Dunas Club Apartments Reviews

Go here - but be careful which travel company you use.....

Feb 2012, mammacass

A friend and I spent the last week of January 2012 here and we had a terrific time. There were plenty of loungers by the pool - who would've thought we'd be by the pool in January!!! The food in the restaurant was delicious and the house wine very good too. We had paella twice in the week, we were that impressed. The apartments were perfectly situated, close to the harbour and local restaurants/shops etc.
The only thing that marred the holiday were Thomas Cook. On arrival we were in and out of the transfer coach so many times other people on there thought we had our braces caught! We were offloaded at the wrong hotel 3 times - and late at night this did not impress.
Our journey home was plagued by a 24 hour delay on our flight. The way Thomas Cook handles this delay was unbelievable. We waited in Departures till the boarding time had come and gone and then all the passengers were trying to find someone from Thomas Cook, but there was no one about. Eventually a tannoy message told us we would have to spend the night in a hotel and that we should make our way downstairs to check-in, picking up our luggage on the way. This would have been acceptable had they taken responsibility for us, but instead we stood there waiting to be dealt with. The lights in the airport went out and still we waited. Eventually (after about an hour) we were told to go outside to the car park where 2 coaches would take us to our hotel. Out we went....and then they put the car park lights out too! One passenger fell and was taken to hospital, unconscious. We hoped that they would take us back to our original apartment but they stuck us in what can only be described as a cross between Butlins and a rough old housing estate. The Broncemar Beach, Caleta de Fuste is absolutely awful. The rooms smelled of damp and cigarettes and I did not sleep as I felt it was too grubby. The breakfast in the morning was so bad I had a roll, tea and a pieve of fruit. We sat at a table waiting for the rep to report what would be happening, when one of the 'entertainment crew' came and asked if we would like to take part in the competition. What competition, you ask - HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE HIM TO EAT 8 MUFFINS!!! By this point we'd had enough. We beat a hasty retreat after finding out when the coach would be collecting us. All I can say is - if you are staying at the Broncemar, then prepare yourself....
All the relaxation from our week in the sun was ruinded by Thomas Cook and their totally inept dealings.
So, stay at the Dunas Club Apartments, you will have a great time - but don't do so with Thomas Cook.

Aug 2011, snozzers

We stopped at the Dunas for two weeks in November 2010 . As soon as we got back to the UK we booked again for three weeks in November 2011 !
We found it excellent a really great find. Clean , comfy and friendly.
Great food in the hotel if you dont want to go out or cook for yourself.
Location perfect for getting about the island by bus .
Excellent location for getting into the town to sample the local delights. Far enough out of the way to avoid the idiots on the main drag but close enough if you want to join them !
The pool area is quite pleasant and sometimes when its really windy on the beaches its a pleasant to just enjoy the sanctuary out of the wind.
Enjoy

Oct 2010, :))

Been to Corri' many times and stayed from one end of the island to another.
Each placed we stayed we have never said wont return until now!
We must have been unlucky with our room as it was cramped as we didnt have a seperate bedroom area, and all could be heard all night was the fridge rattling and when that stopped the Taxi rank noise started up.
Very clean, but very hot due to the long corridors unless you overlooked the pool area.
We didnt have food there due to hearing a few stories about it not being very good.Never stayed at the harbour before and the hotel was very plain and boring to look at,so if you want to be near bars and pretty views this is not for you.
Theres so many more lovely places in Corri',dont let this one put you off.

I have been to the Duans club apartments twice and I am returning once again in January.
The overall cleanliness is great, all the amenities in the apartments are very good. When we go to Corralejo we would stay nowhere else.
Staff are more than helpful, great restaurant and snack bar.

This is our second year at Dunas Club and all I can say is fantastic. The reception staff are really friendly especially Lorenzo and Laura (receptionist).
The rooms are very well equipped with a microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, iron and ironing board and the maid service is exceptional - towels changed every 2 days - we even had a plasma TV in our room (room 215) all at no charge.
La Luna Bar/Restaurant attached to hotel is excellent with first class service from its staff.
There is a lifeguard on duty every day and location is very central to all bars and some great restaurants, especially Argentinean steak house and Chinese restaurant Hong Kong (opposite police station) with buffet only at 7 Euros per person fantastic value and great food.
The brilliant Sand Dunes are only 10 mins away on local bus from bus station No.6 - 1.10 Euros each - a must do!!
We will be returning to Dunas Club for a third time next time - great value for money - What can I say - brill!
