We were attending a function just outside Oadby and all the other accommodation was fully booked, so we found the Chase Hotel was the next closest accommodation. It is actually part of a leisure club next to the racecourse, so it's ideal if you want to stagger back from the races and you're not fussed about the accommodation!
On the plus sides, the staff were friendly and the room was clean. Sadly, I don't think that the accommodation has been refurbished in about 30 years. It is very well worn and shabby around the edges. It's definitely not luxury accommodation. The bar does stay open quite late and there was a disco going on whilst we were there, but that did stop at midnight.
We went into Leicester the following day and were able to leave our car in their car park, instead of battling with parking in the centre, which was ideal. The best bit was that they charged us £36 for a triple room. Not bad for somewhere to crash for the night!
It's not glam, and it's definitely not the place to take someone for a romantic weekend. However, if it's just the bed that you need then it's ideal.
They charge £5 for breakfast, but we went to Sainsbury's up the road in Oadby for £2.99 each!!
