Great hotel.
from Kent_UK_Traveller
Hi all, its Kath, Amy and Katy here, thanks again for a great time at the Miray, it’s our 4th time at your hotel and it gets better every time. If you’re looking for a good value hotel in Icmeler, you really don’t need to look any further. The rooms are clean, tidy and fairly spacious. The staff and management (omer) are extremely helpful and friendly. The location of the Miray is really good, with just a 5 minute walk to the beach, and great for all the restaurants and bars you could wish for. Though you have to pay £30 for the air conditioning, it’s a small price to pay to keep cool in the blistering heat. We were there in Aug and it hit 45-48 Deg every day. We have just come back (7th Oct) and its still 34 Deg. So £5 per day to get a good night sleep is well worth it. Looking forward to seeing you all again real soon. Kath, Amy and Katy.

Loved Miray
from karamolly
Having stayed at this Hotel in May and enjoyed it so much that i booked and went back for two weeks in august aswell. The staff are extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them, the rooms were cleaned everyday with clean laundry and bedding everyday. The pool area is kept clean and tidy and drinks are brought to you whenever you require them. The adjoining bar area at the front of the Hotel hotel has some lively lads dancing and helping you enjoy your stay and at the otherside a supermarket for your everyday needs. The Hotel is centrally located for the beautiful beach and all the shopping you will require.I have enjoyed my stay there so much i am returning in october with my fiance and we are holding our wedding reception at the Hotel, i could not think of a nicer friendlier place, i would highly recommend a stay there and hope you enjoy it as much as i have.
Update to Watch this Space from Jadestar53. Overview - Fabulous!
from Jadestar48
I am in fact Jadestar53...but I couldn't sign in so I re-registered as Jadestar48. I promised to update my first report at the end of the holiday...so as promised...read on... Brilliant! We had a fabulous stay at the Miray Hotel. The family staff, from cleaners to management, were absolutely excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them...you have only to ask! The warmth and efficiency of their hospitality was second to none and we left feeling we had made new friends and cannot wait to return! We plan to do this in October 2007 and know that we will receive a very warm welcome. The pool area was lovely offering both sun and shade with plenty of space for everyone. Meals were available from U2, whose food, incidentally, was both excellent and reasonably priced. Our room was large and comfortable with an en suite and outside balcony. Lovely to sit out on and survey the town while soaking up the sun! The room was cleaned daily and towels and sheets changed on a regular basis, service with a smile from other members of the family! In my first report I mentioned the noise level from U2, the outdoor restaurant, in the evenings and at breakfast time. U2, as do all restaurants in Icmeler, have musical entertainment until midnight. There are strict regulations which mean all the restaurants etc. have to be silenced at midnight, although they may and generally do remain open. These evenings are huge fun and the staff at U2 are also helpful, friendly, very welcoming and fun. The breakfast news noise was remedied simply by request the very next morning. We discovered from talking to fellow guests that several people staying at The Miray had in fact requested to be moved to The Miray from supposed four star hotels! They were so impressed that we were told how lucky we were to have chosen The Miray in the first instance. Indeed guests were voluntarily paying an extra single room supplement to be transferred to the Miray in order to enjoy its atmosphere and warm hospitality. My husband and I have no reservations about recommending this wonderful hotel to those wishing to enjoy a first class experience in Turkey at a realistically, affordable price. For us this was a real Utopian experience! Well done Omer and family...hope to see you all soon. Please give our regards to all the staff in U2 especially Salli. Hilary and Paul Selby

The Mıray Hotel ıs a lovely hotel based ın the centre of Icmeler's tourıst attractıons. We arrıved yesterday and far from the last comment that was posted on thıs sıte we have found that the hotrel ıs under new management and they have been warm, welcomıng and helpful. We had a delıghtful breakfast, alfresco, of local bread, cheese, eggs, tomato, cucumber,olıves ,jams, tea and coffee (as much as you wanted of any dısh). We enjoyed a relaxed day ın and by the pool. The pool ıs ın the shade ın the late afternoon but thıs ıs a bonus ın the heat and there are sunbeds and areas of sun ın whıch to contınue sunbathıng ın a relaxed and frıendly atmosphere. We have been out and about ın the town and found everyone to be very welcomıng and frıendly. We have booked up 2 sea trıps (cheaper through local agents as opposed to your travel rep!) Nıghtlıfe ıs lıvely but quıetens down at mıdnıght. We are greatly lookıng forward to the rest of our stay at the Mıray wıth Omar and hıs staff. Watch thıs space for an update!!! awful experience
from coolboy1
This was our fist visit to Turkey, and what a dissapointment. We were put in a room which was internal in the hotel lobby and the noise of the hotel echoed up to our rooms so much we could hear conversations of other guests. Needless to say we asked to move rooms only to be given a room over the disco capital of the area! We asked for a quiet resort and this was anything but. All discos in the one street competing for buisness. There were also no sheets on the bed, we had to ask for a blanket. The staff were not professional at all and at breakfast wore jeans and T shirts - no uniforms. Staff were seen smoking and the breakfasts consisted of hard boiled eggs and coffee - nothing else. If you are looking for just a bed and a party holiday ( and you have no standards at all ) this is the place for you. Pitty it put us off Turkey. We moved to a fab hotel down the road.

Excellent - Miray Icmelar
from JimEsther
Miray is a new hotel bang in the centre of town. It's clean, modern and well presented if a little on the basic side. We had a double room with balcony and it was absolutely fine. The best feature is its location. Frankly we only slept there and little else as the beach is literally 2 mins walk and all of the bars and restaurants are within easy reach. Icmeler is a great resort spoiled only slightly by being Blackpool in the sun, everywhere promotes their English menu! Good, authentic Turkish food can be found, the best we encountered was at Coco Beach (definitely try the roast lamb-best we've ever had, you have to order a day before) and Liberty both on the beach front (ask someone where they are). There is a bar attached to the hotel called Troys staffed by a bunch of very friendly guys who make every effort to interact with guests. If you are so inclined, the following aspects may get on your nerves: -The hotel has a small pool and is in the shade for much of the day - go to the beach. -The hotel staff can be overly familiar which could be annoying to some. If this bothers you just eat somewhere else. We never ate at Troys but still got on with the staff just fine. -The staff of most restaurants will hassle you a bit and will try to make you feel guilty if you go anywhere else to eat - be firm and polite, accept that this is the Turkish way. Just give a 'no thank you' and keep walking. Once you decline most of them will leave your alone. -The bar, and the one across the road, play very load music which stops at midnight. - didn't bother us but we had no kids to put to bed! -There are six rooms in the hotel with no external balcony - I would avoid these if you can. -The a/c and safe in your room will cost you £30 and £15 respectively - suck it up and pay for them, it was very hot indeed! Overall we were very impressed and had a fabulous week in the sun. We Brits do ourselves few favours sometimes and I guess if we all try our hardest to eat awful English food when we are abroad then the ‘English Pub, English Breakfast’ phenomena will plague beautiful little resorts like Icmelar. Still, thouroughly recommend Miray and the resort.
just got back from icmeler and stayed at Miray. Upset when we got there as mix up with room bookings but as soon as we saw Omar (owner)in the morning , he had no hesitation in changing us to more suitable rooms ( and there were eight of us in our group) The hotel hasn't got... more
