Jamaica Pegasus Hotel

i deceided to stay at the pegasus hotel for my 40th birthday, when i walked in to the foyer i was very impressed, the staff were friendly, anyway i went to my room and was suprise on the room, considering i had been upgraded to an exective suite. The room was small and when i checked the mini bar, i found it empty, when i read the room manuel i realised that i had to request for the mini bar to be restocked. i was also concerned that members of staff entered rooms when they thought people were out. Pegasus was recommended to me as the best business hotel in Kingston but would not even rate as a 2* in France. It is run-down, not quite clean and the service is as poor as can be (for instance, 20 minutes check-in with no other guests at the counter!!!). Let alone the food which makes you wish there was a McDonald's in the area...

We stayed here courtesy of Air Jamaica and had a plesant time. The hotel is not what we in the UK would determine as 5*, although the room was clean and comfortable. The gym could do with updating. The food was very nice and service was good.

I lived in Kingston for a year. I was a consultant for a US based telemarketing firm. I spent my first week in Jamaica at the Pegasus and the staff could definately use some polishing. The food, however, was very good and the place was pretty clean. Due to it's international clientele, one would think they'd have a little more attention to detail.

We spent Christmas there, the grounds were beautifully decorated and so was the lobby . The buffet was tasty and beatifully presented and and we had lots to choose from.There it ends . The front desk staff was unpleasant and and downright rude.. and the female manager was no different. Totally inept. The rooms and bathrooms need to be refurbished.totally overpriced. We moved to the Hilton. Oh ! The service is wonderful there., so was the buffet. The Pegasus is over priced and just living off its past reputation.. Service is extremely poor... more

Poor Service right from the start...staff at front desk had no personality to smile, seems like she was working a long trip. Was placed on the 2nd floor next to 4 rooms which were offices. Very terrible rooms, need renovating. Makes me think and confirm why Le Merdien took it brand off this hotel. That 24 hour cafe is awful - the staff at this hotel needs a total lesson on service. Surely not worth it for the price. Best thing about this hotel is the pool...very nice... not even the door man looks at you and welcome you - quite the contrast... more

Wonderful hotel located in the uptown Kingston area. Great sightlines, wondeful food and support staff. However, the desk staff is woefully incompetent in their attention to details. They failed to credit my frequent flyer miles to my account, booked me inyo a room that reeked of smoke although I specifically asked for a non-smoker. The female manager was churlish and rude along with being exceedingly full of herself. As a Jamaican national, I take great pride in supporting our resources and will continue to do so in the future. I spent 3 wonderful weeks at the jamaica pegasus. It was my first time in jamaica where i was consulting on a project for the govt. The Pegasus has the most wonderful staff who made my stay a dream. I had a birthday during my visit and imagine my surprise when I had beautiful balloons and a bottle of wine delivered to my room. The staff are very friendly and caring. I stayed at the Jamaica Pegasus in August 2003. From the outside and the lobby, the hotel looks awesome but the rooms are just okay. My toilet leaked and the toilet paper dispenser was broken before our arrival and never fixed. We did not get clean towels every day andoften would have to call housekeeping. The staff was courteous and polite but I doubt the sincerity because it always seemed like a hand was waiting for a tip. I wa traveling with an insulin dependant diabetic and never recvd the minirefrigerator needed to house medication.... more

First impressions of the Pegasus are absolutely impressive with a grand lobby and very courteous personnel to assist you apon arrival, however the rooms are below par of what is to be expected after entering the hotel. The pool and restaraunt are above average with every attention to detail well thought out, Renovation is much in need from the paint chipped hallways to the rundown condition of the rooms. This is a genuine "don't judge a book by it's cover" impression, if this is supposed to be the jewel of New Kingston it can use a fair... more
