After travelling down from Fife, I arrived in Blackpool quite late with my daughter and girlfriend and immediately had to find a hotel (it was a very last minute thing!). The hotel we decided on was The Sunnyside Hotel after trawling through half of Blackpool!
The Sunnyside Hotel was just perfect for us as it was quite cheap (£25 a night pp) and it had a lift (ideal when you have a young child in a pram.) The breakfasts were nice and the staff and other guests were friendly and welcoming. The hotel also provided nightly entertainment, music, and dancing and had a nice bar area where you could go for a drink. It was a very family friendly place.
I am slightly biased as I had already visited and loved Blackpool before but it's everything you would expect it to be. There's lovely long beach ideal for strolls, the pleasure beach full of exciting rides for all the family and plenty of entertainment of all kinds every night. Although some of the rides can be slightly dear to go on, a day pass is quite reasonable at around £20.
We even had time to visit one of the many psychic palm readers on one of the piers. On the piers, you can find rides, amusements, entertainment, bars, and holiday gift shops.
The fish and chips are amazing, the holiday atmosphere is always friendly and exciting during the day, and at night there are plenty of places to party and live it up.
Another thing to mention is the shopping, there are all of your favourite chain stores, plenty of places to buy cheap booze, clothes, and all the things that you forgot to pack.
I would definitely recommend Blackpool to anyone, families, couples, hen/stag nights. There is an individual Blackpool experience to be had by all.
