" Best in Marmaris "

I had an amazing time staying in Club Aida, it was my third time in Marmaris, and although I have stayed in various other hotels & apartments, Club Aida definatly comes out on top. :)
The hotel staff are friendly towards everyone, and ensure you have a pleasant stay in the hotel. The first thing I noticed about the hotel was how clean it was, there was actually no mess lying around anywhere, including outside the entrance, and at the bar and pool area. It was very clean :)

The bar staff were really nice with the guests as well, and enjoyed speaking to everyone, when you were at the bar you were garunteed to have a laugh at something or someone! I think the bar staff along with the entertainment team, made everyones night at the hotel. The entertainment onsite was brilliant, and most of the time, you would rather stay in the hotel to see the evening entertainment than go out! There was also a lot to do during the day, and all the staff ensured you were looked after :) They were all so nice!
During our stay, we decided to have a turkish bath, which was great! The staff in the spa centre were very nice, as we had a baby with us, and they looked after her, while we were in the sauna and getting the foam massage etc, the whole experience was amazing.
The only negative thing about my holiday in Aida was having to get on the coach to go to the airport to come home, our group of friends and family, had made so many new friendships within the hotel, it was very emotional leaving them all! :( This has to be the ONLY negative thing I have to stay about staying in Club Aida.
I would definatly recommend that anyone going to Marmaris, stays in Club Aida! When you arrive, you only know who you know, yet leaving is emotional as you make so many friends!!

" A fantastic place for a great value holiday! "

We only booked a month before we travelled (with Thomsons) and we were encouraged by the reviews on here. This apartment complex is honestly the best, and best value, of any place we've stayed. The flights were on time and as comfortable as a 3 and a half hour charter flight can be - but watch out for prices at Dalaman airport - we were asked for 44 lira (£19) for two Powerades and a tube of Pringles! Fortunately, prices in Marmaris arent as stupid as that. We did think that the half-hour stop in a service station for the transfer bus was unnecessary though - its only a 90 minute journey and at 12.30 a.m. we would rather have pressed on and got to the apartments.
The apartments at Club Aida are terific - clean, modern, well-equipped, superbly maintained and better quality than anything we've had in Spain, Greece or other European destinations. The bar and restaurant staff work non-stop to help you enjoy yourselves, and the Entertainment team are terrific. Prices on site are slightly higher than in surrounding bars and cafes, but in 48 degree heat, who wants to walk off-site to get a beer?
The pool is large, spotless and a great temperature - although at 1.60 metres deep all the way, it may be too much for small children who cant swim. There is a small kiddies pool though and a good water slide (which isnt open all day - and should be). There are enough sunbeds to go round, and no-one needs to get up at 6.00 am to reserve them - although the better ones (with umbrellas) have mostly gone by 8.30/9.00.
The charge card system works well and saves you carrying loads of money around the pool. We didnt hear of anyone having problems with it. The shops on site are terific - I had almost daily massages (£8 each), plus a terrific hair-cut and streaks (at 60% of UK prices) and my man had a traditional Turkish cut-throat shave for £4.
The evening entertainment is variable quality - the Turkish night is very good but some of the other nights it was a bit hit and miss. But you dont really need it - a 10-15 minute stroll takes you to the beachfront, where you'll get great food, extra entertainment, late-night bars and clubs and a lovely view across the bay to the main part of Marmaris. Club Aida is a good 20-30 minute walk from the main town (or a 50p dolmus ride or a £4 taxi ride) but, as its a family complex, this wasnt a real problem.
Restaurants near the hotel offer fantastic vale meals - 3-4-5 courses, with first drink, all for £5-£6 per head. You can usually haggle for a free kids meal, or free drink or dessert as the Turkish waiters do all they can to get you into their establishment. Be polite, and wave them away with a smile if you dont fancy it - they know its not personal! Prices on the seafront restaurants are higher - maybe £8-£10 a head but still excellent value for the quantity and quality of whats on offer.
Marmaris market (Thursdays) is worth a trip - its indoors, but still very hot. Dolmus Number 3 from outside the Aida takes you directly there and back. Boat trips from Marmaris are great value too - we paid £25 in total for two adults and a teenager for a day out, including BBQ lunch and all our drinks for the day.
We loved it - our 13 year old son has asked if we can go back next year and we are certainly thinking of it.
10 out of 10.

Advice: Marmaris isnt exactly a quiet unspoilt village so dont go expecting the 'real' Turkey

Activities: Fave restaurant was Call Ayshea on the beachfront - fab food and a great view from the terrace.

" club aida "

This was our first visit to turkey and it was fantastic the hotel is very well located near to shops, beach and restaurants, very clean & well maintained, the waiters at the bar were also top people so friendly and always by to take your next order, the pool my children loved they are 6 and 10 yrs the entertainment staff were also great especially shaggy he is so funny i could watch him all day i would also reccomend having a turkish bath there it's very clean and the blokes are really friendly we went in as a family of 4 and whilst we were having a massage they cover the children with choclate from head to toe my 2 loved it, we then had a 30 min massage very relaxing just what u need when u arrive, also reggie in the hair dressers on site is a top bloke myself and my daughter both had a pedicure and it looked amazing after!! he took his time and they all work really long and hard hours and they still have laugh, they also painted my daughters nails for free and they were always spiking my son's hair with gel, the maid was also very friendly we ordered the air con the day after we arrived which was a god send as the temp hit 46 degrees, there are plenty of restaurants just down the road the one i could reccomend is piccadillys est for 10yrs and jack the waiter was always very friendly and even gave our kids free meals each night we went, overall i would give club aida 10/10 no faults what so ever the only thing i would say is we went for 11 days and they only run a 7day eve entertainment programme and then they repeat them again so if u go 4 longer than 7 days u will see the same shows which is a shame but still my kids loved it there and so did we and i would definately return

Advice: yes

Activities: piccadillys

" We had a lovely time, apartments were... "

We had a lovely time, apartments were spotless and the cleaners friendly and helpful. There was no problem getting a sunbed around the pool side (which we had problems with last year) however I find that the entertainments team choice in music was not always suitable for families and was too loud. The activities during the day wasn't much and very repetative, and I found the sarcasuim of the bold one very offensive at times.
The Thomson reps were very helpful and concerned when my son cut his foot, and kept in touch to help us if we needed anything. They were very useful with their knowledge when we went out on our own and told us the best places to shop. Memhet in the Turkish bath was funny and good too, and it was the best Turkish bath in all the years we've been coming to Turkey, a little bit more than you would pay elsewhere but well worth the money. Reggie the barber was friendly too and my husband enjoyed his shave, for only 10 lira too. The food was OK, although at times the chips were cold, we had four days of the hotels flexi dine which was good and ok for breakfast, and the waiters friendly, but we found some lovely places to go and eat in the evening and a fantanstic Turkish restaurant (I think it was called "Ocak" something!!) just down the road, but it was great. The head receptionist didn't like it (she was very rude, until she pestered us to buy the flexi dine!!) when on several occasions I explained about the pay TV, it was always going off and they couldnt fix it. It was a waste of money - don't bother with it. The shop in the hotel was ok for emergency items but they don't put prices on their items and you have a bit of shock when you get to the checkout. However, overall we had a lovely time and would certainly go back - knowing the lessons we've learn't.

" First time in Turkey and will... "

First time in Turkey and will definitely be back. I booked this family holiday last minute and was quite hesitant as our previous 12 family holidays had been in the Balearics. The apartment was really nice; Plenty storage and everything you would need for a self catering holiday. The room was cleaned and fresh towels supplied every day and the bedding changed twice in the week. The place as a whole was spotless; I never saw any litter or even any insects either in the complex or Marmaris as a whole. There was never a problem getting a sunbed even after 11am. Every member of staff spoke English, even the cleaners. They are the friendliest I have ever known. The waiters, bar staff and animation team are always pleasant and try to joke with you all the time. It is obvious they all work well together and are all trying hard to keep the guests entertained. The evening entertainment is not quite up to Spanish standards but I think this is because the animation team don't yet know how to work the audience. The snacks were very nice and only slightly more expensive than in the town. The food at the turkish night was very good but we never ate there any other evening preferring to try the many restaurants around. We tried many traditional turkish dishes and found all the food to be fabulous. The market/bazaar in Marmaris on thursday was really good with a mix of authentic products and the usual cheap goods. Plenty shopping available with the opportunity to haggle till your hearts content. We never experienced any hassle and in fact found most people enjoyed a bit of banter. I would definitely recommend the apartments and my 15 year old son was all for going back next year. I prefer to try different places but will be returning to Turkey for the forseable future

" Myself, my husband and 2 kids aged 11... "

Myself, my husband and 2 kids aged 11 and 6 arrived back 3 days ago from an amazing holiday in Marmaris . There is so much to say that I don’t know where to start! I’ll go from the beginning: We travelled with Thompson from Doncaster Airport to stay at Club Aida. The flight was on time and the plane was clean and comfortable. It was a bit of a pain having to queue for ages at Dalaman Airport to pay the £10.00 each visa fee. The Rep that met us at the Airport was nice and the coach lovely and cool (you could buy cheap cold drinks on the coach which was great). The coach journey is a long one to Marmaris (about 1 hour 45 mins) but the scenery is beautiful. We arrived at Club Aida and were met by friendly and efficient staff. It is a modern and clean complex, the bar food is lovely and staff polite and helpful. The rooms are bright and very clean, the maid was an absolute hero, her name was Latife and she went that extra mile every time she cleaned our room. The pool area was very clean with plenty of sun beds. Club Aida will not let the towel tyrants reserve sun beds before 8 AM which made things much fairer. We did not stay at Club Aida in the evenings to watch the entertainment but I heard people talking about how good it was (warning – they have 2 Snake Shows a week so one to avoid if you are not a fan of all things slithery). We only spent 1 full day around the pool and found that there were lots of things happening. Every day we chose to go on the beach in front of the Maris Beach Hotels’ Venus Beach Restaurant. The sun beds are free; you are expected to buy a drink from the bar (it is the same across the beaches in Marmaris). The guys who work at the Venus beach are FABULOUS! They made us feel so welcome. They could not do enough to ensure that we had enough sun beds and shade. They offer a full waiter service on the beach. These lads do not make mistakes or forget you. They make a real effort to know your names, when you return there you are treat like old friends. Every member of staff was lovely. I am sad that I struggled with some of their names due to the language barrier but can remember Memet (my little boy is still talking about him). We ate there every lunch time and found it reasonably priced. As for the food.........well, we ate there every lunch time! Venus Beach has a makeover for the evening and becomes a lovely candle lit bistro serving a lovely selection of food. The waiters there are on fire in the evening – charming everyone and even doing a bit of dancing. What more can I say – Venus Beach and its lovely guys made our holiday! Marmaris itself (we were just outside the old town bit) rocks on an evening. Don’t get me wrong – we are NOT talking stag do’s and brits abroad downing 2 4 1’s. Every bar or restaurant has something happening, it could be a belly dancer, waiters doing the Macarana or even a break dancing robot. Whichever bar or eatery you go into you will receive a warm welcome and friendly service. We found the best music bar was Barran Karaoke and Disco. There is this great guy called Joseph (probably the best dancer in Marmaris) on front of house and will have you seated, laughing and a drink in your hand within minutes. It is a real family venue, as with everywhere, the kids are made a real fuss of. I felt very safe in this resort even though it is bustling. It is clean throughout the resort and beach. The weather was hot hot hot and the sea calm and great for swimming. I would recommend Marmaris 100% I would return to the Club Aida but this time I would remember to take antiseptic and a pack of plasters – my daughter cut her foot by the pool so I asked the Receptionist if she had a plaster and antiseptic cream. She suggested that I take my daughter to the onsite nurse. I did and she made a lovely job of wiping the cut and putting a plaster on – she then told me it cost me 10 Lira- £5.00!! Also, as we checked out, the Receptionist asked if there had been any breakages in the apartment. I told her we had dropped a dish onto a glass in the sink (they had checked anyway). She politely told me that I would have to pay for the damage which I was happy to do until she asked for 20 Lira (£10). I explained that in England you can purchase a glass and dish for about £3 and asked to see the receipt to show how much Club Aida had paid for them. The Receptionist appeared flustered and then said “ok, you can pay £5”......one to watch Thompson! We would go back to Club Aida and we will definitely return to Marmaris........the best holiday ever!

" Stayed at these apartments from 16-23... "

Stayed at these apartments from 16-23 June 2008 and as you would expect from a brand new hotel, everything was lovely and new. The apartments have eveything you need for a self catering holiday. There was only myself and my husband in our apartment and there was ample room. However, I wouldn't have liked to try to get 2 adults x 2 children in them as they would be extremely cramped. The rooms were cleaned every day and supplied with fresh sheets and towels. The staff overall were fantastic and couldn't do enough for you but on a couple of occasions my husband was completly ignored by the bar staff and left in disgust. I had prevously heard rumours that if you tipped the bar staff well enough you got a better service bit I'm not sure whther this had gone on or whether the barman was just having an off day! The pool is enormous with plenty of sunbeds and their didn't appear to be any of the usual 'towels on sunbeds' scenario - whatever time of day, there were always sunbeds available. The only critiscm I would have is that you were not allowed to take your own bottles of water to the pool, even when they had been purchased from the hotel's own supermarket. I could understand if you were buying water outside of the hotel then fair enough but as the temperatures soared to 47 degrees you needed to be constantly drinking water but they insisted that you bought it from the poolside bar and I thought this was a little unfair - so watch out for the 'water police'!!

The restaurant offers flexi-dining where you can choose to pay for a package, ie. breakfast and dinner for either 4,7,10 or 14 days and this appeared to be very rerasonably priced. However, as we chose to eat out every night, we were constantly pestered to takeup a flexi dine package. On two occasions we were actually stopped by staff at reception when we were going out for the evening, asking us to take up the package. The hotel has a spa and hairdressers but we soon learned that these were privately owned and were constantly pestered by the staff selling their different treatments, whether it be a turkish bath, massage, hairdo, shave, manicure, pedicure etc. We did surcome to a turkish bath and massage and have to say that it was fantastic and very relaxing, although, if you do have one, make sure you have it on the first day or two before you get a suntan! Overall, we had a fantastic holiday here but I would say that the location was not great. We tended to get the dolmus either to the centre of Marmaris or to Icmeler - either way was only a 10 minute journey and there are some fantastic restaurants and bars there. Your other choices are to eat in the hotel, and the food did look very nice, but the entertainment was a bit dull (unless you had young children),although the entertainment team all worked very hard and did look after the kids both during the day and evening. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone. Overall, I gave it 10/10 with the exception of location which I would give 7/10. If you're going this summer, have a great time but be careful in the sun as the temperatures were heading towards 50 degrees. Enjoy and have a great summer.

" Were a bit worried about going to the... "

Were a bit worried about going to the hotel as it had just opened. But it was excellent, the room was clean and tidy maid came in every day and we had clean towels. The pool was lovely and big a bit deep for me but ok on an air bed there were plenty of sunbeds and if there was nt any left the staff around the pool would go and get you one. The food was very good but we did go out in the evening to eat at different resturants which was very reasonable. I would recommend going to the hairdressers in the hotel they do an excellent job and it is quite cheap. Book the boat trips down on the beach front they are much cheaper and well worth it. aLWAYS CATCH A BUS THEY ARE VERY CHEAP.

we are a family of 4 ,we found the hotel lovely the staff very nice and helpfull we requested a quiet room and we were allocated a room above the entertainment i went to ask to be changed and it was done imediately ,we had a 6 yr old and a 14 yr old with us the 14 yr old was bored silly abserlutely nothing in the hotel for her to do apart from go on the computers and that meant sitting indoors all day the 6 yr old was quite happy in the pool ,dont book trips with reps go out of the hotel and you will find plenty of people selling trips for half the price ,staff in hotel very nice and polite and helpfull ,not very good in restaurant if your a vegetarian (as i am) so we ate out every night and it was cheaper.dont get the flexi dining in hotel as it works out much cheaper going out and eating ,the turkish night is crap go to the proper one the booking agents will book it for you and all your drink and food is included we did it last yr and its fab compared to the one in the hotel but i will say if your going for a turkish bath do do it in the hotel as its done properly and its lush .

" Excellent hotel, staff are very... "

Excellent hotel, staff are very pleasant and helpful. Rooms are lovely, made service every day. Plenty of stuff to do without leaving the hotel. There is a kids club twice a day for differnt age ranges, there is also activities in the pool and around the poolside every day. Every night the hotel holds activities for the guests, the turkish night is great 28YTL each and kids under 6 are free, there is belly dancers for the men and a fire breathing gladiator for the women. The restaurant has a good choice of food and also has a kids menu. The hotel has a small supermarket inside, there is also a hairdressers, photographer and jewellers on the ground floor. This was an excellent break the hotel is perfect for all the family, its a 5min bus journey into the main resort so the hotel is fairly quiet. I found the only downside to the hotel was that the childrens pool is quiet small and the main pool is 1.10m deep so not really child friendly. There is 2 slides in the little pool which are great, these are manned by a lifeguard at all times when the slides are open. We also did a couple of boats trips whilst in marmaris, we booked them through a local tour company a 10 minute work from the hotel which cost us £12 each and children were free, the thomson reps were selling the trips for £23 each so its worth booking out of the hotel. This was a brill holiday for all and im already planning on going back there in october.
