just returned from staying at Cypria Florida Beach, firstly, it does not fall into a 4*
hotel as the british would call it.It may have been a 4* in the 70's because that is
how it looks from the inside.Rooms are cleaned daily, but the bathrooms are in need of
a change.(tired looking tiles and decor). It has been repainted outside which helps it look
better, but it does require to be refurbished within, to bring it up to a 4* rating, I would
give it a 3* but no more than that .We stayed in room 112, at the front facing the sea.
Hotel in good location, but would not be running back to AYIA NAPA, I found it to be
overall in need of a facelift not just the Florida Hotel.Pavements are treacherous, and
the cost of eating and drinking is no different than the UK.
I have recently returned from a...

I have recently returned from a week’s holiday at the Luca Florida Beach which would be better suited being called the 'Puka Florida'. This was a family holiday booked with another party of 5 to attend a wedding at the Nissi Beach (god wish I had stayed there).
Four stars I think not. Upon arriving three of the letters were missing from the main hotel sign situated on top of the hotel. We were provided with our keys and sent on our way. No help with the luggage and no directions to the room. We were merely pointed in the direction of the lifts. Whilst the reception was clean, the furniture was tatty and worn, and in some cases broken! Chairs were neither comfortable or inviting. The rooms were basic; the brochure stated furnished in an old style, dated and drab would have been a better description. Furniture on the balcony was broken and the handrail had only one screw holding it into the wall! The air conditioning was insufficient and leaked the bathroom smelt of urine and the only channel available on the TV was BBC World Service (not as indicated in the brochure).
The dining room was clean but the food was terrible. Most evenings the food was cold. The children’s menu was non existent, and consisted of cold stale pizza and rubbery chips (this was served again and again and again at the snack bar). The hotel stated it had a dress code which only the English visitors appeared to adhere to. Men wearing swimming trunks to breakfast and shorts and vest tops to dinner is not a dress code!
Entertainment was severely lacking. One night of karaoke introduced by a chap who looked like he would have more fun having his teeth pulled. No entertainment for the children apart from one darts match! Hallways and stairwells were dirty and the lights never worked in the evenings.
Never ever was the pool or surrounding areas cleaned. Sand that was evident in the pool at the beginning of the week was still there when we left one week later. Raised grills caused a tripping hazard and the moss seen growing on these would have done any gardener proud!
This holiday was a total mess and I would highly recommend that no one visits this hotel unless they expect a two star (at the most) rating, a cold welcome and lack of entertainment. Could go on and on!!!!
This hotel would struggle to...

This hotel would struggle to make a 2* rating anywhere in the world, how it has been classed and listed as a 4* is beyond belief. The Hotel is very, very tied and run down, the carpets are worn, stained and smell of damp, paint was falling off the walls inside and out. The roof tiles in the hallways are cracked, damaged or missing, the air conditioning works when it feels like it, but the control makes no difference to the temperature. The fire hose reel cupboard was locked with no key available! The lifts were broken every other day so you had to use the stairs. The advertised children’s club was closed the entire two weeks we were there, the pool table was broken and the table tennis table was so warped you could hardly play on it at all.
All in all the children had nothing to entertain them at all the entire time we were there. The evening entertainment was non existent, what little there was a joke. The food was of an acceptable standard, but became very boring when it kept being repeated. It took a long time to get served with drinks at meal times, you felt that they were being slow as you were all-inclusive and they didn't want you to drink much.
We were switched to the Florida Beach Hotel at the last minute as the original hotel was being refurbished, another family that had stayed at both hotels stated that the original 3* hotel was in a better state of repair than the Florida Beach - BEFORE they started to refurbish it !
Only plus points were the quiet location, distance to the beach, the beach and the hotel pool area. All in all very, very poor value for money and a very poor standard. It will be a long time before we book a holiday with Libra again, especially if this is the standard of there 4* hotels. If you want to see what a real 4 * hotel is check the Grecian Sands Hotel out, it is across the road.

As a party of 7 we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is, admittedly, a bit run down and maybe should be considered more of a 3 star but then it is one of the older hotels in the area. It is in the process of being refurbished.
The rooms are a good size and everyone in our group had their rooms cleaned daily. Bedding was changed twice weekly and the cleaners were really friendly; anything we requested we were given.
The restaurant was clean and the service was efficient. The choice of food was fantastic; even though it rarely varied you could eat a different meal each night of your holiday. Chicken, beef, pork, lamb, fish, pasta, rice, salads, fresh vegetables, local specialities, cold meats and soups. The snack menu was limited though, given the amount of food you could have at mealtimes, why anyone would need snacks was beyond us.
The pool was cleaned regularly and all the beds around the pool had recently been replaced. We were always able to get sunbeds as there were plenty about.
The pool bar area was pleasant and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The evening entertainment was a little lacking but we went as a group and entertained ourselves. Anyone wanting entertainment could have gone to any of the bars in the town itself which is only maybe a ten minute walk away. Music was put on when there was no entertainment but was quite loud, when we asked if it could be turned down a bit so we could all chat a couple of the English families there, with children aged between about 2 and eight, said they wanted it turned up "Cos there's no entertainment for the kids"!!!
Overall this hotel did give us good value for money. We have stayed in better and no doubt we will stay in worse.
The only thing that marred our holiday was a couple of English families whose children were allowed to run riot, play around the pool with hose pipes meant for the pool, carry off safety equipment from the pool, pelt things at fruit trees, fill the pool toilets up with oranges (the product of the pelting) and generally do as they liked.
We would go back to this hotel but make sure it didn't coincide with any school holidays.

I have just got back from staying at the Luca Florida Beach along with 7 other of my party and would like to say our 2 weeks in this so called 4 Star hotel was a joke. Why? The lifts broke down many times, the doors of the lifts do not fully close, the place is dirty including my room (421), the dinning area is crawling with ants and other bugs, entertament is really bad, the disco is just one speaker with a cd player and no D J, apart from a girl called Dianna the other staff are not helpful whatsoever. As we were all-inclusive we would go down to the pool bar during the day (which to be fair, the pool is clean and are lots of beds to lay on) but once again the staff are bad down there.
We always waited up to 10 mins to get served for a drink as the bar staff would serve other guests first, who were paying cash hoping to get tips off them. We have paid up front so why should we wait 10 mins to get served? This was not just my party complaining but other british guests from Newcastle. We had a word with our rep and got no joy.
I would strongly advise that noone goes to this so called 4 star hotel, which is also said to have been closed down 2years ago down to hygiene problems and that was told to me from a other rep.
Apart from that, I and my 7 other guests enjoyed Ayia Napa but had to leave our hotel to find other entertainment. It is a lovely country with loads to do but do not say at Luca Florida Beach.
Whoever went to Ayia Napa then...

Whoever went to Ayia Napa then complained about the accommodation needs to think again! For starters only about 3 hours is spent in the room sleeping. If you expect anything more then Ayia Napa is not the place for you.
Even so I found the room very nice and clean, with an amazing view from the balcony. Secondly nothing is wrong with Florida Hotel . Its is a big hotel with loads of friendly staff., the pool is big and clean, it is across the road from a beach and a 5 minute walk to the square.
You shouldn’t have come to Ayia Napa if you expected 5 star luxury - it’s for young, lively people. Anyone planning on coming to Ayia Napa and staying in Luca Florida I would recommend it 100%. I miss everything about the place and will definately be going back next year.

We have just returned from a 2 weeks holiday in Ayia Napa. We stayed in the Florida hotel, it was a 4star hotel but we would have rated it as a 2.
The food was bland and boring, there was suppose to have been snacks at certain times, which was always not available, and when they were, it was dried sandwiches and rubber chips.
The service in the bar and restaurant was rubbish. The lifts kept breaking down. The spa pool was closed down.
It is the only holiday we have had where we have to pay for bottles of water.
I would never return to this hotel ever again and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
I would just like to stay that...

I would just like to stay that my friend and I stayed all inclusive for a week at the Florida Hotel and found it excellent!
The pool was cleaned and maintained every morning, there was no dirt or bugs to be seen at all. The staff were brilliant, always friendly and happy to help. The food was excellent the choice was fantastic and we never saw a leftover at all, it was always freshly cooked.
Also we could not of asked for a better view of the pool and beach, which is more like a 30sec than 5min walk and it was beautiful, clean and not over crowded.
We would recommend this hotel to our friends and family and would really consider staying there again if we go back to Ayia Napa.

We booked this hotel on the basis of its 4 star rating. After arriving on an overnight flight, we were given room 222. On going into the room we were met by an overpowering smell of damp, the carpets were dirty and the view from the balcony overlooked the largest ashtray in Cyprus, with residents discarding cigarette butts on the roof of the entrance area. The bathroom was a disgrace with it being poorly lit and the sink being poorly repaired after a previous breakage. The tiles were filthy. We immediately made our way to the reception where we met a rep. He spoke to us in the reception area on damp, dirty couches which were threadbare. We eventually arranged other accommodation, however not before the hotel charged us a cancellation fee, (which is now in dispute). If you want to experience a four star hotel, don't go to the Luca Florida!

We have just come back for two weeks at the Florida staying on an all inclusive basis. We have enjoyed the holiday thoroughly but unfortunately there are some negative comments I have to make as well as positive ones. The hotel does not deserve a 4 star status in any way. The whole place is tired and tatty, the pool area is scruffy, the sun beds are on their last legs.
The air conditioning in the rooms is very poor, some people reported theirs to be working fine but ours certainly did not, this resulted in poor sleep for a fortnight, this was added to by the beds having springs poking through the mattresses! The entertainment was also lacking, it was described in the brochure as a full programme of day and evening entertainment - not true.
The animator was fantastic, his name was Martin, and he worked so hard but unfortunately did not seem to have any support or backing from the hotel. He was not provided with necessary equipment and worked single handedly. During the day there were usually five different activities, but these did not vary much, three of them very the same every day.
There was something put on each night but this was at 9.30 and was usual a quiz, or bingo (both of which lasted about 45 minutes). One night there was a singer and there was Greek dancing one night which took place in the restaurant at 7.30 while everyone was eating - we thought this rather strange!
On the positive side - the position of the hotel is excellent, the beach over the road is really beautiful - clean and not too crowded. The food was okay, not wonderful but pretty standard for all inclusive hotels. The bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and worked very hard indeed.
Although Ayia Napa is a part town there was very little noise at night in the hotel and it was only the heat and the springs that kept us awake. All in all we had a good holiday but the hotel does not refurbishing and some input from management by providing some entertainment, particularly for those who are on all inclusive.

After Our recent visit to Luca Florida I must say that I totally agree with the last lady's comments. This hotel is in no way a 4 Star and I think that Libra need to stop advertising it as such.
Again I felt that the staff were excellent, however the cleanliness of the pool was a disgrace. The pool was never cleaned and there is sand and grime on the bottom and the side of the pool.
At the deep end of the pool the steps were hanging off the side and I bruised my foot really badly. The food was not catered for English, even though on our second week the majority of the holiday makers were English.
You are very central for everything and the beach is only over the road, however this is a very busy road and people do not stop at the zebra crossings, as we discovered.
We had a note put through our door one morning to state that we would be out of water for 5 hours. After this the toilets made a terrible noise for the next 7 days!!!
Also the lifts were very often broken, they would then get fixed only to be broken within a couple of hours. Advice to any future visitors. DO NOT GO!!!
Unfortunately we had a very...

Unfortunately we had a very different experience from the other person who has reviewed this hotel. We spent over £4500 for a family holiday and found the hotel to be in a terrible state of repair, broken toilets not fixed for 24 hours and no water for hours at a time. Our food was lukewarm at best and the same food (i.e. leftovers!) were served repeatedly meal after meal.
I received insect bites in my room and was eventually moved to another room and another lady at the hotel at the same time as us ended up in hospital because of bites received in her room. The staff were magnificent very friendly and keen to help where possible but they were given no resources to work with. The hotel is old and although possibly 4 star when built little has been done to maintain it and keep it in good repair. Pool filter guards were missing or sticking out of the ground and the only pool suitably shallow for my daughter was filthy.
The location was superb and I agree only 10 mins to the very center of Ayia Napa with the beach being literally across the road.
I felt compelled to write a...

I felt compelled to write a review on this hotel to give peace of mind to anyone who is looking to stay at the Luca... when I was looking for reviews on the Luca all I seemed to find were people complaining about the Luca which I found a little worrying to say the least...now if your looking for complete luxury then I suggest you look elsewhere, but if like us you are looking for a reasonably priced and clean hotel in Ayia Napa then give it a go.
The rooms were big and the beds comfortable the staff were very friendly and the food was good and the beer was cold...the beach is only about 3-5 minutes away and the main centre was more like 10minutes walk than the 20mins we read in the brochure along a road full of tavernas and bars...(try the Marquis de Napa 9/10) also if you stay on a b+b basis you can upgrade to all inclusive when you are there for 12cyp per day which you will easily save money on drinks and snacks...
The reason I am leaving this review was to do with a lady who I met in the hotel at breakfast who had to wait about 60 seconds for a glass for her orange juice..you would of thought someone had just thrown her case in the pool the amount of fuss she caused! just the sort of person who likes to complain about anything...so I hope this might put some of your minds at rest if you are off to the Luca, I am sure, like us, you will have a great time...
