Apartments California

Having just had a 2 weeks holiday in the California apartments 6th Jan To 20 Jan 2012 I hope that this review will help other holiday makers.
Upon arrival 6th Jan at about 1400hrs My wife and me were told that there was no room.We would have to go to another apartment block the Bonanza was the first on offer.I told the reception this not what I had booked so please find a room for me.There was a list of 5 couples who would not get rooms,even those who had booked in June.We were told that a taxi would take us to the Bonaza which is over by the bus station well away from where we wanted to go.
I still refused to go there and was told this is the only option.
I rang up the travel company that I had booked with and explained what was happening.I was then offered an upgraid to some site behind Veronicas with an upgrade to free breakfast??????
If you have been to las Americas befor you can guess what the accommodation would be like there.
Again I refused.
The travel company that I booked through then got back to the people who supply rooms for the California and suddenly found a room for us,our friends who arrived about an hour after us where then given the same story about no rooms,I noticed that they were part of the 5 couples that I saw on the list.The excuse for them was problems with the water.
While we were there in the california we heard and saw other people who had the same story of no rooms.
It seems that this has been happening for a long time at the California,NO room off you go to the Bonanza or where ever.
It would be interesting to see just how many people have had the same treatment.
I have been to the California 4 times with no problems,I had even rang the reception a week befor coming to try for a room on the top floor,which might be available for me when I came.The rooms are kept clean,the maid service is good and the location is good this why we have been back.BUT NO MORE AFTER THIS TIME,the California has cooked its own goose as they say.
I hope that this will be of use to other people I only tell what is true

We returned from California Apts (8.7.10)after 1 week. They were ideally located, very clean and very helpful friendly staff. The only drawback was the inconsiderate drunken behaviour of young brits coming in during the early morning hours ie between 4.00 a.m. through until 7.30 am and continuing to rowdy behaviour without any thought or consideration of other occupants therefore spoiling other peoples holidays.

Me and my niece were stranded in Tenerife because of the volcano ash in Iceland and were staying at another hotel (that shall remain nameless for now!) when we were told we were not flying back to London just yet. We decided to find another hotel and came across Hotel California. We only stayed for three days but it was the best three days of our whole 12 days in Tenerife!
The staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel room we shared was very neat and tidy, and at a very stressful time for us, we were made to feel very welcome!
I for one will definitely go there again!

The apartment was good and had everything you would need in the self catering department very handy for the shops and plenty of places to eat round about. The only problem we had was with noise some people have no consideration for others. I would return to the hotel but I would insist on a top floor apartment.The bus sevice is also fantastic if you buy a Bono ticket which is the cheapest way to travel.

just got back from the california apartments yesterday. theyre in a great location in that its not too far from veronicas but far enough that the hastlers are in much fewer quantities! these apartments were absolutely perfect for 8 younguns ages ranging from 17-21.
they were clean and staff were friendly, couldnt have asked for a better place to stay.
also they felt really safe and secure, they even provide a pole to put in the space at the bottom of the patio doors so that people cant open them from the outside!
only complaints were minor ones - no microwave or cooker, and the shower wasnt very powerful.

As a Dutchman I was in this hotel with my son last June: only English people: extremely drunk all day. Extremely loud day AND night! These people beheved like pigs. If I were British I would be very ashamed. Don't go to this place. Certainly not with kids. You will absolutely regret each penny you spent!!!!!!!

Booked studio with Alpha Rooms, when arrived were allocated a 1 bedroom apartment.
Accommodation was of a good standard with everything needed for an excellent self catering holiday if you wanted to cook in apartment. Maid service was very good and daily, though 2 of these days were to empty the bins only.
Pool area is quite small though there were plenty of loungers, would imagine it to get very busy in high season.
The apartments have a bar which was very quiet, the snacks served there were good.
Location is very central with just a short walk to many bars, restaurants and shops.
Oh La La which is across the road is excellant for a coffee. HiperDino supermarket is next door to this and stocks everything needed, found it very reasonably priced and used by the locals.
Many good restuarants to choose from, we particularly enjoyed Michaelangelos and Giddy Goose (both close to the California) and The Bistro in LC is excellant.
We used the public service bus (488) to and from the airport to the apartments, bus stop is just outside and excellent value at 2.5 euros each. Buses run every half an hour.
Would not hesitate to stay again in these apartments for a Winter break.

very clean, maid top girl only problem there were only two cooking hobs no micro wave
or oven which made it expensive to eat problem now is it is so expensive to eat and drink
prices redicules some bars lemonade 2 euros bread 3 euros 2 drinks 10 euros people with
young children are going to find it hard

this was such a good hotel to stay in!!!
ohh deigo your the best we miss you!!
loads of scots and irish people but all really friendly. no one gets in till the crack of dawn and no one gets up till mid afternoon its great!! met some great people. bunyun , eggy muff etc.
this is for young people .
great!!

This place is fantastic... It has brilliant pool side... but dont think about going down there before 12 o'clock other than to put your towels down lol Because all you'll have is a nice shaded area. After 12 tho the sun comes over and its brilliant, the pool is lovely and refreshing (cool)
The staff are great and a right laugh... Diego is the man to go to if your after some banter.
The place is ram packed full of Irish... we we're the only English there until we found 4 Blackpool lads by the pool that had got the exact same deal as us lol We (the English) had already taken the hotel over by then tho 3 v's 300 haha
We wrote Banter on the balcony wall but the manager was less than impressed and told us to remove it :( We invented "Balcony Banter" we used the washing lines to attach messages to and swing them to the balcony of our choice haha
Seriously tho this place was great, close to the nightlife if your after that type of thing. I suggest Linekers best Bar/ Club on the Island.
All i have to say now tho is
