Whites Hotel
, NewcastleWhites Hotel Reviews
Stayed for 1night in the summer. It was for convenience of location to for a wedding reception nothing more. It is a 2star and it is clear to see why.
The hotel is not bad but not brilliant. It could do with some modernisation to be honest.
Thankfully we weren't in the room long enough to moan that much. It’s ok if you're there for a stag do or one night but anything more I'd look elsewhere.
The bed was comfortable but the sheets itchy and tough. All the usual amenities in the room but the ironing board had seen better days and the iron too. The local parking is terrible as there isn't much room in the surrounding area and not exactly secure parking. The room was quite noisy too at night from the street and corridors.
The bathroom was horrible and the shower was in desperate need of a decent clean and regrouting. The carpet and bathroom floor could certainly do with a change.
The staff were friendly enough but if I had more time to book somewhere I wouldn't have chosen this one. They say it’s a 10minute walk to the town centre from Jesmond but that is pushing it - 20mins more like.
Personally, I wouldn't stay there again.

One night in this hotel was absolutely the 'night from hell'. There was no heating, radiator was broken, a electric heater had been supplied but the only way of plugging it in was to put it on the table by the TV, we thought this was unsafe. It wa a very cold and windy night and the curtains blew in the wind from the most appalling metal windows. There was not cover on the ceiling light, long life bulbs had been put in so the cover did not fit, wires exposed. The room was a twin bedded room, on my bed there was just a sheet and no matress cover, the matress was appalling dirty!!! In the bath room there was no slip mat or shower mat and you had to climb into the bath to have a shower!Yhe shower head fell off. The breakfast was appalling, the fruit in the bowl looked dry and as if it had been there for weeks. The breakfast room was just a bar in a night club!!
The noise was dreadful, although we were on the top floor we were woken 3 times in night with drunken men knocking on our door and shouting and racing up and down the corridor!
The only good thing about this hotel was the free parking and the Receptionist was pleasant and understood the problems we had encountered.
I have no idea how this place can be called a hotel! The exterior appears quite nice and the reception area but the rest of the hotel was very shabby.
