why i booked it was to stay away from the noise and still that had to be a hotel, with an OK breakfast, internet etc., - other hotels (4-stars included) had mixed reviews and i chose this hotel. the hotel underwent renovation in 2008 rumored to cost Eur35mio. truly, everything's quite new. because of a visit in low season and of certain friendliness of their sales team i could ensure a room with sea view. certainly sea view room is actually the only possible in montenegro, first of all because the view itself is fabulous, and... more

We stayed at the Queen of Montenegro hotel for a week late August and thought it was a lovely hotel. The buffet breakfast was nice even though very packed every morning. Rooms were nice and had air con etc. Towels changed every day if you wanted. However the resort of Becici itself is a bit run down. The Queen has its own area of the beach with sunbeds that you must pay for but if you wander over to the public part of the beach its dirty and not very inviting. The hotel itself is ok, if not a bit clinical in feel. There was no atmosphere and the lounge areas feel rather like an airport terminal or a shopping mall. The fact that the reception insisted that we handed over our passports for the duration fo the stay means that I will never stay there, or possibly even visit montenegro again. I found such a policy completely unacceptable and I do not like being anywhere without a passport. My husband and I travelled to this hotel for the 1st week of our 2 centre holiday (2wks). We arrived around midnight, and although it seemed quiet, the foyer was large and clean, reception staff OK. We had only 4 people on the transfer bus from the airport (which took about an hour + half). I have hust come back from my Honeymoon and I was delighted with the hotel - We got upgraded from a suite to an appartment and the Hotel deserves its four star rating. We decided to have just breakfast board and am glad we did as the food did not live up to the standard of the service in both buffet and ala carte. The Reception was probably the best department followed by House Keeping. The Restuarants in Bececi are ok - But the ones in Budva are better and probably a little cheaper. Well, I want to say that we had a seminar in this hotel and I was one of the participants. I expected not very high level of services in Montenegro, but actually it was very good, and I should say we were all kind of satisfied with the services in Queen hotel. The hotel proposed us one of their seminar rooms, all our requests were taken into consideration... Well I did not actually stay at the hotel but my attempt to book a room was a nightmare. I emailed the hotel and asked for rates for 2007 - before they had posted them on their website. I was told 150 euros for a suite in early June. I was happy and I booked flights and car hire. Went back to hotel and they said 'sorry that was just for the first night ...you want to stay in high season so it is XXX euros more' We tried negotiating and got offered a junior suite - no sea view for the 150Euros. Booked 2 weeks from Ireland with Sunway at a different hotel but was told that the advertised facilities wouldn't all be available so I changed to the Queen of Montenegro and it was well worth the extra. The only better hotel in the resort seems to be the new 5* Splendid still under construction. The hotel is at the end of the bay. I had a 4th Floor seaview room but in reality it was only 2 floors up as the hotel is on a slope. This is a nice hotel and is definitely 4 star - before we went we didn't know if 4 star in Montenegro could be compared to 4 star at home (ie Ireland) but it can. In general we found the staff really nice and efficient (especially the waiting and bar staff). The room was a little on the small side but nice all the same - very clean and new. The breakfasts are only ok - quite German or Russian in style. The buffet at night will not appeal to anyone who likes good food however there is a top class restaurant upstairs in the hotel.... more

Booked half board with Thomson as direct fights were too pricey last minute. Transfer from Dubrovnik lengthy due to border control. transfer took 3 hrs. Hotel brand new, spacious, good facilities including a great spa - recommend the treatments - especially masage!
