Nice hotel, but nothing outstanding. There were many imperfections (mentioned below), which do not let me say that Alion is a true five-star hotel. Generally: the hotel is very poorly decorated both in public premises and guest rooms. Rooms: need some renovation to look neat. The lighting was very bad for both reading&writing. Shower water changed from cold to hot within seconds and overall the pressure was quite poor. Fantastic Wedding at Alion Beach from markbuchan
We recently stayed at the Alion Beach Hotel and had our wedding there, we had travelled over to Cyprus with a large group of people, but it was just the 2 of us who were staying at the hotel. The staff couldn't have done enough for us they were so friendly each morning we went for breakfast and on the day of our wedding could not have been more accommodating. Well, what else can i say but Amazing. Fabulous food, Breathtaking view, great pool, great service, clean and well kept rooms and stunning grounds. Glorious sandy beach on the door step. I have booked the hotel via Thomson holidays. We arrived in the hotel with our 8month son. Reception was polite and we checked in and went to our room. I was an average 5star hotel room. Had a baby cod and garden view. Amenities were fine although I had to leave a deposit for getting the key for the safe. TV was not good as most of the channels were not showing. We booked the Alion Beach because we wanted a quality hotel with less than 100 rooms. Larger 4 / 5 star hotels make you feel like a number and we wanted to avoid that. We arrived on the Saturday evening and were immediately welcomed, seated in the lovely airy lobby and offered bottled water and a cypriot sweet. Stayed at the Alion between 1st Nov and 5th Nov 2007 - Hotel settings and surroundings were fabulous, it was off season so the hotel was very quiet, as too were the surrounding bars and restaurants. Hotel is situated about 10 mins walk to the centre of Ayia Napa were all the "party" bars and restaurants area. A well placed hotel with plenty of facilities although the rooms are a little tired. This was our first visit to Cyprus and it was made very pleasant by the staff and the location of the hotel. Food is excellent, a good selection for breakfast, including champagne. The grounds are well laid out and offer plenty of shade as well as areas for those who merely wish to fry. My wife, 21 month-old son, and I recently spent a week at Alion Beach. We were looking for a place that was an easy walk for a toddler to the beach, were we would enjoy 5-star accomodations and service. When we initially checked in late at night, we were quite disappointed in what was supposed to be a 5-star hotel. (We had just spent a few days at the Corinthia hotel in Budapest, a true 5-star hotel.) We originally picked the Alion from a Thompson Holiday Brochures because it was a small hotel and right on the beach. We have a Son with special needs (mental - not physical) and his needs were paramount in our decision. We could not have picked a better hotel. The staff were wonderful. We were at home from the minute we arrived. We always said we would not go back to the same place again and again.....too boring. But we did.
