My boyfriend and I had a great time here in The Marina Hotel for 14 days bed and breakfast in September 2006
Here are some of the things which we found about the hotel
1. Elevated position... A nice down hill, 10 minute walk from the hotel to the fantastic beach and a 15 minute walk to Ayia Napa town... Good exercise if you want it! We didn’t make use of the frequent buses or taxis (£5) as we liked the exercise.
2. Quiet location away from the town’s noise although there is the noise from the small amount of traffic on the road outside. The pool was clean and large enough, lots of beds - but when the hotel was busy you had to be up early to save your sunlounger.
3. The food, when we eat at the hotel was ok... Breakfast was the same each morning... hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, tinned sausage, fried spam, baked beans, and usual continental breakfast things (yogurt, cheese, ham, fresh cut orange or melon, cereals, toast etc) We had lunch in the pool bar which was always very good.
3. The rooms were all clean and spacious but reminded me of the 1970s. The air conditioning was very welcome at the end of the day.
4. The facilities we used were the bar, the pool table and the tennis court* (*at extra cost) which were all ok and provided some fun.
5. The hotel is easy walking distance to the Grecian Bay beach, which is well worth a visit (2 beach beds and an umbrella cost us £3.75 for the day if you want to use them)
6. There were an unlimited amount of restaurants nearby and the places where we had most fun and kept going back to were in the town and are called...
Sage Restaurant...Fantastic food and service
Liquid Bar...
Golden Arrow Pub... Great food, drinks, service and location - overlooking the main street
If I could choose or change anything it would be a nearer hotel to the beach and town lower down the hill... But then maybe the staff wouldn't be as nice there and the cleanliness of the hotel, facilities and food not as good?
All in all we enjoyed and when we were there, how many hotels can boast of there being two couples in the same week who have been going there for the last 12 yrs!!! Watch out for the fun bar man "Basil Fawlty" - Andreous

Me and my husband got married at The Monastery in June, and had our reception meal at Clarabels - which was absolutely fantastic, food at home just doesn't come close!
I would recommend a visit to this restaurant (on the main road in Ayia Napa), don't leave it till the last night because you will kick yourself and wished you'd dined out there a few times!
The hotel was great for a large booking (all the family came to watch us say "I do") because it was reasonably priced and suited everyone!
On arrival the reception staff were very welcoming and polite. The waiters were very friendly and funny!
The food was lovely, plenty to choose from and the rooms were nice and clean.
Because we ate out of the hotel on a number of evenings, you can arrange at the pool bar to have lunch instead of dinner (at no extra cost) that day instead - which was great, especially if you're chilling out by the pool.
The gardens are lovely around the hotel grounds, the pool was a good size and very clean, but it was quite shaded around the pool, which is great for kids but not so great for all you sun worshippers out there - get out there early with your towel!!
The only thing I would say is the walk 'down' into Ayia Napa is ok, it takes around 15-20 minutes, it's coming back up the bank which can be a struggle, especially mid afternoon when the sun is beating down on you or late at night when you've had a few cocktails! You can easily get a taxi back though, which usually costs around 4 CYP.
All in all we had a great time at the Marina Hotel and I would recommend this hotel and would definitely come back.

We stayed at the Marina Hotel in Ayia Napa towards the end of October 2007. The rooms were clean and adequate, with the cleaners coming in every day. Although the facilities were basic, they were more than adequate.
The Hotel itself, has ample facilities, and is very family orientated. It overlooks Ayia Napa bay and is about 400m from the beach. It is about 1Km from the town centre and convenient for local bus services. We found all the staff was warm and friendly, and if we had any requests, they were always willing to try to help us.
Breakfast was a continental buffet style, but there was always plenty of choice available. The evening meal was again buffet style, with a mixture of local and continental dishes available. We always found something available that suited us, but were aware that you could change to packed lunches if you couldn’t find anything to your taste.
During the last 3 days of our holiday, there were only 8 guests staying at the hotel, however, Athos, the owner, refused to have anyone moved so that he could shut the hotel down. In fact, during the last 9 hours, we were his only guests, and he allowed us to use whatever facilities we wanted.
All in all, the hotel is perfect for young and old alike, with quite a few guests that return every year. If I should ever find myself back in Ayia Napa, then I cannot see any reason to NOT stay at the Marina again.
