I stayed at the Dionysis and Tonia for two weeks from 16th September to 1st October, 2010. The rooms were basic but very clean, having the bedlinen changed and rooms cleaned every three days. Cooking facilities were, again, basic but who's going to cook a three course... more

My wife and I went to these apartments in July, they were basic, but friendly. No air conditioning, but we hired a fan. Theres a really good pool and bar and our rep Charlotte was brilliant. We loved it that much, we're going back to the same apartments in September 2009.

I have just got back from what was supposed to be a 10 day stay at D & T. I say that as I couldnt leave and extended my holiday by another 4 days. I,ve been to Zante before so I know the accomodation can be basic and I wasnt expected too much. The studios were very clean,... more

My boyfriend and I booked the Dionysis & Tonia Studios, as we wanted a clean apartment, not too expensive and self-catering. When we got to the studios, there was no air conditioning (fine, as I was aware that this needed to be paid for at the bar!). There were ants all... more

Just got back after a week of staying at the Dionysis & Tonia Studios. Rooms are very basic, but to be honest all we needed was a bed, as we didn't cook at the appartment at all. Apart from the basic rooms the pool at the appartments was okay and the food from the bar there... more

Before arriving at the Dionysis & Tonia (hereafter referred to as DT) my wife and I had read all the reviews we could find on these apartments and quite frankly we were dreading it! We chose this apartment out of necessity because we booked at last minute and so had little... more

Having been to Kalamaki twice before (Staying at the Anagenissis Apartments in 2004, and the Hotel Venus in 2005 – both where lovely and I would definitely stay at either again. The Anagenissis is slightly prettier, but the Venus is in an excellent location), I was a... more

a great place to visit
i can honestly say we had a great time in zakynthos. the accommodation was basic but clean and even tho there were ants we didnt get charged any extra ha ha.in any case how many of us can say we spent a lot of time in our rooms?? the brothers and wives who owned the dionysis and tonia studios were not as bad as some made out,if you speak they do, and they do appreciate it if you try and speak a few little greek words. if you dont know any try and learn the basics, its appreciated. anyway, although the place we stayed in (kalamaki) is fairly small we enjoyed our stay. most mornings we had breakfast at a little cafe over the road called time out, every time we went they made a point of saying hello. we tried the cave bar which is very unusual but really good. places to try for eating out are;the ambrosia.(a family run business) very friendly.we ate in castellos on 3 nights because it was really good, we ate at dias one night but we didnt really llike the food but everyone has different tastes.for the 2 days we had left we ate at our apartments, food wasnt bad. the airport was about 3 miles from where we were staying but to be honest we were fascinated by the planes going over and took pictures. overall i would say to anyone who has never been to kalamaki, please give it a try there is bound to be something you like, the greeks are lovely people but like every other human being get fed up at itmes and especially in 108 degrees, so please be considerate to this. i love greece and have been to many places,i would definately go to zante again. i read reviews for dionysis and tonia studios and they were mixed but instead of taking in the good points i (being a wally)took in the bad points. overall please give everywhere a chance no matter what the reviews because everyone has different opinion and sometimes we can expect too much, i personally love greek culture and dont want to see too much of greece taken over by commercialism. thank you for reading this.xxx
Don't expect the Ritz and you won't be disappointed.
We have just returned from a week in Kalamaki staying at these apartments. They are very basic but given the price you pay you can't grumble. They are owned/run by three brothers who are all very friendly. The apartments have access to pool and bar area. The food is relatively cheap and a good snack just to have around the pool. If you are looking for something special then you will have to try the other restaurants in the area. The apartments are located 5 minutes from the beach and literally a 1 minute work to the main strip. Fanatasic location. Don't expect the Ritz and you won't be disappointed. Its clean and friendly - just what you need for a nice cheap break away. The resort of Kalamaki is lovely and suitable for couples and families. If you are up for a more lively holiday then you are only 5 minutes away in a taxi to the resort of Laganus where the bars and clubs stay open until the small hours of the morning. All in all a great holiday!
