Vasilikos Beach Hotel

Stayed at Vasilikos Beach for 2 weeks - had a fantastic holiday. Hotel is set in beautiful gardens (well cared for) with a very good swimming pool and bar area. Cleanliness of hotel is excellent. The bedroom was a good size with two single beds and plenty of room - furnished to a good standard. All staff are very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Stayed here for one week and loved it. It's a very small resort, only 3 tavernas within walking distance but they all served really nice food at reasonable prices. There are two lovely beaches on your doorstep, Plaka and St Nicholas Beach - we went to Plaka a couple of times for lunch and then used the free sunbeds on the grass. St Nicholas Beach was a bit noisy as they bus people in from Laganas etc. for free during the day so there were lots of groups of young lads and loud music playing. What a holiday, after half an hour transfer we were dropped off at a beautiful small hotel with a wonderfully designed pool and bar area. The ambiance is lovely with trees, shade, statues, rugs and candles. The rooms are clean with single beds and a shower room, just what you would want and expect from a 3* hotel. Breakfast was continental and was enjoyed on a patio overlooking a pretty, lush garden with views of the sea. The hotel was great swimmimg pool set in beautiful surroundings staff were so friendly and helpful service excellent from bar staff who looked after us to the ladies who cleaned our room,with special thanks to Irena who was so lovely when we ate at pool. Vasilikos beach is a mid-sized holiday resort which is located very close to the gorgeous sandy beaches (less than 400 m walking distance). The rooms are comfortable and clean and the small pool area is tidy too. Unfortunately there are only few restaurants which can be reached without cab or rental car. The place is kind of remote although the beach can become quite crowded during the day. The hotel needs to improve the buffet breakfast (only small choice, sometimes insufficient).

This was our first visit to Zakynthos and to the Vasilikos Beach Hotel, which is close to St Nicholas Beach. We really enjoyed our stay and were made so welcome by Hilary and all her staff. Hilary is the English wife of George who is Greek so you get the best of advice on places to visit, the good Tavernas' as well as a being really well looked after. We just returned from a week of magical vacation in Zakynthos. We stayed at Vasilikos Beach Hotel, It is a real gem - Situated at Vasililos which is a very nice place out of the main touristic stream and close to Dafni beach and Gerakas beach where you can see sea turtles nests. The hotel is beautifuly designed, the pool area and pool bar are great. Actually we had so much fun around the pool that we decided to have a whole day relaxing there instead of going out... We had been to the resort of Vasilikos before and loved it, this was our first stay in the hotel, and it was lovely, the rooms were clean and spacious. The resort is very quiet and peaceful, just perfect for a romantic break. The staff are very helpful and make your stay as pleasant as possible.

I spent a lot of time on the net researching hotels and locations before heading to Zakynthos. I can honestly say (and my husband kept reiterating this on holiday) that I found a little piece of heaven in the Vasilikos Beach Hotel. It had everything and it was well run, in a beautiful village location, quiet and non-touristy and right next to two of the best beaches on the Island (Plaka and St Nicholas). Booked an allocated on arrival holiday with Thomson. Looked into the various resorts around the island, but wheh we got there and told we were off to Vasilikos we thought "Where?". Never even noticed it on the map. Taxi transfer to the hotel as nobody else were going there!!! Then when we arrived we thought "wow!" The hotel looked wonderful. The pool area was amazing.
