Dissapointed
from ralcorsa
Having been to Goa twice before, i would say that the Palmarinha was by far the worst hotel i have stayed. The website through which i booked said that the Hotel was in Calangute, my partner and i walked from the Hotel to Calangute beach and it took over 1 hour. Other hotels in Calangute would take you 10 mins. The first room we were offered was Dark, Smelly and Dirty, the toilet when flushed was disgusting. The restaurant, was average, i ate there only 3 times and each time it was dissapointing. All food and drink had tax...

check in on the 20thFeb for 7 nights, had a great stay in Palmarinha Resort and a great time in Goa. Room - Average in size with tv, ceiling fan, air conditioning, phone, table with 2 chairs, a small couch, balcony, fridge with drinking water inside and a comfortable double bed. new towels everyday. Food - Breakfast was poor, not a lot to choose from and need to pay extra for bacon, sausage and pancake. didn't have dinner in the hotel so can't comment but did have room service one night. very cheap for a hotel and only took 20mins...

"you get what you pay for"
from RoTi-London
We booked through Thompson, which when all considered was good value for money although we would never settle for 3 star accommodation again. We stayed at the Palmarinha, which in it self is an okay hotel. Even though the hotel was fully booked, the 2 pools very empty most days. The main problems with this hotel is that all the 'action' is a taxi ride away (200 rupees) i.e. Calangute and Candolim. Also, unless you stay in a room at the back of the hotel the rooms are seriously noisey from the traffic to Mapusa, that passes the hotel pretty...

Palmarinha resort

We have just come back from our first trip to Goa, we stayed at the Palmarinha and would stay there again without a doubt. We booked with first choice and the flight was comfortable with no problems on the way there and a bit of a delay on the way back of 1 hour or so. the seat back screens really helped to pass the time on the way out there but on the way home it was all the same movies etc We had a room overlooking the second pool and the fields which made a lovely view. the grounds are attractive and well kept. Overall we were...

Great rooms, great staff
from Dirk_Rabid
Stayed here over Christmas with my partner and 2 kids. The rooms were spacious and airy with fan AND air -conditioning and fridge and sat. t.v. Very clean, hardly any mosquitoes. Both pools were great. The buffet breakfast was adequate and the bar/restaurant clean with a lovely cool terrace. The drinks were a bit pricey but there are a few small bars just up the road that are cheaper. The staff were absolutely fabulous in the bar and restaurant and they really looked after the kids, but with all those fantastic restaurants, like...

We loved this hotel
from DorestJane
We visited Goa in January and stayed two weeks at the Palmarinha resort and had a wonderful time. The hotel is a little out of Calangute but this was great because after spending the evening in the bustle and noise of the town, it was nice to jump into a tuk tuk or taxi and take a short ride back to peace and quiet. The Palmarinha is in an ideal location as it is central to the different markets and beaches. The staff at the hotel couldn't have been nicer, everyone went out of their way to make us comfortable. The room was large with air...

loved goa
from cab2
Just returned on Tuesday from the palmarinha, the rooms are very large, clean with air con, fans, tea&coffee. At night we heard no noise what-so-ever from horns etc. Yes it is a taxi ride into calagute which cost around £1. We did not use the hotel bar very much so cannnot comment. But it has two lovly swimming pools. We will be returning to this hotel in November 07 and would highly recommend it.
shoddy service at new hotel
from LizfromDoncaster
The Palmarinha is a new hotel in Calangute on the road to Mapsa-too far to walk to the beach & we found the hotel taxi`s offering inconsistent & inflated fares. Whilst the rooms were very well furnished, well decorated & clean, the waiters & bar staff appeared to have had little training . I often couldn`t find staff to serve me! There are 2 lovely pools but I found the bar & restaurant areas lacking in atmosphere day or night. The food was nothing special. It gets a little breezy at night due to the location of the hotel as the fields are...

Jeckle and Hyde hotel

Beware!! This hotel has two types of room accomodation refurbished and non reburbished and it is the look of the draw as to which you get. and how overbooked they are. Ours was so bad that we moved out after the first night at great expense to ourselves as Thomsons would not relocate us (several others had also left in prevoius weeks we found out). Some of the rooms are right on the road and the cars honk their horns all night long. The breakfast is also very poor. The positives were the pool area and the food in the restaurant was OK....

palmarinha resort hotel calungute
from villagelass
This hotel is brillant, large rooms fan and air con tea/coffee facilitieson request . All rooms clean over looking fields and country side. Location outside the main resort but in my opinion this was a plus We had a room to the side of the hotel which over looked paddy fields ( not in use at the time) only problem here would be when they are in use would be the mossies. We used to have a morning cuppa on the balacony on a morning watch the sun rise and see the locals waking in single file all going to work, see the elephant (...
