the hotel is nothing like the reviews its even worse i have just been there for a 1 weeks stay with me and wife 3 kids age 4 9 and 17 and i wont be back
its was all inclusive with a diffrence
as u get a plastic glass with everything even a cuppa tea its in plastic the drinks are not watered down ( i can sya that)
the rooms are kept clean as done each and every day
the food is fast food ir very fast done fish fingers and squid rings loads of rice
stuff like tat but not the type of food u would want each and every day
u are kept like a criminal as u are that far away from the main drag and right on a main road there is a free train into the town
as i sadi about the drinks they wont give u 1 min after 12 as they charge for the drinks then (even thou u have paid for ll inc u still have to hand cash over after 12 ) 5 secs after 12 my 4 year old asked for a hot chocolate and they said no to her as she was too late thats a few secs and a child who drunk around 2 pints of cheap pop a day and i still paid adults price for her
the payphones outside the hotel is a rip off as charges u over 1 euro for less tha 1 min to call home its cheaper to use a uk mobile as u can call home for less that half that price
also the kids club is not what u think it is there is bingo fo adults and not children the kids mini disco last 15 mins and is the same songs each day

Please do not listen to all the bad reviews, myself, my friend and our two children have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel and i cannot rate it high enough! Food was good, always something there for everybody, drinks were just as good and definitley NOT watered down! The food was different every day with some things repeated, always bread, ham, cheese, chips and salad for people who didnt want to try anything different. Some of the food was beautiful and i work in catering so i know my food. Alot of spanish dishes, but what do you expect you are in spain not blackpool. The staff were superb, very friendly and great with kids. As for the kids club, they offered activities in the morning and a mini disco on the night and occasionaly movies during the day, all staff were brilliant with the kids and they always enjoyed themselves.
As for the cleanliness of the hotel it was outstanding, the cleaners cleaned constantly, clean towels every day, clean bedding, floors cleaned every day, you realy couldnt ask for more!
The hotels situation is beside a busy road, not that it bothered us at all, you couldnt even hear it.
The hotel is a bit further away from the main part of santa susanna but theres a free bus which runs to and from all day and the man who drives the bus is so friendly.
I cannot believe some of the reviews on this hotel, yes i understand not everybody had such a great time as what we did but for the money we paid, our holiday was fantastic from start to finish and i have no complaints at all.
Ive never been on a holiday like this before ive always went through thomsons or thomas cook in the past and ive paid double what i paid this time to go to santa susanna and not enjoyed my holiday as much. Will 100% be going back next year, could not reccomend it enough! One last thing we flew with ryanair and it was a nightmare, if you want to fly through them get priority boading its a MUST!!! Aimee

Oct 2010, Disgruntled Customer

The hotel itself was nice. But no air conditioning a lot of steps and terraces not very child friendly and busy main road outside hotel. Food was not very good survived on Cheese Toasties and Chips. Had to go out everynight as no entertainment apart from Karaoke. Kids club poor. Staff not friendly it is like you are bothering them. I know it was end of season but I am still a paying customer. Drink was in plastic cups and it was watered down.Would go back but never to this hotel.

My partner and I found ourselves with a weeks holiday owing from work and decided to take a break away somewhere. As it was unexpected we didn't have much of a budget so we knew any holiday would need to be cheap and cheerful, but would be glad to just get away from it all for a while, and all inclusive was the only realistic option as we didn't have much spending money. I think after reading some of the reviews a few people mistake all inc with luxery. I have been on more luxurious holidays in much more exclusive hotels but they cost at least double what we paid for this. All we wanted was a base to explore the resort or just unwind for a few days, and as we went out of season the hotel was relatively quiet. I don't agree with the food being unappetising, we both found it nice enough, not Michelin Star but enough choice to find something we enjoyed. And judging by the amount of guests going up for second helpings it couldn't have been that bad! The drinks were not watered down but they are not exported brands which is typical of most all inc hotels I've stayed at. What was not typical though was the fact that they had an equivelant local brand for a lot of the exports anyway, so most favourite tipples could be found. They also served from 10am to midnight, whereas some hotels stop all inc at 11pm and you have to pay after that. The snacks were limited to chips, burgers, hotdogs and toasties but they're supposed to be snacks, not meals. The hotel also allowed us to continue to eat and drink between checkout and our departure in the evening, unlike other all incs hotels that make you start paying once you have checked out. The hotel was spotless and there were always cleaners somewhere making sure it stayed that way and all the staff were very friendly when called upon, most of the time they left you alone to have your own space. If you like to be force fed entertainment and like the staff to be constantly geeing you up then this isn't the place for you, the entertainment programme is non existant really, just a bit of karaoke and bingo with the occasional live solo singer. But it's only a 10 minute walk to the strip along the front for a more lively evening, but set back enough from the resort centre to be able to retreat and relax. To sum up, this is the type of place that is as good as you make it, you get out what you put in. We are quite sociable people and get on with most people we meet so we were quite happy to just have a few drinks in the eveing with other guests, maybe play cards and relax. It was a nice base; clean, basic and friendly with a bit more character than the concrete block style hotels. I'd suggest this as a second holiday, a quick no frills getaway for less than it would cost for a caravan holiday in the UK!

we arrived on the friday and it looked like a lovely place to visit... we went to reception and we had to were bands red for the children and blue for the adults, this was because it was all inclusive and they needed to know who could buy alcohol and who cant and who can have free food and drinks and who cant. we thought these were going to irritate us all week, but suprisingly after a day they were fine.
also there were four of us in the room and it was a very small room, although when we went down to ask for a new room we thought it would be about 100 euro's, but when we asked they were fine with it and understood it well and the cost was only 20 euro's! we got a much better room and we were all happy :)
the food was brilliant for the price... everyday they would have a big selection buffet, and a selection of desserts. for example one day they would have chips and nuggets for the kids, salad for everyone and chicken and veg for the adults, although you could eat anything off there.
the staff were brilliant... they played with the kids, by doing things like squirting them with water guns when they were in the pool, they were funny and had a laugh, which is quite hard to do if you arent fluent in english,, besides being funny and playful they were also very helpful, if you asked them to do something they would do it right away!
the pool was very cold when we went, although we did go in september, apart from that it was big and full of children happily playing and everyone was loving it :) also they had a bar by the pool which served food and drinks before and after meals, so if you miss your meal dont worry.
in the evening they had karaoke disco's quizzez films for the kids and bingo! the karaoke was lively with great singers, the disco was lively to but mostly of little children running up and down tiring themselves out, the quiz and bingo were both good and free to get into also if you won you won free bottle of champagne!
i think this resort is brilliant and you should definately go there.

Not Good

Oct 2010, nonono

Me and my boyfriend have just come back from a week away here. I'm not really fusy with food but I couldn't eat most of the food they made! The meat had a horrible smell and didn't even taste like meat, it was also undercooked most of the time (I ended up getting ill off of it). The friut was nice for a few days then it wasen't ripe (they re use it). I know its a low cost resort and you can't expect great food but the food was unbareable. We both ended up eating chips and lettece all holiday.
We ended up staying an extra night due to the strike Wednesday. This was a nightmare, first we had to pay an extra 70 euros for that night. The staff at reception are really rude and unhelpful they didn't help us at all with any aspect of the strike. All they did was put a notice up saying there was a strike, and said 'sort it out yourself'. We then asked to change room that night as we were put up in the attic and couldn't even stand up! Their response was 'Go to a different hotel'. We meet a couple who were up there for the whole week they were staying and they had to pay 70 euros to change room for the week.
The rooms were always clean and tidy, but one of the maids stole 60 cigarettes off us.
The buses are suposed to come every 30 mins, but a couple of times we waited over an hour for them.
You have to pay for any food after 9:45 but the food you pay for is suprisenly nice.
The swimming pool was so cold even when it was really hot, and the jacozzi smelt like sewege water.
There were no seats near the bar half the time and we had to sit outside in the pouring rain.
There was no entertaiment at all apart from kareoke for one night.
The only good thing I found about this holiday was the people we meet there and the bar staff. Also the town was pretty nice and so was the beach.
I would advise you to spend a little more money and go somewhere better.
I really don't know how this is a 3 star hotel!!!!

Dont Go!

Sep 2010, me so sad

Its a budget hotel but the prices dont match, food is greasy and looks unappetising, the alcohol tastes watered down, cleaning not up to standard, staff are unhelpful.
there is no entertainment at this hotel dispite being advertised, I would personally rather spend time in a prison than return to this hotel, however the resort is beautiful and there are plenty of other wonderful hotels.
we found out when we got to our hotel that it had been featured on the tv programme hotels/holidays from hell four years previously, despite being supposedly taken over by new management i would recommend this hotel be featured on the show again.
We paid for a fully inclusive holiday but had to eat out for 9 days due to the quality of catering.

Before we went on holiday i had read up on this hotel, i knew about santa susanna because we had stayed there last year in a different hotel and it had impressed us, so i was fairly open minded about the fact it was a 3 star all inclusive. To be fair you cant expect much considering however i will summarise the reason you shouldnt go.
*food and drink is really poor
*being all inclusive you had to drink from the warm plastic beakers that they had
*they had no branded alchol, even if you wanted to buy it
*too far away from the main strip of santa susanna
*rooms were small with no air conditioning
*cant comment on the pool as i wasnt in it due to looking disgusting
*lots of drunk parents
out of 10 i would give this 2 because of what i have outlined above, this hotel needs a complete overhaul and should be avoided

very pretty looking hotel, all staff extremely friendly, not a great location as on side of a very busy motorway, food is average, chips on every day all day, same desserts every night, and what meat is available is very salty and more often than not under cooked. as usual a scramble to put your towel on a sunbed!!! although all music etc stops at midnight, very noisy corridors and you hear everything on their return, had to report some children whose parents were enjoying the all inclusive benefits of alcohol as the kids thought it highly amusing at all hours to bang on doors and run off!!! reported to reception who said they would keep watch, and our room was in full view of reception but still in continued ggggrrrr... all in all not bad for the money, the free shuttle to the town, beach and station is a godsend, and i do highly recommend a trip on the train to barcelons is so easy and very cheap at 7.50 return. staff were lovely and always available to advise on where to go etc etc. the lack of entertainment was a bit depressing, but if you like kareoke you will love it here. oh and check out the markets really are good.

Sep 2010, welshies

Stayed for one week 18th aug 2010 with hubby and 3yr old daughter.
luckily read reviews before hand so we arrived very open minded. It is a budget deal so no one should expect too much really.
Food was decent enough, hubby and I tried a bit of everything, not helping our waistline one bit. sometimes food was a just warm, when it should ave been hot, although there are 2 microwaves in dining room and i always used them. not really much for small children to eat other than chips, our little one lived on coco pops, chips, bread rolls, ice cream all week, snack bar food was tasteless, minimal to say the least.
Room was basic, hot, no privacy for those with kids.
on the plus, clean.
fine to stay for 1 week, but 2 would have made me seriously bored.
Lovely area though, not too loud or busy, just a nice break from work and home, nothing special.
worst part of holiday was the bloody sun bed fiasco, it was a joke peeps waiting at 7am for the
man to unlock them even though the pool opens at 9am. I felt sorry for he guy, some people were so rude to him.
