I stayed at the Dionysis and Tonia for two weeks from 16th September to 1st October, 2010. The rooms were basic but very clean, having the bedlinen changed and rooms cleaned every three days. Cooking facilities were, again, basic but who's going to cook a three course gourmet meal in a small studio? There were the usual moans from guests who expected 5 star accommodation for 2+ star prices. The pool was lovely, clean and uncrowded and plenty of sunbeds and parasols for everyone. The pool bar served light meals and drinks all day and was open until late at night. The three brothers who ran things were polite and helpful and spoke good English (useful for those who can't be bothered to learn a few words of Greek!)
In conclusion, the Olympic rep, Dean, was excellent; knew his job and was very efficient.
I would certainly go here again.

My wife and I went to these apartments in July, they were basic, but friendly. No air conditioning, but we hired a fan. Theres a really good pool and bar and our rep Charlotte was brilliant. We loved it that much, we're going back to the same apartments in September 2009.

I have just got back from what was supposed to be a 10 day stay at D & T. I say that as I couldnt leave and extended my holiday by another 4 days. I,ve been to Zante before so I know the accomodation can be basic and I wasnt expected too much. The studios were very clean, beds and towels changed often. The 3 Brothers, Dionysis, Yannis and Spiros made me very welcome. I met the nicest people ever and I will not forget them. All in all the holiday was the best I have ever had. I must also mention the pool as it was fantastic. I,m booking again for september. Cant wait!

My boyfriend and I booked the Dionysis & Tonia Studios, as we wanted a clean apartment, not too expensive and self-catering.
When we got to the studios, there was no air conditioning (fine, as I was aware that this needed to be paid for at the bar!). There were ants all over the place. Two small bedside lights, no hot water, no furniture apart from a small table and two twin beds (with wood in between), not ideal if you want to sleep in the same bed as your partner.
I would NOT recommend this apartment to anyone - we didn't stay there long enough to see if the maid would clean the room as we checked out the following day.
Also, the snack bar is completely over-priced and not very nice.
All in all, you would be better to book somewhere else (preferable not a package deal either!).

Just got back after a week of staying at the Dionysis & Tonia Studios.
Rooms are very basic, but to be honest all we needed was a bed, as we didn't cook at the appartment at all. Apart from the basic rooms the pool at the appartments was okay and the food from the bar there was okay too.
Kalamaki is a great resort. Great bars, restaurants and people... Would recommend mermaids and heaven's kitchen as a good place to eat, and the rose n crown english pub was a good laugh - quizzes and karaoke etc. Apart from the accommodation the holiday was amazing and i loved every bit of it
However the downer of the holiday came on the last day. You must be checked out of your room at 12 (lunchtime) and our flight wasn't till 4 am the following day. Therefore for 16 hours we didnt have anywhere to go. Suitcases can be left at the bar, untill it closes at 12... so for 4 hours my boyfriend and I had to sleep on a sunlounger by the pool, being bitten by bugs, and it was actually quite cold with no blanket. The Olympic rep didnt seem too bothered to help us out either. Therefore I would strongly suggest that you consider your flights when you stay here because no matter what you have to be out by 12, so if you have a flight like we did its a pretty rubbish way to spend your last night!

Before arriving at the Dionysis & Tonia (hereafter referred to as DT) my wife and I had read all the reviews we could find on these apartments and quite frankly we were dreading it! We chose this apartment out of necessity because we booked at last minute and so had little choice.
I just want to say- DT is nowhere near as bad as most people are making out! Ok, so the rooms are basic and have no air conditioning, and the place is run by 3 brothers who are in their 40's...so what? Is that what you go to Greece for? So what if there isn't a flaming egg cup in the kitchen!!? So what if there isn't a shower head holder!?
These apartments are perfectly good to stay in even in August heat (fans can be rented). The brothers (Dionysis, Yanni and Spiros) are not miserable old men, they are actually very pleasant and hard working gentlemen who always made us feel welcome and we passed many a night talking to them in our bar.
Kalamaki itslef is a fantastic resort, the beach is the best I've seen in Greece, the main strip has countless bars, tavernas, restaurants and shops. I recommend Milos, Artemis and the rooftop Italian restaurants, and a great night out may be had at Venue bar (where Shane the fat gay cowboy struts his stuff), Cave bar (where a buggy drives you up to the bar itself situated in a cave) and Oasis bar for a quieter ambient atmosphere.
Overall, a great holiday, and DT was actually a pleasant experience as opposed to what we'd been promised after reading other reviews!

Having been to Kalamaki twice before (Staying at the Anagenissis Apartments in 2004, and the Hotel Venus in 2005 – both where lovely and I would definitely stay at either again. The Anagenissis is slightly prettier, but the Venus is in an excellent location), I was a little disappointed this time around.
As I mentioned, I have been to the resort before, so I kind of knew what to expect. Our holiday was a complete bargain and we were prepared for a basic apartment etc.
The Apartments in the Dionysis and Tonia apartments are very basic. Don’t expect soft pillows and a power shower! Luckily, we didn’t, and knew that we would only be in our room for sleeping and showering.
The kitchen equipment is only really okay for doing stuff like pasta, soup, and simple food. We didn’t have a toaster but other people did, I think it was the luck of the draw! Again, not a problem for us as we ate out every night but I just thought I’d let you know…
The pool is an okay size, just right really and there was a lot of sunbeds available during the day – however the resort was really quiet. The brothers that run the apartments are a bit “funny”. Not funny “Ha ha” but they are just quiet and don’t seem to be talkative. Maybe it’s just because all the other Greeks are so lovely and talkative – it’s a bit of a shock that they don’t make much effort.
Or perhaps it was just because I was there with my mate and they just assumed that two young girls would be trouble (which we were not), or that they did not speak much English.
We did she them talking to some people but we stopped making the effort they seemed like too much hard work for the few times we saw them. This shouldn’t put people off though as every other Greek in Kalamaki is lovely, hospitable, welcoming and so darn good at English it makes you embarrassed you don’t know more of their language!
The apartments are separated on two sides. One side is Dionysis, the other Tonia. My friend and I were on the Tonia side. Unfortunately we did get peeved on quite a few occasions because of the noise from the Greek kids playing by a deserted swimming pool out back.
One particular child kept screaming, a lot. Some local Greek boy racers also use the area to park in and their music could sometimes be ridiculously loud.
Kalamaki is a great resort and good for all ages although this year it was very very quiet! This was September, and the clubs where not staying open late. Laganas is just down the road but it’s nice to have the choice.
Loads of great restaurants – Mermaids is great for lots of choice and Michalos is just the best restaurant ever! Dishes that need to be sampled are: Chicken Slovaki, Chicken Gyros Pitta, and Mushrooms a la crème and Club Sandwiches!

I stayed in the dionysis and tonia in 2008 and 2009, first of all our rep charlotte was amazing she was always on time full of information about island and the excursions she recommended were brillent. iv got to say i came back 2010 she wasnt there a young chap was there no where near half as good!!!!! olympic holidays get her back!!!!
Right the accommendation is basic so welcome to greece, first of all the greeks dont have hooks for shower heads and normally they dont have shower curtains this is there culture and if you are ever luckly to go to a traditionally greek home you will see this, I think anyone who complains about hooks and shower curtains should book a holiday in butlins!!! also for ants, people leaving crumbs etc on the ballcony or leaving food lieing around will get ants same as at home, apart from at home we dont have our doors open half the time much as we do on holiday.
the local area is brillent recommend going to the cave bar and heaading to zante town
The hoteliers are brillent and always there to help yannie is the checky one, dennis is the joker but also the business minded one and saskis is the least speaking english brother but he will do anything to get out of work!!! the maids are the wifes to the brothers they take alot of flack, there english isnt bad but do say hello!!!
i hope this is helped!!
