This hotel is set in attractive grounds near the beach. The pools are nice with plenty of space to move around and find a peaceful spot.

The pool has a lovely fountain in the middle that distracted the noise away from other people and made it feel quite relaxed. The hotel was quite busy for the time of year but the prices were good.

The room was comfortable, with plenty of space but the decor was a bit dated. It was clean though.

The food at the hotel was nothing special. We ate out most of the time as it seemed cheaper and better. Lots of restaurants to choose from nearby.

It was a nice break, and we enjoyed the weather and the pool, staff were friendly and helpful but food pricey.

My husband and I stayed here for a week in May, we had a good time. The hotel was nicely presented, and clean throughout. The whole hotel seemed very modern and as though it may have been redecorated recently.

The room was extremely comfortable. Very large with a separate sitting area and TV, with a nice balcony. The bathroom in the room was quite small but adequate, and clean.

The highlight of our stay was the pool. It is a really relaxing place and just to chill out and sunbathe was wonderful.

The hotel had restaurants and snack bars etc. The food we had there was of good quality but we tended to head to Ayia Napa for evening meals, where there was a huge selection of quality restaurants.

We have just returned from our family holiday at the Faros Hotel somewhat disappointed. We chose the hotel based on our previous visits over the past 6 years. Having three children aged 5 and under we wanted the familiarity of knowing what to expect. On arrival at the hotel after a 12 hour journey the hotel did not have record of our booking!! We were told the hotel was full, yet after 1 & 1/2 hours in reception and discussions with 'food & beverage manager' a room was 'found' for us!!

Upon later discussions with fellow hotel guests it soon became clear that overbooking had been the norm this summer with guests frequently being asked to move to one of the hotel groups other hotels in other resorts!! We were also disappointed by the diminishing facilities - air conditioning in reception and dining room used to be excellent but now very poor, the pool bar was not open, the feature pool fountain was not working, the ice-cream/ice lolly fridge at the poolside bar was very poorly stocked and not replenished during our two week stay, 75% of lighting in the hotel foyer and the bridgeway to the garden suites did not work. Whilst the cleaners do an excellent job keeping the rooms well serviced and clean the soft furnishings and linen are now in much need of updating and replacing.

Unfortunately the impression we were left with following this years visit was one of severe cost cutting. If the Faros Hotel underwent a substantial refurbishment we would definitely return as the location is absolutely perfect.

I went to Ayia Napa for my brother's wedding, and was a little apprehensive about the resort. Well it is like Blackpool with the sun, but the hotel was excellent.

Faros is by the harbour and far enough away from the madness of the town centre to be quiet but everything is close by, e.g. tavernas, shops, bank and even a taxi rank! The pool is very good and breakfast is buffet style with plenty of choice.

If you want to explore then again you can hire beach style buggies or cars/jeeps again right outside the hotel.

I was pleasantly surprised.

My one gripe is with the homeward travel arrangements. As usual the tour operator organise the transfer coaches to suit their flights, which means that everyone is dumped at the airport at the same time regardless of which flight they are on.

Larnaca is not a big airport so this caused chaos and our flight was delayed by an hour to wait for people to board. Package travel for you!

If I go again I would get a cheap flight to Larnaca and get a taxi (cost 30ish CYP£) both ways to cut down on delays.

The Faros is the opposite end of Ayia Napa from the Square and lively nightlife, but this is ideal as it's only 15 mins walk at the most. Me and a friend went for the last week of Sept and first week of Oct, and even then the weather was so good that the aircon in the room was a godsend. Our room was spotless, and the maid cleaned and tidied every day, new towels are left once a week, I think.

All staff are really friendly and helpful, and the pool is amazing. For a 3 star hotel you would expect something a little smaller, but the pools (1 landscaped and another with fountains) were always clean, never really busy, and the high point of the holiday. At times the sun bed reserving was a bit hectic, god knows how early people would get up to bag their bed!

We were B&B, and found the cooked breakfast nice, if boring. There were cereals and a continental provided, but even these weren't great. Bar food was really good, even better than the evening dinners. Beware though, you may think you're getting a small sandwich, but everything comes with piles of chips and salad. No small portions at all! The Greek salad was also fab.

Magaluf was a wonderful resort with very beautiful beaches and pools. The hotel was perfect, It was clean, respectful, and supplied everything you would need for a week of relaxation.

The pool area was spectacular, it contained 3 swimming pools, one of which was indoor and a bar with every snack you could think of.

The entertainment was brilliant, my favourite being 'Abba'. I would also like to point out that the staff were both friendly and pleasant. Overall money was well spent, A holiday I would most definitely recommend.
