Lordleaze Hotel reviews

Aug 2007, Mr DJ Spice

Stayed for 2 nights with my wife and 8 month daughter. Friday night was pleasant but managed to get some prawn shell caught in throat and had to go to minor injuries. Hotel did not seem too bothered even when I said I had eaten their tiger prawn pasta! Breakfast was nice... more

Unable to sleep until 1am due to noise!
On arrival, as soon as it had become apparent that there was a wedding reception being held at the hotel we knew we would have to expect some form of noise. It got to 12.20AM and the music had gone but there were still some of the wedding party and a group of other hotel guests drinking outside on the patio, the noise levels were unacceptable for that time of night to the point the wall's and window may as well have been made of paper. I had to call the reception to ask for the noice levels to be kept down as for £110 per night I... more

We always warn people when there is a wedding party on - the misic is not loud and always finishes by midnight. When this guest rang reception at 12.10 am we realised that some guests were outside (smoking) making a noise - we asked them to come inside and all was peaceful again(12.20am). There is no other noise in this peaceful setting so don't be put off!

Friendly, well run hotel, excellent food, great for guests with dogs.
I stayed at the Lordleaze for two nights (midweek) with my husband and two dogs. It's an excellent place to stay with dogs having a nearby field to walk them in (this is used as a dog walk by local residents so there are usually other dog walkers and the occasional joggers - keeping dogs on lead recommended). Our room (22) was downstairs with its own door giving onto the patio so we didn't have to take the dogs through the hotel which was very convenient. The management is excellent, friendly and helpful. All staff were very friendly... more

This was one of our 2 disabled bathrooms - all other 23 rooms have bath or shower trays etc..

OK for a midweek business stop
Booked through Laterooms, at £75 bed and breakfast I expected something a little better. The bedroom was very plain and apart from the lcd tv, old fashioned, although the bathroom looked recently updated, and even so, had peeling paint to the walls above. You get charged £7-50 for wi-fi, but their signal is poor and most of the bedrooms can't receive it - the alternative is to base yourself around reception. The lady booking me in (and another booking me out the morning after) could have been friendlier, but both seemed like I... more

Yes we have upgraded all of our bathrooms and televisions- we now also have strong wi-fi signal throughout all bedrooms and public areas available from as little as £2.93 for those who require it.

They'll take good care of your mother-in-law (they'll take good care of YOU!)
Several members of the family were accommodated at very short notice due to problems with booked rooms at another venue. Everyone enjoyed their stay. Nothing was too much trouble and all staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, without exception. The food was excellent and difficult diets were catered for.
Good for weddings!!
This is a family run hotel. We were invited to a wedding evening reception but decided to make a day of it and arrived before the bride got back from the church. The location is unusual. It is located through a housing estate, and then out on a private road and well hidden from the houses...a real country setting. Reception is friendly, rooms are nice (not as big as one such as a Best Western or as modern) but adequate. Due to the main wedding reception taking place, the bar was naturally very busy and so we waited until... more

All of our bathrooms have been upgraded to a high standard with high water pressure.

Love Lordleaze
I stay at the Lordleaze regularly as I have business nearby. This is one of the only hotels I stay in regularly that I am really comfortable in. Robin, the owner, goes out of his way to make you feel welcome, and always has time to have chat with you. Thr rooms are of adequate size, clean and comfortable, if a littel old fashioned. The showers in the of the older rooms are less than fantastic in terms of pressure, but in the newer rooms have plenty of pressure. The food is very, very good; breakfasts are delicious. The... more

We have recently upgraded all of our bathrooms and waterpressure to a high standard.

Good but plan carefully
The web site says “The secluded surroundings of Lordleaze Hotel is a perfect location for those seeking peace and tranquillity,” and indeed this proved to be the case on both mornings we were at the hotel. The weekend we stayed was hot and sunny but the evenings were far from ‘peace and tranquillity’. So what shattered the ‘peace and tranquillity’? Quite simply, the hotel had a function on Friday night and an evening wedding reception on the Saturday night. The noise from the Friday guests on the outdoor patio made it... more

As said our service, food & cleanliness is very good, among other things this makes us a popular hotel for both residents and functions. We welcome everyone warmly and enjoy looking after them all.
