" well worth staying here "

Returned last week from here june 22nd 09 the appartments are kept spotless and are all new
the staff are all very helpful and can't do enough for you to make your stay go really easy, the towels are changed every other day and bedding once a week maid service every day except thursday and sunday. The two pools are kept clean and are often empty as the beach is only 5 min walk away. The beach is lovely and the sea is warm and clear very calm for swimming and for the little ones to go in [use a good sun cream ]as it is very hot at this time of year, the spa shop is up and runing and is very well equiped with every thing that you will need.purto rico is just a 15 - 20 min walk around the cliff or a short taxi ride which costs 3 euro with everything here for you to do. there is dolphin trips and a ferry to purto morgan which is 10 euro per adult and kids free well worth going on.there is also the big shopping center here aswell just watch out for the touts [they dont seem to be about on saturday and sunday] we are booking again for this hotel as you have all you need in the laid back resort of amadores or the more lively resort of purto rico 15 min away you can book with confidence here. Would advise you hire a fan which is 6 euro per week thats all you will need as the apartments come with fridge microwave kettle toaster tv and hob with two rings all we can say is enjoy yourselfs as we did.

Advice: loved playa amadores beach and the sea

Activities: nice and cheap at harbour lights just in purto rico its a must to go and see the dolphins

Good for: Beach

" Just returned from a week in Terraza... "

Just returned from a week in Terraza Apartments in Amadores resort. Beautiful beach, crowded during the day but still plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available. Sea was clear and warm. Plenty of choice of bars, shops and restuarants behind beach, although they were not all open in the evening but the meals were good value and service was great.

Lovely clifftop walk into Puerto Rico with fantastic views-took about 20 minutes. Taxi back cost only 3 euros. The port there was pretty but we thought the centre was "tacky" and there were loads of touts. Glad to go back to Amadores.
Porto Mogan well worth a visit , thought it was very pretty with some good restaurants: we went by bus very cheaply, and returned by ferry.

The apartments are in 2 blocks. Smaller front block on 3 floors has a Spar shop on the ground floor and faces the road, although it's not a busy road. We stayed on the 4th floor of the larger block - much better views & further from the road. We couldn't believe how quiet it was there, only about half the apartments were taken so my husband and I often had the pool to ourselves! Lots of loungers and umbrellas, and nobody putting towells down early in the morning.

The staff were friendly and helpful, although reception only open a few hours a day.
The Spar shop has everything you need - lovely fresh baked rolls for breakfast in the morning - that was about the extent of my cooking!

The apartment was large, very clean, and was well equiped. The terrace had table, 4 chairs and 2 sunloungers- a lovely sun-trap. Unfortunately it had no air conditioning and as the temperatures were in the 30's every day it would have been good to have. We bought a cheap fan and used it every night.

On the downside-:
There was a bit of noise from the entertainment at the Mirador Apartments close by - but it always stopped by midnight. There never seemed anybody actually there enjoying the entertainment but it still went on every night. Also some noise from diggers clearing ground opposite the Terraza Apartments on weekdays, but didn't intrude too much.

Overall, a lovely quiet laid back holiday - we would certainly return to the resort, and would stay at the Terraza Apartments if we could have a room in a similar position.
