A friend and I spent the last week of January 2012 here and we had a terrific time. There were plenty of loungers by the pool - who would've thought we'd be by the pool in January!!! The food in the restaurant was delicious and the house wine very good too. We had paella... more

I have been to the Duans club apartments twice and I am returning once again in January.
The overall cleanliness is great, all the amenities in the apartments are very good. When we go to Corralejo we would stay nowhere else.
Staff are more than helpful, great restaurant and snack bar.

This is our second year at Dunas Club and all I can say is fantastic. The reception staff are really friendly especially Lorenzo and Laura (receptionist). The rooms are very well equipped with a microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, iron and ironing board and the maid... more

The Ying and The Yang of the Dunas Club and Corralejo
This is what we were promised: excellent location, fantastic facilities, very near dunes (hence the name) and great entertainment. This is what we expected: pleasant location, above average faciltites, quite near dunes and some entertainment. This is what we got: convinient location, poor facilities, 45 min walk to dunes and the radio on a tannoy for entertainment. All this was ok for 199 quid but as we later found out there are MUCH better places to go for your money. The important word above about location is convinient. It is right next to the harbour and within spitting distance to the main strip. All this would be fine but the area where the harbour is is like a run down and depressing housing estate and the main strip is very much on the verge of being a centre for a million English cliches (but there are some hidden gems see further below). The rooms themselves were dark, unimaginative and for a self-catering apartment there was little in the way of cooking tools. The swimming pool area is lifeless and the pool itself not heated so fathering children after a dip may prove a little difficult. So that was the bad, but there was much good about my holiday. the staff at the Dunas were lovely and most helpful, the place was spotlessly clean and the bar/restaurant was modern and had a great atmoshphere generated from the both locals and tourists (coffees tasty too!). Lorenzo the camp, helpful receptionist recommended to go to a little bar called Blanco Cafe just before the main strip. Here myself and my lovely girlfriend enjoyed lovely wine and beer in a tiny but warm candle-lit and refined oasis of a place- away from the tac of the town. The distance to the dunes turned out to be a god-send as the walk along the coast was lovley and gave us something to do. Any walk is well worth it once you get there. Simply spectacutlar and worth all 199 quid alone (just watch out for naked old men). A recommended respite would be the lovely pool bar at the Caleta Del Mar (say hi to helful cornish barman who we labelled malcom). Once leaving the dunes rather than geting a cab back (there really is no excuse in such a small resort) wlak along the main roads towards the main street and there is a lovely bowling alley! Once at the main street you come to one of the hidden gems. This is the La Tasca restaurant. The best one in Corralejo. Order the prawns in garlic for starter. The menu is lovely but steer clear of the mixed grill. It's sheer size will consume you until you become a cow with legs of a chicken, ribs of a pig and a torso of a little sheep. Tasty tasty tasty. The second hidden gem is the music square with delightful caberet acts, the kind often riducled in the fast show and other comedic displays- but i reckon the eurpoeans just know how to let their hair down and have fun better than we do! In sum. there were two sides to our holiday the ying and the yang. for every 10 english breakfaststs there was a Blanco Cafe and for every unheated pool there was a sand dune and for every 10 taj mahal restaurants there was a La Tasca. 199 quid well spent but only after getting used to my heart intially sinking and then digging deeper in the funny little town of corralejo. (special thanks to hiperdino supermarket, Lee the rep and Lorenzo the wiseman!) By the way they dont sell TomToms in Fuerteventura- trust me I know!
Great location/friendly staff
We booked this aparthotel as a last minute holiday with Thomas Cook. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice these apartments were and in a fabulous location. Close enough to the town centre to enjoy the shops and restaurants, but not so close to hear the noise of bars etc. The staff were very (very) helpful, we asked for a second fan - it arrived next morning, we asked for more pillows - also there next morning. A bulb went, within minutes a man appeared to replace. My only negative comments would be that there is no air con at all there. This wasn't a problem to us as we were there in Jan so the evenings were cool, it would be very hot in summer. Also the pool was unheated so was blooming freezing. Would recommend 'windy millers' a British bakery around the corner from hotel. Lovely pies, pasties and cakes as well as hot food!
Very Nice Place
Went to dunas club for 2 weeks in july, had never been to fuerteventura before, i would defenitly go back if was was just me and my partner, but not with my stepson again as there was very little for him to do, not very many children staying at Dunas seemed to be more older people as did the rest of fuerteventura(Except plenty of spanish kids everywhere as they get nearly 3 months off school in season). The one bedroom apartments are very spacious could not fault them at all, Even though it advertises a iron in the room i would take your own as the one we had blew the electric so we exchanged it at reception and that one did the same! Cleaners are round all the time changing the sheets and even tidying for you. Gym a little out of date but that didnt really bother us. All in all good holiday, The cheapest way to eat is chinese only around 7 euros for eat as much as you like and was really nice i myself am a big chinese addict and i could not fault any of the food, and there are plenty of them around. All in all we found the holiday to be quite expensive to what we are used to,Usually going to Turkey Nice change but defenitlty not for kids not much night life either.
Excellent Food
This is a lovely, quiet place to stay. The rooms are adequate, the staff are friendly and its convenient for the beaches, a simple bus ride away. The restaurant is excellent and cheap and we enjoyed a variety of seafood dishes cooked to an excellent standard. This is the only place I've stayed that gives stuff away free, with free paella on a Monday lunchtime and a free bottle of the fizzy stuff for me on my birthday. I would recommend the Dunas Club if you are looking for a quiet place to stay, away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre, yet with all the amenities within walking distance.
loved the place
returned to this apartment block for the fifth time and cannot understand some of the negative comments. we have always found them to be clean plenty of room and well equiped compared to other apartments. The pool area as the comfiest sunbeds you have been on and the staff are extremely helpful. It is in a good position right near the sea just a nice stroll from town which is lovely after a few drinks to get back. The bar area as just been updated and serves extremely good value meals. Cant wait to return.
Fab Hotel!
I was a little worried after booking this hotel as someone had said it was awful! I shouldnt of worried, it was a fab hotel. The rooms were basic but very clean and well furnished. Reception were very helpful on a number of occasions. The hotel is located near the harbour, I thought this would be a problem as I usually stay the other end of the resort, but Its easier to get to shops/restaurants etc and the views are fantastic! You can see lanzarote on a clear day and also los lobos island. The only small thing I oculd criticise was the pool is a little on the small side, so may get quite busy at peak season. We used to go to the pool around 5/6pm when every1 else left to get it to ourselves! Was lovely tho, and the restaurant and food were superb. We went out most nights into town but when we visited the rest on site we wished we had found it sooner! Overall I give this 10 / 10. Its not a 5* by no means, but if you want a nice beach holiday with comfortable and clean accom this is the place!
Good Location at the Dunas Club
The location of the Dunas Club is excellent if you want a relaxing time in fuerteventura. As a family of four it was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the main high street. The rooms were adequate, but we found the drinks at the hotel bar very expensive. The pool is a sun trap but very, very cold. Be warey of the hassle you may get from so called holiday company promotors offering prizes of champagne and money off holidays they tend to hang around the corner in front of the beach and go to the market on market day. The English bakery Windy Millers is just around the corner and saved the day for fresh bread. Los Pepes and El Sombrero are quality restaurants, but a little on the expensive side. If you wish to eat cheaply you will find many chinese buffet style restaurants touting for your custom. Overall fuerteventura is a relaxing place and we enjoyed our stay at the Dunas Club.
Best Holiday
19/10/2005 This Hotel is in the old town of Corralejo close to the harbour front and for 3 star is of a high standard with a new pool this year, the beach,s are clean sand and good swimming in the sea, there are two cafes which we can say are good places to eat the first close by is the Clock House we eat here Many times in 2 weeks and is well priced, the other is call Penny Lane and is 3/4 the way up the main street down a side road to the beach eat here and you find good food and very pleasant owner both places are english, Just round the corner street is an English Bakery for afternoon tea and cakes first class If you are looking for and quite Holiday and just do very little then Corralejo this the place to go. There are some glass bottom boat trips to Lobos Island take about an hour there and back and is worth a look. The blue flag beach just outside the town but you need to take the no 6 bus from the harbour.
fab dunas
Just come back from Dunas Club, we went with another couple and our 10 year old son, staff were exceptionally helpful, cleaners superb, brillant food in complex should you wish to eat there, most of the people staying had been before and we will certainly go back again, pool clean, a bit cool but much needed in the heat, unfortunately games room wasnt open, but had so much to do didnt really miss it great location, just on the outskirts of the main harbour area which is bustling with cafes, bars and restaurants, alot of people wasnt satisfied about the dunas on this website, but when in Rome, as they say try and go for more spanish tapas, rather than english. We will be returning shortly.
loved dunas club aparthotel corrallejo fuerteventura
Just stayed at Dunas Club Aparthotel for a week, it was a great holiday the hotel although not new is great, spotless clean, and didnt see an ant or cockroach anywhere, will definitely go back again next january, its right on the harbour with lovely views, and you can see Lanzarote from there. For a very friendly welcome and great food a visit to Diddler Doyles is a must, its just around the corner, Michael and Elaine will make you so welcome, they are a lovely couple. In the town the chinese ( well one of many ) called the Pani serves great food, and very reasonable, also the indian called the Bombay is excellent. You really cant go wrong for places to eat in Corrallejo, as there are so many of them. I found the drinks to be expensive in the Dubliner which is situated in the Atlantico centre, but depends on your means I suppose. The harbour is beautiful where you can walk along with numerous bars and cafes, and lovely sandy beaches, but be warned it gets very windy, so take your fleece, that wind is cold at night.
