Poseidon - The Mykonos Town Hotel

Stayed at the Poseidon 31 times and will be there in Oct as well !!! First came here in 1991 have seen all the improvements throughout the years ! It is a truly family run hotel and they all strive to make your stay there a memorable one ! The breakfasts are really great and you can eat as much as you can !! The pool area is superb with a great pool bar and the snacks are really good . The Poseidon is a very beautiful hotel, located within walking distance of the center of town, just behind the windmills. The area around the pool is really pretty; be sure to take some pictures here! We loved Mykonos and our stay here was great. Friendly, helpful staff, great location, clean rooms, generous breakfast buffet and beauty all around you. What more could you want?

My husband and I stayed here for four nights while we were island hopping and had a great time. In response to two previously mentioned things....what they say about Alex is true...he doesn't help you at all, barely says hello. In response to the dogs barking all night, our room was two doors down from the dogs and we never heard them. The staff (apart from Alex) is wonderful, breakfast is more than you can imagine and the pool is a quiet oasis when you don't feel like going to the beach. Very acessible to everything. This is a darling, quaint hotel with a fabulous view of the Aegean Sea. Very easy walk from the "old town" but quiet and peaceful and in a very safe area. Rooms were great - very large by European standards. Staff was very nice and very responsive - easy to reach by e-mail both before and after the trip. Breakfast was wonderful, with something for everyone. The lack of parking wasn't a problem, as we didn't have or need a car. Poseidon Mykonos Town Hotel a.ka. Poseidon Hotel & Apartments We booked this hotel after reading so many reviews on this site about the great location and that the rooms are maneagable, but DO NOT BE FOOLED! This place is nasty, even for European standards! It is over priced, and the rooms are horrible...the showers even more horrible. We went to lie down in bed for a nap and found hairs all over the bed! The lady told us that this happens sometimes! The room is tiny, crowded and super old! We had a dreadful time at the Poseidon. Yes, the location is perfect for those wanting to be near the action and the clattering and banging of people coming and going all night is bearable, but if you do book here make sure you ask NOT to be located near the guard dogs who bark all night. Don't expect friendly service either - we found the staff particularly unhelpful. To top things off, the parking is inadequate and leads to night staff having to move cars around. It was a vey nice experence, the hotel is lovely very clean, best location, basic but all you need. I recomanded it to all my dear freinds.

The hotel couldn't be in a better location, just a few steps from the bars and clubs, and the main bus station to the beaches. It is also just enough away from all the party action that you will sleep well at night. Rooms aren't that terrific, but they are more then manageable. Most hotels I've stayed at in Mykonos do not have very well furnished rooms, so you aren't going to find much better, especially at that price.

We spent three nights at the Poseidon Hotel. It was called a four star on various web sites but we felt it was more of a three star. The rooms were small but we had a fantastic view of the Mykonos windmills. We were able to walk easily to Mykonos town and the hotel was located next to a place to rent Vespas. We rented one and drove to Paradise Beach and all over the island. The hotel had a decent breakfast with fantastic fresh yogurt. The location was fantastic!
