Turtle Beach Towers Hotel

Good thing my wife and I did not listen to all the negative reviews we read about Turtle Beach Towers. We almost cancelled because of them, but I'm glad we didn't. Recently stayed there the weekend of August 9th - 11th. Was pleasantly surprised by the very nice one-bedroom apartment upon entry. Nice bright pastel colors - very clean. Kitchenette, Nice views of ocean & mountains from balcony. CD/DVD Player. Only bad things were that beach closed at 6pm and was too "seaweedy" and you had to walk quite a ways to get to it. My husband & I recently returned (May 31, 2003) from Ocho Rios and Turtle Beach Towers. We selected Turtle based upon reviews from this website and that of Expedia. I'll start with the good: (1) the rooms are clean but there appears to be or have been a bug problem (2) the adjacent restaurant although hot and not air-conditioned is very good- George the owner/chef makes great fried chicken and breakfasts (3) the staff was helpful. For the money, you get what you pay for....I asked for a room with a king size bed and got two twin beds pushed together, the TV reception was horrible and unwatchable. I stayed in tower 2 facing the jamaican village and Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville......they had a party going on called "Black Ice" that went on until 4:30am, I was on the sixth floor and my windows were shaking from the music, the beach out front is dirty compared to all the other beaches around the area and the vendors trying to sell you everything from hairbrading to... more

In 1998 I went to Ocho Rios Jamaica and stay at Turtle Beach Resort. It was the world mistake I have every made. The place was full of Roaches, every room. My family and I call the front desk to let them know. They left a spray for us to used and it makes it worse. I would not recommed anyone to stary at that Roach Motel and I will never stay there any more. I visited Jamaica last year and the hotel looks like they need to close in down. I can't believe sitting on the beach would look like that.

We went to Jamaica during our child's Easter vacation and celebrated her 11th birthday there. Rented a condo from Turtle Beach Towers, which are 4 high rise condo buildings in Ocho Rios, on the beach, in the heart of town. Our condo was furnished tastefully and had a nice balcony with a view of both the ocean and the hillsides. We were walking distance from cafes, bars, restaurants, and the beach of course. I always stay at the Turtle, I love it! It is beautiful and the people are absolutely wonderful. I would never stay anywhere else!!!

Hard to beat the value. Pool is very nice, restaraunt is good. Front desk is very helpful and room was very nice and clean. Wish the beach were open longer than 6PM. Some rooms are closer to water and have a balcony, ours did not. They were willing to more us for a modest increase but we were already comfortable. It would have been nice to know of the option before. It was more than I expected, but my expectations were low.

I have been to Ocho Rios three times and I love staying at Turtle Beach Towers. It has the fair prices and the security of a major hotel. I have nothing bad to say about Turtle Beach, its right on the beach, has a great pool, and the staff are the best (very friendly). I will be back next year or sooner and I will be staying there. I enjoyed my stay there for 5 days in Nov. The apt was in a highrise setting with a greatview on 3 sides from the balcony and windows. Theres a kitchenette, a living room with 2 sofabeds, a stereo system and dvd player. Bring your own washclothes because they don't supply them. The complex is across the street from the entertainment island (casino, marguaritaville, shops etc. There's a small beach ou can use for a small fee. Good thing because the beach at Turtle Beach is horrible, too much seaweed for me. It's shared by several resorts... more
