we stayed in paradise village for two weeks the first night on arrival was horendous .We were tired and hungry after our 10hr journey so not of to the best start Next day spoke to the rep who was most helpful when we asked to be moved. The pool and bar staff could not do enough for us and we became very fond of them the hotel is very run down but all the staff were lovely and we will miss them Qnce we settled down and decided to stay everything was fine.It is very third world but we were sad to leave our new friends who could not do enough for us .Life there is about the lovely people you met who attend to your every need and work all day for less than £10wk without a moan. love all but dont eat breakfast unless you like curry eggs is a speciality lol

i went here with a friend for a two week break and what a ball we had! the rooms were very clean, and there was always a member of staff day or night willing to do anything for you. the food was lovely and there is a very large and inviting spa on the resort with all sorts of cheap but delightful treatments avaialble.
when we met other people on day trips around goa they were all jealous of our resort. it is definetly one of the best in calangute.as we went around calangute we realised how lucky we were to have such a lovely place to stay, what is classed as a hotel over there is far from it over here. we were supposed to be staying at another hotel but found out maintenace works were being completed so we paid extra to swap, when we seen the other place i almost cried with revelation!!!
the staff were so friendly it seemed like everyone were long lost friends, they often keep in contact with emasil etc.the laid back attitude is lovely, and they are always willing to tell you the best places to visit and will even go with you if they have spare time.
the resort have a taxi rank right outside and they are less likely to rip you off and give you a free tour on the way,v,friendly.
overall had a really great holiday all thanks to the lovely staff and comfortable accomodation. would only ever go back here if to go back again!

After the first holiday 2006,we returned in 2007 and holiday was as amazing as the first holiday. The staff cannot do enough for you and especially the poolside area is safe and cleaned daily, the rooms are basic but all have aircon/fridges and are cleaned and towels changed daily.Only a few hundred yards away is the white sands of the beach and a sort walk to the main village area where you will see all forms of life and a most colourfull adventure.
Elephants walk alongside the hotel for their daily swim - Lush green avenues take you to the main road where the cheapest taxi drivers are around every corner(everything is negoitable in Goa).
We are arranging to go for the third year running and hope to meet the same helpfull staff.
One tip:- when booking with tour company(dont pay for the transfer)we paid £18.00 lump sum for 6 people (booked with Paradise Village)not the £20 each tour company wanted--a aircon'd coach was waiting and wisked us strait to Paradise Village..Great Holiday...........RECOMMENDED....

What a nightmare stay we had here.
Reception staff were very obnoxious and rude, as soon as we arrived, and it was very late, we asked if there was somewhere we could go to get some food, and was told "its late" and he walked off!!
When we were shown our room, we saw that it was very basic, and didn't have a problem with that, except for the lack of doors on the ardrobe (well one door specifically) and the bathroom was covered in mildew, the shower curtain was almost starting to rot.
Our air con was so loud that the whole place vibrated. When we went to ask for someone to look at it, 8 hours later and a complaint from our rep, saw the maintenance man arrive,he said it needed a part and would get it the folowing day. As we were away for two nights, and with assurances from the obnoxious man on reception that it would be fixed when we returned, we accepted this. On our return it had not been fixed, although the reception said it had, yet he refused to come and ceck it and refused to change our room, our rep again got involved and we were moved the fllowing day to a room with an equal amount of mildew, but 2 doors on the wardrobe!
Staff around the pool while friendly are very slow, we asked for a menu and got one 20 minutes later, then we ordered 2 cold drinks and food, 45 minutes later it tunred up, this was a continuous pattern.
Breakfast was a joke, a toaster so slow you could probably bake the bread yourself in the time it took to toast, or sometimes thay had a load of pre-toasted bread, which was rock hard and they re-heated in the toaster. The omelette chef was elusive to say the least although when he was there and there wasn't a queue they were quite nice.
The pool itself was almost green on the day we arrived, but he did seem to sort it out within a couple of days and it was much cleaner.
4 times our room wasn't cleaned, and we gave up complainign in the end as the reception staff just don't care and rarely do anything they are asked to. Our rep however was absolutely fantastic, but i have never had to see my rep so much on any holiday i have ever been on.
Also when we asked for an extra towel, it took 3 days and we practically had to beg for it.
Had we not been out of the hotel so much, this would have completely ruined our holiday
luckily we did escape from the hotel a lot.
I will go back to Calangute again, but would avoid this hotel like the plague, the only positive thing i have to say about it, is that it has direct access to the beach.
