The rooms were clean with plenty of room and big mirrored wardrobes. Some of the "best rooms" have a 2 hob cooker and fridge, the others have a kettle and fridge, - and our rooms had the kettle and fridge.
The triple room consisted of a double bed and a sofa bed which were both very comfy. The room itself was very warm so check the radiators are not too high, which ours were. The bathroom had a shower cubicle and a heated floor! You can borrow cups and cutlery at reception; I think you can get plates and pots there as well. At the weekends it can get a bit noisy outside late at night, but it didn’t really bother us.
It is worth considering taking some food and drink with you as Oslo has a reputation for being very expensive! A 500ml bottle of water for example is normally about £2! Cochs have an arrangement with a local cafe for residents to get discount on their buffet breakfast which consists of Bread, cold meats and cheese and tuna and tea or coffee for 59kr (just under £6)
During the day we bought a 24 hour travel card from the 7/11 which can be used on ALL public transport (even the small ferry boats if you want to go out in the fjords) We used this to go up to the ski jump (there was no snow but you get an amazing view out to the sea) and all over Oslo and was a good way to see everything for only 60kr. We also went to the National Art Museum (which was free entry) to see the Munch artwork, particularly "The Scream".
In the evening we went to Peppes Pizza (which is similar to Pizza hut, and has English on the menu) this cost us about £17 for a main course and large soft drink (when I say large I mean large it was an 800ml glass) which we thought was pretty reasonable.
If you are flying to Oslo with Ryanair its worth pointing out that they fly into Torp Airport and not Oslo, which means you have to get the Torpekspressen bus into Oslo, which takes 1hr 50mins and costs 270kr for a return (which lasts up to 2 months).
