Having just returned from a weeks...
2 / 10
Jul 2008, Mr P Clifton

Having just returned from a weeks stay in this hotel my wife and I feel that we need to warn others of it's shortcomings. We had booked the hotel from the 15th of July 2008 (normal change over time 12.00) however we arrived at the hotel on the 16th of July 2008 at 01.45 am to be told that our room was not ready for us and that we would have to wait an hour and a half for it to be cleaned. After waiting for this time and having to beg for a drink (the temp was 30+) we were told that we would have to wait another hour and a half.
We strongly complained and the receptionist instructed the 'Bell Boy' to make up the room. (my wife had threatened to sleep on the floor as she was so tired.)
When finally taken to our room it was clear that the previous occupants smoked heavily as the room stunk of tobacco smoke.
We later found that this was normal as the hotel does not restrict smoking in the bed rooms.
Our next problem that persisted throughout was the Air Conditioning or lack of it as it was obvious to us that it was not or hardly working.
We subsequently spoke to reception the following day and they responded by sending the 'bell boy' to our room who after checking that our window to the balcony was closed, checked the controls and said this is 'normal'
We complained on another two occasions as the room was likened to a Sauna making it difficult to dress following a shower as you soon became soaking wet with perspiration.
On checking out which I will come back to I was told by the front desk manager that they had a ongoing problem with the Air Conditioning plant!!
Other guests had Air Conditioning all night of an acceptable though poor standard and others that we spoke with were in the same position as ourselves, one couple went out and purchased a Fan to use in their room!!
We found the pool area overcrowded, almost to the point of being in my opinion unsafe and chose to use the beach, which has NO sand and is more akin to a quarry being of pebbles and sharp shingle.
The Beach Bar resembled a Disco having a large column of speakers facing out towards the sun beds and the bar staff regularly kept turning the so called Boom Boom Boom music up despite requests from guests to keep the sound to a level that people could rest and sunbath.
The food at the Beach Bar was bland and the same every day however it was well prepared and the salads were very good.
Serving staff were not that pleasant, and in fairness this may be down to the way that the Russian guests treated them.
We found the Russians to be very rude, not waiting their turn in a queue or not waiting for you to get out of a lift before entering, in other words not at all polite.
In the Hotel the maid's were very good and some, though not all staff very attentive.
On the day that we checked out we again had problems. Having first agreed with the reception manager that we could keep the room on until 4pm as we were leaving at around 6pm, at 2.30pm whilst packing our cases we received a call from reception asking that we vacate our room by 3.30pm, followed by another call at 3pm to ask if we were ready!!!
This was a very disappointing stay at this hotel for my wife and myself, we deem to be very seasoned travellers having visited many countries and I am sorry to say this hotel we feel is let down by its senior management.
In particular by, we believe to be the owners son 'Oscar' who spends most of his time "Chatting Up" any woman that he fancies and Not Enough time Managing the hotel.
Sorry Timo Resort Hotel you are not a 5* and struggle to make 4*
If you still decide to stay at this hotel then an additional tip. Don't bother taking clothes to dress into for the evening as sloppy skimpy tee shirts and shorts are the standard for both sexes!!
We will certainly NOT be coming back.

The hotel is not 5* or equiped for the English tourist. Nothing was translated in English. The reception team were unhelpful and had limited vocabulary. Gym well that was a laugh - locked most of the time, treadmill very old rusty but worked, cycle bike the same nothing else worked. Maximum rusty weights 10 kg to lift but nothing to lift them with. Smokey atomsphere daily in the spa reception area which was very off putting. Meal time well this was a stampead and I mean a total stampead we actually stayed away from the dining area until most Russain guest's had departed. 2 Gateaux were put out daily to be demolished in seconds. Food was mostly fried and processed. Although lots of choice was either cold or slop. I would not recommend this hotel at all. We were very disappointed but then it did not help that when we arrived we were informed that the Hotel was over booked and instead of 3 rooms we were given a suite! Customer Service was very very poor with some staff being totally arrogent.

it was a nice hotel but the guy that owned it was a real threat to us on one of our last days he took a liking to my girl and my mates girl and got the bar man to ask for there room number and they give him it thinking it was something to do with the all inclusive but them said after it was for wine.then me and my mate came and sat beside our girl and he know they where with us and when we went up to our room 10min later my mate phone me and said the wine had came up with fruit so we didn't no wat to think...later that night we had our dinner and went and sat at a table then the girls went up to the rooms to leave things up and that guy and three of this friends came out and stood beside us we felt something happen... a few mins later they left again and the girls came back and when we said they wanted to leave so we went to one room and the 4 of us stayed in one room that how unsafe we felt...the next day we left the hotel a day early and had to stay in another hotel nightmare wat a holiday....

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 2...

Feb 2008, Miss B C Coles

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 2 weeks on all All Inclusive rate in August 2007. When we booked we were a bit worried as we could not find any UK based reviews on the hotel, but we decided to take the chance... and are so glad we did.
There is so much to say about Timo, all good - so I will keep it short.
The hotel is very large with a nice pool, pool bar and pool area. There are several bars including a beach bar, a large restaurant with outdoor seating, a massage/beauty area, a shop and entertainment area all in this hotel.
The food is good quality and a good variety. The day-time snacks dont vary much but it is what it is, a snack and what is on offer (chips, pizza etc) is more than enough. All the drinks are included and are locally produced brands. The all inclusive package is what is claims to be - you dont have to pay for anything, not even mineral water (there are water machines dotted around the hotels)
The rooms are clean, modern, bright and spacious. Maid service is carried out daily and to a high standard. On arrival the fridge in the room has 2 bottles of water, these are replaced free of charge as and when they are used up.
The staff and animation (entertainment team) are all very polite and friendly.
The hotel has its own part on the beach with sun loungers for use only by hotel guests. The beach is nice and clean and the water is nice but it is quite a pebbly beach.
The hotel is in a fairly quiet location, 5-10 minutes walking will take you into the local town of Konakli where there are LOADS of shops and some bars and places to eat. A 15-20 minute bus ride will take you right into the heart of Alanya city centre, you will also pass Cleopatra beach on this route.
We felt that this hotel was a 5* as advertised and we liked it so much we have booked to go back again this year.
