" Best in Marmaris "
Submitted By: KirstiiThe hotel staff are friendly towards everyone, and ensure you have a pleasant stay in the hotel. The first thing I noticed about the hotel was how clean it was, there was actually no mess lying around anywhere, including outside the entrance, and at the bar and pool area. It was very clean :)
The bar staff were really nice with the guests as well, and enjoyed speaking to everyone, when you were at the bar you were garunteed to have a laugh at something or someone! I think the bar staff along with the entertainment team, made everyones night at the hotel. The entertainment onsite was brilliant, and most of the time, you would rather stay in the hotel to see the evening entertainment than go out! There was also a lot to do during the day, and all the staff ensured you were looked after :) They were all so nice!
During our stay, we decided to have a turkish bath, which was great! The staff in the spa centre were very nice, as we had a baby with us, and they looked after her, while we were in the sauna and getting the foam massage etc, the whole experience was amazing.
The only negative thing about my holiday in Aida was having to get on the coach to go to the airport to come home, our group of friends and family, had made so many new friendships within the hotel, it was very emotional leaving them all! :( This has to be the ONLY negative thing I have to stay about staying in Club Aida.
I would definatly recommend that anyone going to Marmaris, stays in Club Aida! When you arrive, you only know who you know, yet leaving is emotional as you make so many friends!!
" A fantastic place for a great value holiday! "
Submitted By: GaryandJoThe apartments at Club Aida are terific - clean, modern, well-equipped, superbly maintained and better quality than anything we've had in Spain, Greece or other European destinations. The bar and restaurant staff work non-stop to help you enjoy yourselves, and the Entertainment team are terrific. Prices on site are slightly higher than in surrounding bars and cafes, but in 48 degree heat, who wants to walk off-site to get a beer?
The pool is large, spotless and a great temperature - although at 1.60 metres deep all the way, it may be too much for small children who cant swim. There is a small kiddies pool though and a good water slide (which isnt open all day - and should be). There are enough sunbeds to go round, and no-one needs to get up at 6.00 am to reserve them - although the better ones (with umbrellas) have mostly gone by 8.30/9.00.
The charge card system works well and saves you carrying loads of money around the pool. We didnt hear of anyone having problems with it. The shops on site are terific - I had almost daily massages (£8 each), plus a terrific hair-cut and streaks (at 60% of UK prices) and my man had a traditional Turkish cut-throat shave for £4.
The evening entertainment is variable quality - the Turkish night is very good but some of the other nights it was a bit hit and miss. But you dont really need it - a 10-15 minute stroll takes you to the beachfront, where you'll get great food, extra entertainment, late-night bars and clubs and a lovely view across the bay to the main part of Marmaris. Club Aida is a good 20-30 minute walk from the main town (or a 50p dolmus ride or a £4 taxi ride) but, as its a family complex, this wasnt a real problem.
Restaurants near the hotel offer fantastic vale meals - 3-4-5 courses, with first drink, all for £5-£6 per head. You can usually haggle for a free kids meal, or free drink or dessert as the Turkish waiters do all they can to get you into their establishment. Be polite, and wave them away with a smile if you dont fancy it - they know its not personal! Prices on the seafront restaurants are higher - maybe £8-£10 a head but still excellent value for the quantity and quality of whats on offer.
Marmaris market (Thursdays) is worth a trip - its indoors, but still very hot. Dolmus Number 3 from outside the Aida takes you directly there and back. Boat trips from Marmaris are great value too - we paid £25 in total for two adults and a teenager for a day out, including BBQ lunch and all our drinks for the day.
We loved it - our 13 year old son has asked if we can go back next year and we are certainly thinking of it.
10 out of 10.
Advice: Marmaris isnt exactly a quiet unspoilt village so dont go expecting the 'real' Turkey
Activities: Fave restaurant was Call Ayshea on the beachfront - fab food and a great view from the terrace.

Submitted By: hadafabtimeThe Thomson reps were very helpful and concerned when my son cut his foot, and kept in touch to help us if we needed anything. They were very useful with their knowledge when we went out on our own and told us the best places to shop. Memhet in the Turkish bath was funny and good too, and it was the best Turkish bath in all the years we've been coming to Turkey, a little bit more than you would pay elsewhere but well worth the money. Reggie the barber was friendly too and my husband enjoyed his shave, for only 10 lira too. The food was OK, although at times the chips were cold, we had four days of the hotels flexi dine which was good and ok for breakfast, and the waiters friendly, but we found some lovely places to go and eat in the evening and a fantanstic Turkish restaurant (I think it was called "Ocak" something!!) just down the road, but it was great. The head receptionist didn't like it (she was very rude, until she pestered us to buy the flexi dine!!) when on several occasions I explained about the pay TV, it was always going off and they couldnt fix it. It was a waste of money - don't bother with it. The shop in the hotel was ok for emergency items but they don't put prices on their items and you have a bit of shock when you get to the checkout. However, overall we had a lovely time and would certainly go back - knowing the lessons we've learn't.

Submitted By: Mrs B JonesThe restaurant offers flexi-dining where you can choose to pay for a package, ie. breakfast and dinner for either 4,7,10 or 14 days and this appeared to be very rerasonably priced. However, as we chose to eat out every night, we were constantly pestered to takeup a flexi dine package. On two occasions we were actually stopped by staff at reception when we were going out for the evening, asking us to take up the package. The hotel has a spa and hairdressers but we soon learned that these were privately owned and were constantly pestered by the staff selling their different treatments, whether it be a turkish bath, massage, hairdo, shave, manicure, pedicure etc. We did surcome to a turkish bath and massage and have to say that it was fantastic and very relaxing, although, if you do have one, make sure you have it on the first day or two before you get a suntan! Overall, we had a fantastic holiday here but I would say that the location was not great. We tended to get the dolmus either to the centre of Marmaris or to Icmeler - either way was only a 10 minute journey and there are some fantastic restaurants and bars there. Your other choices are to eat in the hotel, and the food did look very nice, but the entertainment was a bit dull (unless you had young children),although the entertainment team all worked very hard and did look after the kids both during the day and evening. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone. Overall, I gave it 10/10 with the exception of location which I would give 7/10. If you're going this summer, have a great time but be careful in the sun as the temperatures were heading towards 50 degrees. Enjoy and have a great summer.
