I booked this well in advance for a rate of £19 so I shouldn't grumble too much. The location was fair just off Sauciehall Street which is one of the main shopping streets.
The building itself on the outside was very tired but on the inside has been renovated by Travelodge. The room itself was very damp and mildew was found throughout the bathroom.
The shower was very powerful which was a positive but the bed was pretty hard. By Travelodge standards the double rooms were fairly small. Meals were no longer being served in an evening but breakfast can be purchased for £7.50.
The staff were very helpful and are available 24hrs.
The good location was the main positive factor but the streets around it at night did make you feel uncomfortable. The Cowcaddens subway station is really close and this gives you good access to the rest of the city. The hotel was 15 minutes walk from the Queen Street Station.
Overall, A good buy if you get a deal but otherwise I would stay somewhere with better beds and a higher standard of room.
