Merrills Beach Resort II

My wife and I just got back from a 4 night stay at Merrils 2 for the first time. I must say we were extremely happy with all details of the trip. We traveled through Apple vacations and all connections went off without a hitch! The staff was excellent and very friendly, we left with many new friends! I absolutely loved staying at Merrils Resorts. For the amount of $ I paid, which wasn't much, I had a great time. The service was above excellent. Just about everyone I spoke with that worked there was helpful and nice. I had a great time in Jamaica 'mon! Merril's was great!!! GO THERE!

We expected more from all inclusive service. The biggest problem is the food: very little choice, almost the same every day, and vegetables are not always fresh. If you go with children you might want to choose another resort or make sure you bring enough food for them from home. The same is true for drinks and cocktails. My girlfriend and I stayed at Merrils from April 17-24, 2004. We had a wonderful time. The resort was very clean. Rooms were large and comfortable. The food was average, but there was always plenty to choose from. Carlington and Gary (2 of the cooks) would go out of their way to make sure that if there was something that you didn't have or needed they would get it for you. Stayed at Merrils II last May and lover every moment we were there. This weekend we are returning to Merrils II with friends and family in tow and know they will love the resort as much as we do. This is a first class operation from the management down to the kitchen staff. Friendly staff all around. Rooms are clean and comfotable, not 5 star but who spends that much time in their room anyway. Food was great and so were the drinks. My wife and I just got back from Merrils II. This was our second stay there and I must say it's as great as the first time. The room was a little noisy this time, due to a clicking A/C and for some reason the lid on the toilet wouldn't stay up, but other than that it was wonderful. Seven days at the Merril II, 2/28 thru 3/5/04. Arrived 11:00 PM (never a good idea when traveling) Found all inclusive bar closed, had to pay for our first drinks (not a good start). Also found out that certain mixed drinks were not included in our plan. Hard to believe that a margarita drink is considered a premium drink in the land of Jamaica. This was our first trip to Jamaica and won't be our last. After getting over the initial culture shock we had a fantastic time. Merril's Beach Resort is a real bargain. Great resort, very clean, beautiful beach, great staff (very friendly) and a nice blend of international vacationeer's. I am a 44 year old male and I brought my 19 year old daughter to Jamaica as a High School graduation present. Merril's II is an absolute delight. Beautiful, serene grounds. Friendly and helpful service. Food was always flavorful. Beach was clean. Nice sized rooms. Beds were firm. Large fluffy bath towels. Pool was clean and cool (nice cool down after baking in the sun). Great Location. Perfect in everyway. We can't think of anything to complain about!!!! We will come back again!
