Loved our stay at the Faros
from carrigman
My wife and I have just returned from a fortnight at the Faros. We were very pleased with the hotel. The room had a sea/pool view and was nice and spacious. It came equipped with a small fridge for which there was a charge per night if you wished to use it (we did). The only thing missing was a hair dryer so remember to pack one. It is ideally located - a short stroll to the excellent beach but far away enough from the centre of Ayia Napa ( a 5 min walk) to ensure peace and quiet at night. The staff were very friendly and in particular Andy the head barman, Miki the entertainments director, and Maria , a waitress with perfect English. The swimming pool is superb (see attached photo) and was remarkably quiet during our stay. At times it felt as if it was our own private pool there were so few people in it! We were on a B&B rate and the buffet breakfast every morning was great. We only dined there at night on one occasion but the buffet was fine. We preferred going out to restaurants and our favourites were Castellis and Blueberries. We really enjoyed our stay in Ayia Napa and intend returning there again next year and we will definitely stay in the Faros. Highly recommended.
Fantastic Faros

What can i say,im sittin in rain sodden Tamworth thinking "this time last week" or if only my lotto numbers come up,having just returned from a fantatsic week at the Faros. This hotel realy has it all,(for the price) great location, good food, clean & tidy, friendly staff, brill pool, and above all peaceful.Did not hear a noise at night yet within five mins your at the centre of all whats good about napa, loads of bars, restaurants, fairs, shops, and people out to have a good time, yes it is boisterous, yes it is noisey with all the scooters, cars, quad bikes and music but its not just the 18-30 crowd theres loads of families and wrinkleys like us enjoying the atmosphere. We stayed b&b in a garden room which was brill, lots of space,clean,10 yards to the pool, and best of all good quiet air con ( weather touched 40 some days). For breakfast you could have eggs, bacon, saus, toms ect,or you could eat heathily ie yogut, fruit, bran,we ate out every night but if we stayed for a fortnight i would take advantage of the hotels flexy dinning, min 4 meals 7c£ per meal each.Of the three main restaurants on the harbour all had great food but our favourite was Vassos, very romantic looking out to sea.On the main street up to the square, while the best food was at the Castelli, our favourite was the Ravens Rook(opp the taxi rank) because you eat upstairs on the balcony, not only was the food excellent to watch the hussle and bussle of all the action below and how the cars do not crash into each other is amazing. We go on holiday to relax so can not comment on any tours, apart from the waterpark which was fantastic, get there early (taxi 5c£)because after 3pm it becomes cheaper and you get all the 18-30 crowd in. MINUS POINTS. Lack of security at hotel meant any one could walk into the garden/pool area from the open side of the grounds and because the hotel has a great pool non residents often did taking up sunbeds. On the subject of sunbeds why does every hotel we stay in always state no towels on sunbeds before a certain time, yet non of them ever do anythink about it.We were having to reserve at 7.30,and even more annoying some were reserving ,then walking off not to return till late afternoon. Finally there is building work opposite the front of the hotel but in the garden rooms and around the pool we never heard nothing all week, no smells,no dust,no mess.but to be safe i would recommend a pool/garden view or if you can afford the extra go for the garden suites. I would just like to thank fellow tripadvisors, because of their reviews we chose the Faros and have just had one of our best weeks holidays ever. CHEERS ANDYCHILL.
Fantastic Faros
from Loopylil
I chose to stay at the Faros based on the good reviews on trip adviser and I wasnt disappointed. The staff are great, the location is fantastic, right near the beach and just far enough from the square! We stayed in the Garden Suites which are worth the extra money. The pools are amazing too, especially if you have children. Overall this is a fantastic hotel that is great value for money. We will definitely return one day!
Ideal location
from Lin0
Our stay at Faros Hotel was more than we could ask for, especially considering the money we paid! The staff was very friendly and the service was at its best. We had arrived late at night after having long delays with our flight and the welcoming was excellent. They would go out of their way to suit our needs. The hotel in general is very nice and clean and the food had a great variety. The pool area is my favorite with a very conveniently (at least to my taste) bar placed in the pool. But the best of all is its location since it's right next the small Ayia Napa harbor and the beach as well as five minutes walking distance from the heart of Ayia Napa. I am definitely going back there again!
Solid 3 star hotel, Ayia Napa truly not for everyone
from Alihirocat
Having stayed at more hotels than I care to remember ranging from no stars to one of the few 6 stars, this is best described as a 3 star. Food tastes fine, but don't expect creativity or much variety. Rooms are neither bad nor good, just what you expect for the price on your visa bill. Surprisingly quiet at night for the location. The funny thing about this hotel is that if you want to go to Ayia Napa for what it has to offer (drinking, tattoo parlours, strip clubs, leave the beach to go to the bar) then this hotel would disappoint. But, if you find the hotel relaxing, and quaint you probably will hate Ayia Napa. Overall there is value for your money, but the hotel felt to me to be an isolated island within a seedy summer fair.
A good holiday
from jMarS
My boyfriend and I have just returned home from a week's holiday at the Faros Hotel. Overall, it was a good holiday but we do have a couple of grumbles about the hotel. The good points are that it is in a great location as it is right by the harbour and just a short walk to the main square. Everything in Ayia Napa is on your doorstep but it still seems remarkably quiet and tranquil in the hotel. The pool area is great. The usual sun-bed reserving at the crack of dawn went on but despite this we still managed to find beds even in the afternoon. The hotel and it's grounds were clean and modern looking. Our room was basic but had everything we needed - a comfy bed, air con, a balcony, a fridge and safe at a small extra cost. The staff on the whole were friendly. The holiday got off to a bit of a bad start for us when we arrived at the hotel. I booked the holiday through expedia which matches up best availble flights with accomodation without involving a tour opporator. I booked a flight for 29th Sept which arrived on the morning of the 30th so the hotel was booked for the 30th. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the hotel, knackered after travelling all night and desperate for some sleep we were told by the night porter that they weren't expecting us and that there was no room ready for us. He said we had to wait until the staff arrived at 7am and they might be able to help. At 7 we were told that there might be a room a 7.30, at 7.30 we were told that we couldn't check in until 2pm. I can understand that the hotel has a usual check in time of 2pm but surely they have to cater for guests with night flights. After some arguing and pleading and a couple of hours of sleeping in the lobby they did find us a room, it was just dissappointing that the standard of customer service couldn't have been better. This something to bare in mind when booking with expedia - it seems that to avoid this we should have booked a room from the 29th even though we wouldn't arrive until the 30th. Another thing that let the hotel down was the shower in our room. They seem to have a water pressure problem so we had to shower under a trickly of water. The food was also a bit average at best. Breakfast was ok but was exactly the same each day so got boring by the end of the week. The snack bar was hit and miss but there are plenty of nicer places to eat near by. As for Ayia Napa itself, I have never been there before and, despite all the good things I'd heard I was worried that we'd hate the tackiness. However, we liked the place. We found a couple of really good restaurants, particularly the Lime Light Taverna where I had the best steak of my life one night and Lobster another. The touts in the harbour and the square were a pain but other that that the nightlife was fun. I would recommend this hotel for it's location and pool area. It's just a shame that the staff can't put in that extra bit of effort with customer service and food to make the hotel excellent.

The Faros hotel lived up to all our expectations. We were in the sea view rooms and they were a great size clean and well kept by friendly cleaning staff. The pool area is fantastic and is brilliantly maintained and the swim up bar was great! All in all folks i can thoroughly reccommend this place and if i go back to Ayia Napa i will be staying here.

Excellent Value - Great Location
from beaubrummie
Have just returned from this hotel and can honestly say it is excellent value for money. The pool area is lovely with plenty of sunbeds. We stayed in what is classed as a suite or garden bungalow which is really a superior room in a two storey block in the hotel grounds - the ground floor suites being bigger than the first floor. You were provided with a fridge, safety deposit box (nominal charge), hairdryer and beach towels and the room was kept spotlessly clean by the cleaning staff who were all extremely pleasant. The hotel is in a quiet location close to the harbour but is within a ten minute walk of the Square. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Would certainly return to this hotel.
The hotel as described on the Hotel's web site, is in a great location, minutes from the center of Ayia Napa, close to all amenities and beaches. Not much more you could ask for in location. The breakfast was great, huge choice, staff were friendly and always willing to... more
