vista are all within 10 mins drive, Disney, Universal and Mall at Millenia are about 15 mins so, again in my opinion you couldn’t want for a better position. Down sides were that I couldn’t figure out the air conditioning controls but, had I asked someone, I am sure they would have helped and no, you can’t walk easily from here to the Convention Centre but why would you want to anyway!!! Everybody drives here so it’s not really that much of a problem. To sum up we had a great time at Vista Cay, will definitely return and have advised all our friends to do the same! This is one of those gems that you need to take advantage of before everyone else does! See you there…
Are there limitaitons?
This is a nice condo-/townhouse resort, with a nice pool and a serviceable clubhouse. It is very clean and very safe and is close to International Drive activities. The price is amazingly low and very affordable for a reasonable quality facilitiy . The people are nice to help you, but they are not all that well trained re the full array of local resources. Helpful though. kITCHEN ok. OK,pretty good and pleasant-- the bad part 1. This is not upscale, just fair--houses and units are very close (but usually quiet) 2. Furnishings are kind mass produced pseudo style. No cleaning products, toilet paper, or even garbage bags supplied. 3. YOU CANNOT WALK TO ANY CONVENTION CENTER FROM HERE. There are highways, no sidewalks, obstructive fensing and construciotn. No close by food store--DO NOT GO TO PUBLIX OR WALMART as they recomment. These are Yuk. Try Goodings (open 24 hours) about 2 miles North on Universal in a shopping Ctr on your left. Not much else around--you have to drive everywhere. No amenities. really on site nearby or accessible without a car--none at all. Great deal for the money. Not upscale--more middle of the road.
wish we were there!
we booked Vista Cay with Travel city direct. we booked a 2 bedroom condo, we were given a 3 bedroom condo. on the down side the views were nothing special, but the condo was great, a home away from home. a large fridge, tv in each room, balcony and plenty of space. there is building work going on in the area, next door they are building another complex, but the work didnt disturb us. nice big mugs in the kitchen for a great cup of tea, plenty of hanging space (20 coat hangers) in all i would go back again and i would recommend vista cay to family and friends. i have video of the villa but not able to show it yet, watch this space.
Great place to unwind
We recently stayed at Vista Cay after leaving our first hotel which was horrible. Vista Cay offered an alternative to the standard hotel room experience. We had a 3 bed/3.5 bath townhome. The unit appeared very new. The furnishings were wonderful as were the beds. The living/kitchen area was huge with full size appliances which we used to cook breakfast. The clubhouse offers a wonderful pool, lighted basketball court, exercise facilities, gameroom and even a home theater to watch rented movies. The location is close to the Convention Center and only minutes from most of Orlando's theme parks. It has easy access to the freeway and airport. We found many great restaurants along International Drive which is the next street over. Overall Vista Cay offers a quiet home-like experience which was welcomed after our long days at the theme parks.
Fabulous Deal For Families
After reading another review on this site, I ended up booking a two bedroom unit (complete with living room and full kitchen) on VRBO which then connected me with /[--]. The booking process was simple and swift. We were very impressed with the location and the property, as it put us about 8 minutes to Universal and 10-15 to Disney. Mind you, it was low season. This property is HUGE! If a pool is important to you, request a unit near the club house. This was such an amazing value at $110 a night. The unit was under a year old and very clean and well appointed. We had a problem with the refrigerator which was not working, but a call to the property manager brought a repair person to our door step the very next day. What a great find and an even greater value.
unfinished
If you can put up with 20 mexican builders waking you up at 6.30am every day apart from Sunday for 2 weeks this is the ideal place for you. We were situated in a building site with additional building going on all around us as well to every point on the compass! This is described as a 5 star resort and I am sure the indications are that it will be, when it is finished. However, as we were sited on phase 2 which only has one building complete it, could be a while yet. There is also a new Publix supermarket being built a roadwidth away from the entrance road to these apartment blocks. There is no bar or eating facility at the 'finished' phase 1, although we were told by other guests that it was to be built next year! The apartments are top-rate and deserve their rating but you can find something far more convenient and essentially FINISHED with all the amenities of a holiday resort, elsewhere for the money.
Management response from resort031 06 Nov 2007

The concerns and comfort of our guests is the #1 priority for Vista Cay by Millenium; We have researched these concerns, and we have concluded, that this review does not correspond to our resort, which has been finished totally, and no construction was taking place at the date of the review. We believe this review is directly related to the resort next door, called Isles of Cay, which is still under construction, but it is totally independent from Vista Cay Resort. We understand that other management companies do operate units at that developement but Vista Cay by Millenium does not. We feel that 99% of the reviews highlighted by Trip Advisor, are true reflection of Vista Cay by Millenium and its commitment to provide high quality standards and excellent guest service.

Wonderful!
It was very spacious and very quiet! The granite countertops and stainless steel appliances were a wonderful upgrade. Our son had his own spacious room and bathroom. The master suite and master bath were exceptional. We love Vista Cay!!!
Great Complex
Stayed at the Vista Cay resort for 2 weeks,Excellent we stayed in a 3 storey town house. It was we had 3 beds , 3.5 bathrooms which was a bonus. Everything was brand new (the only downfull we were on pins the whole holiday in case we damage anything. The complex was quite, but had a great swimmimg pool ,gym ,pool room , the only downfall was there was nowhere to eat or have a drink you had to drive off the complex .We travelled with a 20,18, and 16yr old and they enjoyed the facilities.I would recomend Vista Cay to anyone(maybe not small children as we had cream carpets and new leather furniture etc).We are hoping to go back there next year. You need a car as it is about 10 mins plus from shops etc. There was still some building work being done close by ,but it did'nt bother us.They are building a shopping centre which we be great next year. A warning beware of the photo shop on international drive , as it got my husband to buy a different camera than he wanted .Explaining , that was better than the one he wanted, with the promise it could be change the next day if i did'nt like it. Upon returning the next day ,after speaking to the owner and being told to return at 2oclock and they would exchange it we found the camera we wanted had dissapeared of the shelves, supposidly sold. and we were told to return a few days later then told to come back after the weekend. Finally we managed to get them to change it for a different one ,but not the original one we wanted and still lost a little bit of money. Never let them remove packaging and throw it as they will not exchange without original packaging. Always check for a notice by the till before buying as the operate a exchange and not a refund policy, you can get caught out. Sorry to go on,but they sould'nt be able to get away with this. On a plus side Vista Cay is a great place to stay .
Excellent Location (cant be beaten)
We booked this accommodation thru travel2florida.co.uk. Superb condo. Large three bed monterey apartment on 4th floor. Big kitchen/lounge area. Separate d/room. Huge master bathroom. 2nd bathroom. Perfect for family of 5/6. The location was superb, 5/10 mins to everything!. Only downside to this complex was, although super clubhouse with gym, cinema, reception area, there was nowhere serving food, or worst still - coffee etc. If you wanted something to eat you had to leave the pool and either go out, or go back to your apartment. Some building works still going on. This complex is massive (big publix being built pratically on-site) but no shops etc. Will be great in a couple of years. Stayed at Sheraton Vistana Villages, which we prefer for amenities.
superb
stayed here for 2 weeks, location is excellant, we booked a 2 bedroom condo and ended up with a 3, the kitchen has everything u need, bedrooms are huge, living area is perfect, but i must warn all smokers dont smoke in the condos you will be charged if they smell smoke after you have left as my neighbour found out, again you must leave the place as you found it, so be prepaired to do a bit of housework only down side i had was the that the clubhouse closed at 10pm as you would find most hotels keep their pool open till the early hours very quite place to stay, so getting a good kip wont be a problem really close to top end of international drive and seaworld i would recomend vista cay to families, best to hire a car
